Alpha Ricardo’s POV
The door opened, and alpha Joshua walked out of the room and stood before me. ”You did the right thing, but you have a lot to do to get her love. I hope you are up to the task,” He said and walked away, while Simeon led him away.
I opened the door and stepped into the room. I closed the door and walked further into the room to see Mia standing beside the window with her back turned to me. She was obviously in deep thought, making me curious about what she discussed with Joshua.
”You should be in bed,” I murmured and got a heavy sigh from her before she turned around. ”I need to go back to my room….” She tried speaking, but I cut in, ”You can stay here and rest a little longer.” I suggested and noticed a big frown appeared on her face. ”Just being married does not mean we should act like everything is okay between us.” She spoke seriously, ”I hate you, and nothing on earth will change that.” She said firmly and took steps towards me but stopped a step away from me.
She held my gaze for a moment before speaking, ”We are just married in the eyes of people and will never do what married couples do. We won’t sleep in the same room, and neither will you put on me the responsibility of your Luna.” She spoke seriously, ”I will stay in this marriage until I am done with my plans, and After it, I will break off this marriage and bond.” She muttered in a serious tone, getting me confused about what her plans were. I knew whatever plan she was talking about; it had to do with what she discussed with alpha Joshua.
”Now, if you may excuse me, I need to go back to my room.” She walked out on me while I stood there pondering on what her plans were. ”I hope she isn’t planning on doing something stupid,” Eric spoke, causing a heavy sigh to leave my lips.
With a groan, I went for a shirt in my closet, took out one, and put it on. I went for footwear, put it on, and teleported away.
In a split of seconds, I appeared in the sitting room of Lord Philip. This was my first time being here, and I knew it was a bit risky, but I didn’t mind.
”Lord Philip,” I yelled, causing my voice to echo all over the house.
A few servants ran out from different corners of the house and stood before me with stunned eyes. A man walked forward to me. ”Alpha Ricardo, to what do we own this visit?” He asked calmly, but I could sense he was scared. ”Where is lord Philip….” ”I’m here.” I heard his voice behind me.
In a swift motion, I turned and saw him walking down the stairs while his gaze was fixed on me. While holding his gaze, I could tell he was surprised to see me and tried his best to hide it. ”You are here?” He asked and took the stairs. ”Yes, are you shocked?” I asked in rage, ”What you did was a silly thing to do,” I yelled while unleashing fire from my hands.
I heard the loud growl from his men, but none tried to come close to me. ”You tried to kill me?” I asked with a bitter chuckle, and increased the flames in my hands. ”What are you talking about?” He asked with confused eyebrows, acting ignorant.
”I’m not here to exchange words, but to warn you. Stay away from Mia. She is now my wife and belongs to me. She bears my mark and now has no connection with you.” I warned and got a disapproving groan from him, ”On whose permission did you marry my daughter?” He yelled and marched forward to me. ”I know Mia, I know she hates you so much, so tell me, how did you marry her.” He yelled with raging anger and took out his fangs.
”Mia is my mate, and I don’t need your permission to get married to her, not when you want her dead,” I yelled, causing the ground to shake beneath my feet. ”I have come to warn you, lord Philip….” I paused and took a step forward. ”Maybe you have been doing this with others but don’t you dare come near my family or Mia. I will let this slide just for a reason, but the next time you do something stupid, I’ll make sure I burn you and everyone in this Mansion to ashes.” I muttered those words as a warning, put off the flames in my hands, and teleported away.
I arrived in the sitting room and wanted to take the stairs to my room, but the alluring scents of honey mixed with nutmeg hit my nose, announcing Mia was around.
I followed the direction of the scent and saw that it took me to the path that led to the dining hall. I arrived in the dining and saw Mia seated on one of the seats having a meal. She stopped eating, glared at me for a moment, and looked away. I pulled out my seat at the extreme of the table across Mia. ”Did you meet him at home?” She asked while taking a spoonful of food into her mouth. ”You mean lord Philip?” I asked and got a nod. ”How did you know I went for him?” I asked, while fixing my gaze on her. ”All that doesn’t matter. The question is, did you find him or not?” she asked, dropping her spoon.
”I did.” I responded and got a hum from her, ”Tomorrow you are taking me there.” She said, getting me confused, ”Why do you wish to see him?” I asked with furrowed eyebrows. ”That has nothing to do with you, just teleport me there,” She said and stood to her feet., ”I can’t take you there. It’s too dangerous to meet with him.” I tried speaking, but she cut in, ”I’m not asking you, alpha Ricardo, I’m telling you. It’s either you take me, or I’ll tell your gammas that you married me against my will.” She threatened and stole one more glance at me before leaving.
”What is she up to?” I asked Eric, ”I’m also confused as you are,” My Wolf responded.
I left the dining table and teleported to my room. With a tired sigh, I sat on my bed and unbuttoned my shirt. ”Alpha Ricardo!” I heard Jayson’s voice in my head, and I gestured him to go on, ” You have a meeting with the gammas at 9 am tomorrow morning.” He announced, causing a heavy sigh to leave my lips. ”Alright,” I told him and ended the mind link.
After closing the Mind Link, I stood to my feet, pulled away my pants, and lay on the bed. I felt weak and exhausted, probably because of the poison in my system. Feeling weary and tired, I closed my eyes and deeply fell asleep.
”Wake up,” I heard the loud growl from my wolf, forcing my eyes to open.
When I opened my eyes, I noticed the room was dark, but two figures stood before me. ”Who are you?” I asked, while unleashing fire from my hands. ”I’ll advise you to take that off.” A familiar voice spoke, and just then, the lights in my room were switched on.
Standing before me was Lord Dickson with an unfamiliar girl. With confused eyebrows, I left the bed and stood to my feet with fire flames burning from my hands. ”What are you….” My words stuck in my mouth when my eyes fell on the box Dickson was carrying. ”Is that…” ” Yes, it is. This is a Chastise box, and guess whose hair is in it?” He asked with a smirk.
With seized breath, I stared at the transparent box in his hand and realized a strand of blonde hair was inside the box. ”That is Mia’s hair,” He said with a smirk, causing my breath to seize.
”Chastise box? How did you come to have it? This box was supposed to be destroyed centuries ago.” I asked, confused, and got a loud chuckle from him. ”This box was never destroyed. The box destroyed was the clone. My great-grandmother had it, it was passed to generations, and now it’s in my hands,” He said, causing fear to run down my spine.
The Chastise box, or the box for punishment, punishes werewolves who commit crimes and atrocities. Once you commit a big crime, and the wolverines find you guilty, they will use the chastise box for punishment. Firstly, they will take a strain of your hair and put it inside the box. If your hair remains there for over a week, the person loses their wolf and abilities. Some might die in the process because of the pain of losing something crucial, and only a few survived.
”What is the meaning of this?” I spoke furiously, increasing the flames in my hands. ”Don’t bother unleashing your flames on me. The box can’t be destroyed by mere fire or object, and I only have the code to unlock it. So if you consume me with your flames, ensure the box will remain unlocked, and no one can destroy it,” He threatened, and I knew he was right.
With panting breath, I stared at the box and saw Mia’s hair in the box, sending a cold shiver down my spine. ”You have until tonight to make your decision,” He spoke, getting me confused. ”What do you want?” I asked with panic. ”Mia, I want Mia.” He said while holding my gaze.
”Never!” I yelled and got a scoff from him, ”Then watch her lose her wolf and abilities and probably die.” He threatened, causing an angry growl to leave my lips.
I knew his threats weren’t mere threats. He meant every word of what he said. I heard how powerful and magical this box was. It had been used for centuries, and all attempts to destroy it were useless. Rumor had it that it was finally destroyed by a group of magicians about a hundred years ago, but now I know all that was lies.
I moved my gaze to the lady beside him and felt a strong energy around her. ”Meet Anna. She is a hybrid and has the gift of making things invisible.” Lord Dickson spoke the moment he noticed I was looking at her. That explains how they could get into my room without being seen.
With a groan, I moved my gaze back to Dickson with eyes filled with rage. ”What do you want?” I asked while holding his gaze.
”Good question. First, you have to put off those flames in your hands,” He asked, and I did as told. ”Good, now this is what is going to happen….” He paused and took a step closer to me. ”I want Mia and can’t have her unless you help me.” He smirked evilly and took another step toward me. ”You have to make her hate you and come to me. I believe you know how to make her come to me.” He grinned and continued, ”If you tell her about this, then be sure that I’ll make sure she loses her wolf, and if you report this to the wolverines or any authority, you know what will happen.” He threatened with a smirk, ”You have just tonight to make the decision, and remember, no one should hear about this.” He threatened and signaled the young girl to come closer to him. ”Good night, alpha Ricardo. I hope you make the right decision.” He grinned, and right before my eyes, he became invisible the moment the girl touched him. Curious, I stared at the door to see if it would open, but it didn’t. ”They passed through the wall. No need to send your men to block them. They won’t find them,” My wolf whispered in defeat.
