Chapter 1296 Returning Defeated

Seeing Knox already sitting up from the ground, Leo quickly ran over to Vivian and helped her up. “Vivian, are you okay?”
Vivian, though a bit pale, breathed steadily and replied, “I’m fine. How’s Knox?”
“He’s fine too,” Leo said, looking back to see Knox standing up.
Later, Leo learned that as long as an Esper wasn’t killed, even severe injuries wouldn’t be life-threatening and they could recover fully after treatment.
Knox limped over. “What about Brady?”
“I took care of him,” Leo pointed in the direction where Brady had fallen. “Over there…”
Leo didn’t finish his sentence because Brady’s body was gone!
Damn it, could it be another clone? If so, Leo would be furious.
Leo and Knox quickly looked around but didn’t see any sign of Brady, feeling somewhat relieved.
“Knox, Vivian, can you walk?” Leo asked, looking towards the main building.
Knox and Vivian nodded, and the three of them prepared to head to the main building to continue searching for the Yongzhou Cauldron.
After this battle, Knox and Vivian deeply realized how formidable Leo was and looked at him with newfound respect.
Inside the main building, there wasn’t a single person. Even the loyal guards were nowhere to be found.
The three split up and searched every corner of the building, including the basement, but found no trace of the Yongzhou Cauldron.
Leo was certain there was no place in the main building to hide anything because he had used Divine Awareness during his search, leaving no hidden rooms or secret compartments undiscovered.
They regrouped at the main entrance of the building, their faces showing undeniable disappointment.
After all this time and such a heavy price, they had gained nothing.
“Could the Yongzhou Cauldron be in one of the villas on the estate?” Leo speculated.
Knox nodded. “It’s possible. Let’s go check.”
They had only taken a few steps out of the main building when Vivian suddenly pointed ahead with a look of disbelief on her face. “Look, over there…”
Leo and Knox looked over and were stunned.
About ten meters from the main entrance, under the flickering light from the damaged lamps nearby, they saw a shadowy figure standing there.
Focusing their gaze, they recognized that familiar arrogant expression. It was Brady!
Impossible! They had clearly killed him!
Could it be another clone? Or had his real body revived?
Facing such an indestructible foe, Leo felt utterly exhausted.
His talismans were nearly depleted, and although he knew many secret techniques, his Spiritual Power was limited.
Leo didn’t want to be worn down by Brady in this forsaken place.
Brady’s black wings appeared again on his back, but this time they were folded.
He crossed his arms and looked at the three emerging from the main building. “Espers from Atraria, I forgot to tell you. After inheriting part of the fallen angel Lucifer’s legacy, I now have two lives.”
“And since I let your companion live, did you really think I would hide the Cauldron in this estate? How naive you Atrarians are! Hahaha!”
Leo clenched his fists and shouted, “Brady, even if you have nine lives, I’ll send you to hell!”
“Poor Atrarians, you won’t get that chance. After my resurrection, my combat power has doubled!”
“I said you and your companions wouldn’t leave this estate tonight!” Brady’s voice was colder now.
Double combat power!
Leo felt like the world had gone mad.
He had given his all to kill Brady earlier. Now facing a Brady with double combat power, Leo had no chance of winning!
Seeing Leo remain silent and motionless, Brady taunted, “I know you’re scared. But you’ve lost your chance to kill yourself. I’ll personally offer you to Satan.”
Leo still didn’t speak. Knox and Vivian also remained silent, each thinking of a way to deal with the situation.
As Brady stepped closer, Leo grabbed Knox and Vivian’s hands and whispered urgently, “Let’s go!”
Summoning all his Spiritual Power, Leo used the Escape Technique to disappear with Knox and Vivian.
Fortunately, this time the Escape Technique worked flawlessly.
Just as they vanished, a black beam struck where they had been standing.
Brady couldn’t fathom the intricacies of the Escape Technique and could only roar in frustration at the sky.
“Damn Atrarian Espers! We’ll meet again!” Brady vowed as he looked up at the night sky.
Had he known this estate was just a trap, Leo wouldn’t have fought Brady so desperately earlier.
Leo led Knox and Vivian out of the estate but had to stop not far away due to his dwindling Spiritual Power.
Vivian seemed to forget the recent danger and looked at Leo with curiosity. “Leo, what kind of spell was that? It felt like traveling through a time tunnel. So amazing!”
“It’s called Five Elements Escape,” Leo replied briefly, feeling frustrated by their failed mission.
In a small grove, they met Alden who had been waiting for them.
Alden noticed their damaged invisibility cloaks and their dejected expressions and knew the mission had failed.
Without much conversation, Alden took them back to their hotel at 1 AM.
Maximilian, who had been waiting in the conference room, quickly understood the situation and arranged for them to rest while WONDER’s medical staff checked and treated their injuries thoroughly.
Learning that Brady was in charge at the estate made Maximilian’s expression change dramatically.
He knew Brady was Sea Eagle Organization’s ace. Without Leo, Knox and Vivian might not have survived.
WONDER’s medical staff were highly skilled. Combined with Espers’ superior self-healing abilities, Knox and Vivian’s injuries were mostly healed by noon the next day.
After lunch, the four gathered in the conference room again.
Knox detailed the events of the previous night to Maximilian.
After hearing everything, Maximilian couldn’t help but punch the conference table. “Damn Sea Eagle Organization!”
