Mia’s POV
”I think he’s trying to change and…” ”Stop it!” I yelled at my Wolf. ”Don’t tell me you are trying to accept his pity card.” I spoke angrily at my wolf.
”Not really, I accept whatever decision you take,” My wolf murmured, while I heaved a heavy sigh and stood to my feet.
I stood before the mirror and glared one more time at myself before leaving my room. ”Where are you guys?” I asked Sarah through telepathy. ”At the Mansion’s gate,” She responded, ”I’m on my way.” I announced and ended the mind link.
I took the stairs to the sitting room and ran into aunt Cara on my way to the door. ”Did you have your breakfast?” She asked while I shook my head and replied, ”I’m going out with Sarah, we will get something to eat.” I said my goodbyes and left.
I walked towards the gate and noticed the eyes of the guards on me and, without having been told, I knew something was wrong. ”I’m sorry, but I have to follow you from henceforth.” One of Ricardo’s strongest guards spoke as I reached for the gate.
”Excuse me?” I question with furrowed eyebrows, ”These are orders from alpha Ricardo.” He responded, getting me angry and irritated. I wanted to argue with him, but I knew it was pointless because Ricardo’s words were final.
I marched back to the sitting room and met Simone. ”Where is alpha Ricardo?” I asked, raging in anger.
”Is everything alright?” He asked, ”Where is he?” I asked, ignoring his question. ”He is at his office,” He responded, while I didn’t wait for him to complete his words before leaving.
I left the sitting room and went to the quarters where his office was located. As I got closer to his office block, an alluring scent of fresh woods hit my nose and I hated it so much, but luckily, my wolf was quiet. I believed she understood the assignment.
I reached his office, pulled out the door and walked in. I met his receptionist, who saw me and quickly jumped to her feet. This was literally the first time I had stepped my feet here.
”Are you here for Alpha, Ricardo?” She asked curiously. ”Yes, and you don’t have to show me the way, I know my way.” I gave her a quick smile and proceeded to a door in the left corner with Alpha Ricardo’s name written on it.
I held the handle of the door, sucked a deep breath and pushed it open. I stepped in and met him in the office with Beta Jayson. We held a gaze and I could see that it did not surprise him to see me. Seeing him again, I remembered he had seen me naked, and I hated it.
”You are here,” Jayson spoke, while I nodded my head and fixed my gaze on alpha Ricardo, who had a blank look on his face. He looked stressed and tensed, but it did not bother me.
”Why did you ask an escort to follow me?” I require furiously while moving closer to him. ”Yes, I did,” He responded while rising to his feet, ”It’s for you…” ”I don’t want to hear it.” I cut him off and tapped my foot angrily on the floor.
”I’ll take my leave…” Jayson attempted to speak, but I interrupted, saying, “Please stay, I’m about to leave.” I held alpha Ricardo’s gaze. He thinks he can control me like he did four years ago, but he has no idea he created a beast in me.
”I’m going back to that gate and make sure you’ve told your men to stay out of my way, or you’ll regret it.” As a warning, I muttered those words and walked out the door.
“Wow, that was insane,” I said. My wolf complimented me while I smiled at myself. It feels good to be strong.
I left the office and walked to the gate and surprisedly they allowed me to walk out with no one following me. ”Great decision Alpha Ricardo.” I told him through the mind link and before he could response, I closed the mind-link.
I walked out of the mansion’s gate and met Rachel’s car parked at the other end of the road. I waved my hand at them and walked over to them.
”Sorry for the delay.” I apologized while getting inside the car, ”Did something happen?” Sarah asked while turning to hold my gaze.
”Everything is fine.” I assured them and put on my seat belt, ”So where are we going?” I asked, curious because they didn’t tell me where we were actually going.
”A pool birthday party,” Rachael replied, ”A pool birthday party? This early?” I asked, confused, ”Not really. Actually, we are going shopping and thereafter, we hit the road.” Rachael explained, getting me more confused. ”Hit the road. Isn’t the party happening here?” I asked. ”No, it’s happening in a town, two hours drive from here,” Rachael explained, making me groan annoyingly. ”But you didn’t tell me this,” I grumbled and relaxed on the seat. ”because if we did, you wouldn’t have agreed to join,” Sarah responded while I rolled my eyes and looked away.
”It is better worth it.” I sighed while Sarah and Rachael laughed. We discussed other things until we got to the store and got out of the car.
We did some shopping with Rachael’s card and decided to change our outfits.
”It’s an all-white party,” Rachael announced when I went for the purple dress.
”An all white party?” I asked with a questioning look, and she responded with a nod, ”Do you even know whose party we are attending?” I asked, to be sure, because I knew Rachael could act silly.
”Of course I do.” She chuckled and walked away. ”Bitch.” I cursed while Sarah chuckled and picked up her dress.
We changed into our dresses and stood before the mirror. Rachael put on an off – shoulder short white dress that stopped above her knees while her black hair was poured on her shoulders. Sarah put on a short white jumpsuit that stopped above her knees and her black hair was parked in a bun, while I went for a white strapless short dress which was embroidered with slivers stones and my blond hair was let loose on my shoulders. We three looked stunning, making me curious about the type of party we were attending.
”Time to hit the road,” Rachael announced and led the way out of the boutique.
”Where are we going again?” I asked, curious, as she started the engine. ”You will see when we get there,” She responded, and drove off.
Throughout the two-hour drive, we talked about so many things. We discussed our favorite movies, sang our favorite songs, and I was glad they didn’t bring up a topic that had to do with me and alpha Ricardo being mates.
After a two-hour drive, I noticed she stopped in front of a black, massive gate. A security guard who was seven feet tall walked up to us with a frightening look. ”Your pass?” He asked, ”We don’t need that, why don’t you tell Madison that Rachael and her friends are here.” She said, ”You are Rachael?” He asked, ”That’s correct, and these are my friends, Mia and Sarah.” She introduced.
”Apologies.” He apologized and let us in.
Rachael drove and parked in an empty space. Curious, I got out of the car and stared at the building. The building was a four-story building, painted with white acrylic paint. Looking at the house, I knew this party was no ordinary one.
”Whose house is this?” I asked, staring at the variety of expensive cars parked.
”Madison birthday party,” She responded with a quick smile.
”Madison?” I asked, confused. ”Yes, let’s go in.” She held my arms and pushed me along with her, while Sarah followed behind. ”Who is Madison?” I asked, more curious because I hadn’t heard of that name. ”You will know when you see him.” She winked at me, getting me more confused.
I followed her to the back of the building, which was blasting loud music. We reached the back of the building and I halt my steps when I saw the crowd of people dancing at the poolside. The pool was filled with half-naked girls whose curves were displaying while some were dancing to the loud music, and no one noticed our presence until I held a gaze with a certain young man, which sent an icy shiver down my spine. ”Vampire!” My wolf announced, forcing me to take a step backwards.
His brown eyes were full of curiosity as he furrowed his eyebrows, confused, while holding my gaze. I noticed a young lady was talking to him, but he was lost in my gaze.
Nervously, I gulped and looked away. ”Where are we?” I questioned Rachael. ”It seems you’ve already gotten a clue,” Sarah responded, getting me more curious.
”We are at a party whose celebrant is a vampire,” Rachael replied while nervously licking her lips, awaiting my reaction.
”Tell me you are joking.” I spoke, not wanting to believe it, ”You don’t have to be scared you are also one of them and besides, the celebrant and I are dating.” She spoke shyly and tucked her hair behind her ears.
”What!” I blurted out, shocked.
”Keep calm, I wanted to tell you about it but decided to surprise you.” She pleaded while I moved my gaze to Sarah who, held no expression on her face, ”You know about this?” I questioned Sarah while she guiltily nodded her head. ”We would have told you, but you were away, so we decided to keep it away from you, but I’m telling you now,” She begged while I stood there stunned at what I just heard.
”Hey babe!” I heard a male voice behind us. Curious, we all turned and met a handsome-looking dude smiling at us, or should I say, Rachael. ”Hey babe,” Rachael responded and walked to him, ”A very happy birthday.” She said and sealed her lips with his. ”Vampire.” My wolf announced to me while I gulped and watched them kiss passionately until they realized we were standing there.
”Forgive my manners,” He apologized and walked up to us. ”Hello Sarah.” He greeted while he took her right hand and placed a kiss on it. ”And I believe you are the famous Mia she always talked about,” He said, and without waiting for my response, he took my hand and placed a kiss on it.
