She hadn’t planned to do anything that would offend Audrey, but Adeline came along and was causing trouble for her.
She feared Audrey might get angry and do evil things to her.
“It’s okay, Stacy. That’s why I’ve always admired you… even though we want the same man,” Adeline chuckled, but Stacy just stared at her with an unreadable expression.
“I-it’s not what you think…”
“You put her to the right use. She’s nothing but a lowly slave. Now, human, pour her another wine,” All this time, Audrey just sat, looking at the two women who were quite entertaining her.
“No?” Audrey said with a tilt of her head, sending Stacy a bone-chilling smile.
“You bitch,”
“No!” Stacy quickly stood from the chair and pushed Adeline’s hand that was aiming to pour the content of the glass on Audrey’s head away; causing the reverse to be the case.
“What have you done!!!” Adeline screamed as the wine now soaked up her whole chest area, her cloth gluing to her skin and making her nipples visible through the cloth as she wore no bra.
“I’m so sorry, but…”
SLAP!!!
A hot slap landed on Stacy’s cheek, landing her on the floor.
“How dare you, because of this trash, you dared to cross me!” Adeline said with hatred.
Andrew was successful in stopping Janeth from meeting the Alpha.
He had met her halfway, blocking her path.
“Excuse me, you’re in my way,” Janeth sneered.
“I know,” Andrew said with a smirk, folding his hands on his broad chest.
“But, you see, miss… whatever you are, our Alpha is deep in a serious discussion with people of class and prestige. Trust me, the last thing they need is an unknown entity barging between them,” Andrew explained calmly.
“When I report to the Alpha, you’ll be sorry for yourself,” Janeth huffed.
Alpha Lake has been quietly observing everything from where he stood.
He’d not seen Audrey since yesterday evening, and looking at her right now, it seemed like she was glowing and he was a moth to her flame.
He kept getting distracted from his discussion, always looking in Audrey’s direction.
He had seen when Janeth and Stacy came, but he didn’t pay any attention to them, his sole attention was on Audrey, and when he saw Adeline trying to pour her drink on Audrey, he turned away from his guests and walked in her direction.
“Adeline?” Alpha Lucas held Alpha Lake by the arm, pausing his stride.
Alpha Lucas thought that Alpha Lake was angry because of Adeline’s predicament; he thought Alpha Lake wanted to go and defend Adeline. He was wrong.
Alpha Lake just wanted to reach Audrey and take her away from them. He knew he shouldn’t trust her yet, but the mate bond wouldn’t let him ignore her. He needed to ask her some serious questions.
“They are just girls’ they’ll settle their differences,” Alpha Lucas joked.
He wanted to reach a conclusion with Alpha Lake concerning their business deals, he didn’t like that he was neglecting them because of Adeline. A female.
“Alpha, I’ll take care of it,” Andrew said to him and walked back to Audrey’s table.
“What’s going on, girls?” Andrew asked, looking from Stacy to Adeline.
He knew Audrey wasn’t the culprit.
“Do you need to ask? It’s this idiot! This good-for-nothing copycat!” Janeth was now standing beside Andrew, pointing an accusing finger at Audrey.
“You should ask these two,” Audrey stood up, pointing from Stacy to Adeline. “I’m out,” She said to Andrew and turned to leave.
It was time she went to look for her amulet, but before she could take a step away from the chaos, she felt a strong pull on her hair which dragged her whole body back, causing her to kneel to the floor.
“Kneel, you bitch, and confess all your sins!” Janeth said as she roughly placed her hand over Audrey’s shoulder, stopping her from standing up.
Now, everyone’s attention was on them, Audrey didn’t want that.
She never wanted people to see her and Janeth together; but, now, they had seen them, and sure enough, she started hearing whispers.
“Oh my! Don’t they look so familiar? What’s going on?”
“Yeah, remember that slave girl that was rumored dead? She’s alive!”
“Really?! But, which one’s the real her?”
“That one on the floor seems fake, look at her hair, it’s black,”
“Yeah, the one behind is probably the original version.”
The murmur flowed effortlessly into Audrey’s ears, she balled her fists in anger, she was holding herself from killing Janeth in that instance.
“Hey, stop this right away!” Andrew drew Janeth away from Audrey.
Stacy quickly ran to help Audrey but Adeline held her back.
“Move one more inch, and I’ll kill you,” Adeline whispered subtly into Stacy’s hair.
She was enjoying the show Janeth was putting on.
Even though she was confused as hell as she stared at the identical women who were currently in a feud, she didn’t care. As long as they got rid of each other.
“Let me go!” Janeth struggled in Andrew’s hold. She managed to escape and landed a heavy slap on Audrey’s cheek.
“You bitch! Do you think you could steal my mate?! He mine! Alpha Lake is mine, you hear!” Janeth looked crazed.
It felt like she wasn’t herself anymore like she’s been blinded by jealousy and rage.
Audrey just stood there, palming her cheeks.
Again, she let Janeth slap her because this time, she wanted everyone’s attention on them because of what she was about to do.
She secretly smirked, hiding her face with her hair.
“Quiet!” Alpha Lake’s growl boomed all through the large hall.
As the Alpha king, his Alpha command got other Alphas bowing their head, and other wolves going to their knees.
He had seen everything from where he stood with other Alphas.
His rage got the better of him as he broke away from their discussion, and furiously strode toward the commotion.
“Alpha,” Janeth started sobbing.
“She’s a thief, she wants to steal you from me! Tell everyone, tell everyone we’re mates!” Janeth crawled on her knees, hugging the Alpha’s leg.
“No!” Adeline shouted but comported herself immediately as she noticed people staring at her weirdly. She has an image to protect.
“No, I mean, you don’t have to announce it to everyone, it’s something personal,” Adeline said softly, tucking her hair behind her ear.
“Get off!” Alpha Lake shook Janeth off his leg, landing her beside the standing Audrey.
Alpha Lake wondered why his Alpha command still left Audrey standing, it seemed like it did not affect her, but he knew that as a human, she was supposed to be curled up on the floor with her hands beside her head due to the painful headache she was supposed to get from it.
“I’ll fucking kill you!” Janeth brought out a knife from her clutch purse and launched at Audrey with it.
Everyone gasped in shock, afraid she would end up killing Audrey tonight.
“Stop!” Alpha Lake’s voice was quiet but deadly, crippling Janeth in her assault.
Janeth fell to the floor and Andrew quickly ran to her and used a chain to lock her wrists together.
“No! No! You’re supposed to love me! Not her! I deserve your love! You’re mine!” Janeth wrestled herself on the floor, trying to remove the chain from her hand.
“,” Audrey whispered lowly.
Stacy was the only one who heard Audrey when she whispered those weird words because she had been watching her closely all this while.
Stacy found Audrey’s quietness to be frightening.
She knew what she was capable of and she seriously feared for the chained girl whom she knew was the fake Audrey, for Audrey had revealed herself to her.
Loud gasps and sounds of shock filled the air, and everyone’s eyes were on the girl on the floor.
Unbeknown to Janeth, she didn’t know a great change had occurred within her, she slowly quieted down as she saw everyone staring at her with an unreadable expression on their faces.
“Janeth?!” Stacy was the first to call out her name.
Janeth’s body turned cold like the undead. Fear enveloped her whole being, and she broke out in cold sweat from every part of her body.
She slowly turned to Stacy to see the indescribable shock on her face, and she slowly looked down at her hands and saw the heart-shaped tattoo she had on her wrist before Enissa changed her to look like Audrey.
This confirmed that she has been exposed in front of the whole werewolf community.
She slowly turned to Alpha Lake and saw a type of rage she’d never witnessed before, his wolf had surfaced, his eyes darkened and his fangs were barred out dangerously.
She knew this was the end of the road for her. She looked at Audrey and saw her smiling secretly at her, that’s when she understood that she had been misinformed; Audrey was a witch, and, her sister didn’t have a clue, she didn’t know what she was up against. She felt betrayed.
“You dare betray me?!” Alpha Lake growled loudly.
“Argh!!!” In the blink of an eye, blood splattered everywhere.
