Maximilian adjusted his expression and said cautiously, “Leo, can you trust your vampire friend? Is there any chance this is a trap?”
Having suffered a significant loss before, Leo understood Maximilian’s suspicion. “It won’t be a trap. The self-righteous Sea Eagle Organization would never align with vampires. On the other hand, vampires who consider themselves noble are very trustworthy. The information’s authenticity is not in question.”
Maximilian nodded thoughtfully. “Regardless, we can’t wait any longer. Leo, can you set up the formation under the Sea Eagle Organization’s nose?”
“Davids Island is large. I can disguise myself as a tourist and set up the formation without much trouble,” Leo replied.
Hearing this, Maximilian made up his mind. “Alright, I’ll go to Davids Island with you!”
“I want to go too!” Knox and Vivian quickly added.
Leo shook his head and looked at Maximilian. “Mr. Ramsey, too many people going will attract attention. It’s better if I go alone to set up the formation to avoid drawing the Sea Eagle Organization’s notice.”
“Alright.” Maximilian agreed, realizing that no one else in the room understood formations except Leo, so they wouldn’t be much help.
Maximilian glanced at his watch and then at the door, muttering to himself, “What time is it? Why isn’t he here yet?”
“Who’s coming?” Vivian asked with her sharp ears.
“Trystan.”
“Who!?” Knox exclaimed suddenly.
Maximilian shot him a displeased look. “Why are you so startled? Trystan is coming.”
“Trystan…”
Knox and Vivian exchanged incredulous looks, as if Trystan was some extraordinary figure.
“Mr. Ramsey, didn’t Trystan leave the organization? How…” Vivian’s face was full of confusion.
Maximilian quickly gestured for her to be quiet and pointed towards the door.
There were no footsteps outside, but the door creaked open. A tall figure in an antique black robe appeared in their view. The person’s head was covered by the robe’s hood, making their face indistinguishable, like a ghost floating into the meeting room.
The temperature in the room seemed to drop several degrees instantly.
Although Leo didn’t use Divine Awareness to probe him, he could still feel a palpable killing intent.
Yes, killing intent!
Maximilian forced a smile and stood up. “Trystan, welcome to New York. This is Vivian, this is Knox, and this is Leo.”
Upon hearing “Leo,” Trystan turned his head towards where Leo was sitting and then stood still.
It was unclear if he was looking at Leo or just spacing out.
“Trystan, sit down. Let’s discuss our action plan,” Maximilian said, pressing his hand down.
“No need to discuss. Just kill!” Trystan’s cold voice was like a winter chill.
Maximilian’s mouth twitched slightly. “The enemy is strong. We need to wait until Leo sets up the formation on Davids Island before we act.”
“Formation?” Trystan’s tone was clearly disdainful. “Unnecessary. I need a specific time!”
As the head of the special operations team, Trystan spoke with such an attitude that Maximilian remained calm and looked at Leo for confirmation.
“By noon tomorrow, I can have the formation ready,” Leo understood the meaning behind Maximilian’s gaze.
Maximilian nodded and made the final decision. “Then we’ll act at nine tomorrow night. I’ll arrange for someone to take you to Davids Island.”
“By the way, Trystan, there’s a detailed introduction about Davids Island on the projector. You can take a look.”
Trystan stood up from his chair without even glancing at the projector screen and said, “No need. My task is to kill; I don’t care about anything else.”
With that, Trystan left the meeting room.
As Trystan left, the temperature in the room seemed to return to normal.
“Vivian, what’s Trystan’s background? Why is he so arrogant?” Leo asked Vivian.
Vivian gave a bitter smile. “I’m not entirely sure. I only know he was once a legend in WONDER, extremely powerful.”
“But also very unorganized. Other than killing, he’s not interested in anything else. So WONDER rarely assigns him tasks unless they are extremely difficult,” Knox added.
“Who do you think is stronger between Brady and him?” Leo hoped this guy was truly as arrogant as he seemed; it would make dealing with Brady easier.
Knox and Vivian exchanged glances and shook their heads simultaneously.
Vivian said, “It’s hard to say since I’ve never seen Trystan in action. I don’t know how strong he is.”
Maximilian stood up from his chair. “Alright, today’s meeting is over. Everyone go rest. We’ll proceed with the next step once Leo finishes setting up the formation!”
After leaving the meeting room, everyone returned to their rooms. Leo lay on his bed, his mind flashing between the arrogant Brady and the murderous Trystan.
His intuition told him that Trystan was very powerful. He just hoped Trystan could deal with Brady so he wouldn’t have to get involved himself.
The next morning, after changing into casual sportswear and having a quick breakfast, Leo headed to Davids Island with his suitcase.
Upon arriving on the island, it was just as described in the vampire’s information: besides the blue sea and sky, Davids Island was almost a deserted island.
The buildings were all ruins, there were no parks or people except for Leo; only flocks of seabirds inhabited various spots.
Who would have thought that such a deserted island would be the headquarters of the Sea Eagle Organization?
Leo had expected some traps or at least surveillance cameras on the island, but his Divine Awareness detected nothing.
He tried extending his Divine Awareness underground and found that it couldn’t penetrate, indicating that the underground structures had special shielding protection.
This level of protection even blocking Divine Awareness surprised Leo greatly.
Choosing a spot on the island, Leo began setting up the formation.
After nearly an hour, Leo finally completed setting up the small Sixfold Bewitching Yin-Yang Array.
This array could confuse the enemy’s mind and significantly weaken their combat effectiveness.
If someone accidentally fell into this array, they would see dense forests all around with no way out. Even if they picked a direction and kept walking straight, they would only end up going in circles.
