Alpha Ricardo’s POV
”What are you doing here?” She blurted in panic while I heard movements behind me. ”I’m sorry.” I apologized while cursing myself for walking in while pictures of her naked body played in my head, but I wiped them off.
She didn’t give a response, rather I heard footsteps behind me and saw her standing before me with a furious look. She put on a black robe while her hair was dripping out water on her body. ”Why are you here?” She asked, moving her gaze to the floor where the broken pieces of plates were scattered.
I watched her stare at the scattered tray of food on the floor before holding my gaze. Her face was filled with confusion and at the same time she was angry. ”You brought me breakfast?” She scoffed and shook her head, ”I thought you were wiser than this, what makes you think I would eat this?” She scoffed and moved away from me.
Heartbroken, I turned and saw her pull up a seat and sit before her dressing mirror. I watched her plug the hair dryer and began drying her hair. With heavy feet, I walked and stood behind her while she eyed me from the mirror, but continued drying her hair. Seeing her in that position, I remember how I usually combed mom’s hair and how she would praise me, telling me that my mate would be the happiest woman on earth.
Such memories made my heart cling in my pain, but I composed myself. I was thought never to show my emotions.
”Let me help.” I pleaded while holding her gaze through the mirror, but she didn’t reply. ”Allow me help.” I pleaded again and this time she sighed angrily, put off the dryer and stood to her feet.
She stood before me with folded arms and held my gaze. ”What do you want?” She asked, irritated by my actions.
”I want your forgiveness.” I responded without thinking about it. ”That’s never going to happen.” She responded quickly. ”I…” I tried speaking, but she cut me off, ”I can’t forgive you alpha Ricardo, the only reason I’m still here is that the DNA result isn’t out yet and when it is out, and it proves that we are not siblings, trust me, that would be the last time you would set your eyes on me.” She spoke firmly, while I lost my voice, not knowing what to say or do. ”You caused me pain Alpha Ricardo, you imprinted a memory in me, memories that can’t be wiped away just by apologizing.” She shook her head and turned her back to me. ”With all due respect, I will ask you to leave.” She said, trying to control her temper.
I stood and watched her suck a deep breath as she waited for me to leave, but I didn’t want to. ”We should leave.” Eric advised, while I stole one glance at her before teleporting away. I appeared at the dining table and met Uncle Stephen having breakfast alone. ”I thought you wouldn’t join me.” He said, while I flashed him a weak smile and pulled out my seat at the extreme of the table. ”Are you okay?” He asked, fixing his curious gaze on me. ”I’m not.” I spoke truthfully and placed an empty plate before me.
A servant hurried to me and filled my plate with a small quantity of the food displayed on the table until I signaled it was okay and she left.
”Do you wish to talk about it?” Uncle Stephen asked, while I released a frustrated sigh and forced a spoon of food into my mouth and forced it down my throat.
”You need to give her some time.” Uncle Stephen spoke while I continued forcing myself to eat, despite not having an appetite. ”You don’t expect her to run into your arms so easily, you have a lot to do.” He advised, while I just listened and continued eating.
We ate in silence until we were both through. ”Can you take me back? My things are already in the sitting room.” He asked, while I responded with a nod.
We both stood to our feet and walked to the sitting room, where a servant was holding his suitcase. He took the suitcase from the servant and gestured me to go on.
I took hold of his left arm and we both teleported away.
Within the split of some seconds, we appeared right in his sitting room. I let go of his arm and sat on a single-seater couch. ”Do you want to see Tom?” He asked, ” No, I have to leave, I’ll see him some other day.” I responded and quickly stood to my feet.
”Take it easy on yourself.” He pleaded, while I nodded my head and teleported away.
I arrived in the sitting room and met Jayson waiting for me there. ”Greetings.” He greeted, while I nodded my head and took the couch opposite him. ”What’s that in your hand.” I asked, staring at the envelope in his hand.”
”It’s an invitation.” He responded, ”For?” I asked.
”The werewolves and vampires are having a meeting the day after tomorrow, and you are really needed in that meeting.” He said while handing the letter to me. With a sigh, I took it and went through it. ”I thought there would be no more meetings.” I grumbled while folding the letter, ”You can decline it, if you want.” He suggested, but I shook my head and stood to my feet. ”I will attend.” I said and wanted to walk away, but he stopped me. ”Are you okay?” He asked while I nodded my head, but he knew I was lying.
”Alpha Ricardo.” Doctor frank called through mind link, ”I can hear you, doctor frank.” I responded, ”The results are ready, should I bring it or…” ”I’m coming for it.” I cut in and teleported away.
Within the blink of an eye, I appeared in Doctor Frank’s office and met him seated behind his desk. The moment he noticed my presence, he stood on his feet and lowered his head in respect. ”Greetings!” I responded and took the visitor’s seat.
”The results.” I asked, scared and in panic.
Silently, I prayed she was not my half sister because I was already developing feelings for her, or perhaps I had those feelings in me, but were subdued by my hate.
”Here it is.” He said, passing a closed envelope to me.
Gulping nervously, I took the envelope from him and quickly opened it. I read through it and, according to the result, it was confirmed that Lord Philip was actually Mia’s biological father.
A heavy sigh left my lips as I ran my fingers through my hair, ”This is yours.” He said, handing another envelope to me.
I took the envelope from him, opened it and scanned through it. From the results, it shows that Mia and I don’t share any traits of DNA, which meant we were never siblings.
With a deep sigh, I closed the envelope and stood to my feet. ”Are you comfortable with the results?” He asked, while I nodded my head and stood to my feet. ”Thank you.” I shook hands with him and teleported away.
I arrived in my private room and dropped the results on my desk and nervously walked around my room.
I was supposed to be happy with the results, but at the same time I was scared and worried. If Mia is really Lord Philip’s child, that means he had all the right to take her if she wanted to leave. ”You won’t let that happen.” My wolf spoke while I ignored him and sat on the bed.
”Doctor Stephen?” I called through mind link. ”Are the results ready?” I asked, ”Yes alpha, I wanted to bring it to you once I’m done with work.” He answered. ”That won’t be necessary, I’m coming to get it, where are you?” I asked, getting on my feet. ”I’m attending to a patient, but will be in my office in the next two minutes.” He said, ”Alright.” I responded and closed the mind link.
With heavy feet, I walked to the mini bar in my room, took out a bottle of whiskey, opened it and drank from the bottle. I stared at the envelope on the table as so many mixed emotions played in my head.
I wondered how father would feel if he got to know that Mia was never his child. Perhaps he would have been really heartbroken, or probably he knew but didn’t want to say it.
With a heavy sigh, I dropped the bottle of whiskey and teleported away. I arrived at doctor Stephen’s office and met him, closing the door behind him.
”Greetings alpha Ricardo, please have a seat.” he said, gesturing me to take the visitor’s seat, which I did. He walked to his desk, and picked up two envelopes from the desk and handed them to me. Quickly, I opened the first envelope, which indicated I wasn’t related to Mia in any way. A sigh of relief left my lips as I folded it and opened the other, which stated that Mia and Lord Philip were actually related.
Exhausted, I closed my eyes and rested on the seat. ”Are you okay?” Doctor Steven asked, while I nodded my head and stood to my feet. ”Thank you.” I made a handshake with him and teleported away.
I arrived in my private room and dropped the envelope on the table beside the others. ”It has been confirmed, what will you do.” Eric asked, but I didn’t have a response to his question. I was damn confused and didn’t know where to start with all this.
Mia isn’t related to me, which meant we could be together, but I knew Mia wouldn’t let that happen. The hatred I saw in her eyes was something so intense and scaring.
”Alpha Ricardo.” Jayson spoke in panic through telepathy. ”What’s wrong?” I asked worried. ”You need to come see this.” he spoke troubled, ”Where are you?” I asked, ”In your office.” He responded and I quickly teleported.
I arrived at my office and met Jayson seated on the couch with a laptop in his hand. ”What is going on?” I asked while moving closer to him.
”You just received an email.” He said, handing the laptop over to me, ”It’s from your dad.” He notified, getting me confused. ”From father?” I asked, confused, fixing my gaze on the screen of the laptop.
”I think it’s a scheduled email.” He explained, sending a cold shiver down my spine.
It’s been four years now since the death of my father, and getting a scheduled email from him meant it was really important.
With uneasiness, I walked to my desk, sat on my seat and clicked on the email which had Dad’s email address.
”Take a deep breath.” Eric suggested, and I agreed. I took a deep breath and fixed my eyes on the screen of the laptop, anxious to read the massage. It read:
”My dear Ricardo, I know that if this email gets to you that can only mean I’m no longer with you, but rest assured that I’m always with you in spirit.”
I gulped and stared at Jayson, who stood before me with curious eyes before going back to the email.
”A year ago, I got a vision from my seer that I might not be alive in the next two years. She didn’t tell me how my death would come, but she told me to tell you everything before I finally join my ancestors and believe me, I wanted to really speak to you, but you never wanted to give me a listening ear.” The moment I read those lines, I gulped in pain as Memories of my attitude towards dad played in my head. Whenever dad wanted to speak to me, I always got angry and walked away.
”I have some things to say to you, and I’m deeply sorry that I have to tell you these through an email.” I gulped and continued, ”Your mother was never my mate, but believe me, I loved her so much even until her death. Your mother was really sick and we both decided to get married, but I never knew I would fall in love with her. I know you might think bad of me for bringing Stephanie home, but I want you to know that Stephanie is my mate and your mother was aware of us.” I read and gulped in tears.
Maybe all this would have been better if I heard it from him. Perhaps things wouldn’t have gone this far.
”I know that you are angry with me because you think I cheated on your mother, but I never did, she was fully aware of I and Stephanie. She wanted to leave, but I wouldn’t allow it because, despite finding my mate, I have grown to love her so much.” I read while tears blurred my eyes. ”Are you okay?” Jayson asked and I responded with a nod.
”I have something else to say to you. Mia is not my daughter, I knew she was never my child even before she was born because I knew I had a low sperm count.” After reading those lines I seized my breath, ”Three years after your birth I and your mother wanted to have another child, but it wasn’t working. We visited so many specialists, and it was confirmed that I had low sperm count and your mother having you was a miracle from the goddess.” I gulped and stared at Jayson, who wore a concerned look.
”A glass of water.” I asked and Jayson went for it.
He gave the glass of water to me, which I took, gulped it all into my mouth and went back to the email.
”When Stephanie told me she was pregnant, I had my doubts but didn’t ask her about it. I waited until Mia was born and secretly did a DNA test, and the results were negative. I did some investigations and found out that Mia’s biological father was Lord Philip, who had been having a secret affair with Stephanie before we met. I realized she left him the moment we met each other and decided to keep Mia away from him. At first, it wasn’t clear to me why she kept Mia away from him, but a few days ago I realized why she did it…” I heaved a deep breath and scrolled downward.
”Lord Philip had children before, but they all died mysteriously. No one could tell why his children kept dying, but a few days ago my seer told me that the reason he was able to live up to three hundred years without getting old is not because he was gifted the gift of not aging, but rather he sacrificed his children to a deity in exchange for more years.” The moment I read those lines, a cold shiver ran down my spine, but I composed myself and read forward. ”He had four children with four different women, and they all died mysteriously, and I believe Stephanie was aware of this, that was why she kept Mia away from him.”
”Bastard.” My wolf cursed while I continued reading.
”I know you and Mia were mates, I’m your father. What makes you think I wouldn’t know when my son meets his mate?”
”He knew.” I whispered to my Wolf.
”I knew you both were mates despite how much you tried hiding it, and I apologize for making you go through whatever you went through and whatever you are going to go through in the future, but I just couldn’t hand Mia over to lord Philip to be sacrificed. Find a place in your heart to forgive me.” I gulped and threw back the tears that threatened to fall on my cheek.
”You have to protect Mia from Lord Philip, make sure he doesn’t take her away. The moment he does that, believe me, you will never see her again. You have to break the bond he has with her, and that is by getting married to her and making her yours. By doing that, she will only belong to you, and he will have no connection with her.” I read with seized breath.
