With an excited heart, Leo slowly opened the wooden box.
Inside the box was a nail, a rusty nail!
The nail was not only rust-colored but also stained with a brownish hue, resembling dried blood.
Leo froze for a moment before suddenly realizing: Could this be the nail that crucified Jesus on the cross?
But why was there only one?
Suddenly, a holy white light emanated from the box containing the nail, illuminating the entire interior of the church.
Leo quickly closed the box, and the white light vanished.
Leo could clearly feel that the nail in the box possessed an extremely powerful force. How to use this power would require further study.
Just as he was about to turn and leave, he heard a faint sound above his head. Looking up, he saw the Holy Scarab flying down towards him.
The Holy Scarab landed on the wooden box in Leo’s hand, then retracted its wings and returned to its original form.
Thus, both Christian relics were now in Leo’s possession.
Putting the Holy Scarab and the wooden box into his pocket, Leo turned towards the church door.
With the treasures in hand, it was time to return the way he came.
At the door, he used his usual Escape Technique.
“Ouch, damn it!” Leo cried out, clutching his forehead in pain.
The Escape Technique had failed, causing Leo’s forehead to make direct contact with the church door.
What now?
Leo started to feel a bit nervous.
Right, he was still in stealth mode.
Thinking this, Leo looked down at his feet.
Upon seeing them, he couldn’t help but curse again. His body had become visible; his invisibility had also failed!
How could this happen?
While Leo was still in shock and uncertainty, the church door was pushed open from the outside.
Without thinking, Leo dashed out. At the same time, alarms blared, and the guards protecting the church shouted as they chased after him.
Leo didn’t run towards the tunnel he had used before but randomly chose a direction, sprinting to shake off the pursuing guards.
After running for a while, Leo cursed his bad luck as a high wall appeared in front of him.
The wall was over ten meters high and smooth, with no handholds for climbing.
In other words, climbing it barehanded was impossible for Leo.
The guards were closing in, and one shouted, “You are surrounded! Surrender now or we’ll shoot!”
Gritting his teeth, Leo muttered, “Damn it, let’s gamble!”
He used a raging waves talisman, channeling his Spiritual Power to his feet. Then he crouched and jumped!
The scene that followed made the approaching guards’ heads move upward in unison, their eyes filled with shock: Oh my God, this intruder just jumped over!
Fortunately, the raging waves talisman hadn’t failed.
Outside the wall was grassland. After landing and rolling a few times to dissipate the impact, Leo stood up.
It was late at night, and under the moonlight, it was hard to tell where he was.
Just as Leo was about to continue running, a huge sense of danger struck him like a venomous snake from ahead.
Looking up, Leo changed color dramatically as he saw a beam of light as thick as an arm descending towards him.
Without thinking, Leo rolled on the ground as the beam struck hard into the earth.
Boom!
A muffled sound echoed as dust flew up, leaving a shocking scar on the grassland.
If that beam had hit him, Leo estimated he would have been split in two.
After missing its target, the beam swept horizontally. In desperation, Leo channeled his Spiritual Power and launched an attack talisman with his right hand while retreating rapidly.
Another loud boom followed as the talisman collided with the beam.
Brilliant sparks fell like rain, resembling countless fireflies.
The beam disappeared as a burly figure slowly approached Leo.
He wore medieval knight’s armor and held a Cross Sword. He looked like a knight from ancient times walking into the modern era.
This guy was half a head taller than Leo, with blond hair and blue eyes. His face was stern and cold. He stopped three meters away from Leo, leaning on his Cross Sword and staring coldly at him.
Leo’s eyelid twitched as he glanced back over his shoulder. In the darkness, another figure in knight’s armor appeared, also holding a Cross Sword.
With both his escape routes blocked, Leo felt a chill in his heart. Although he didn’t know who these two were, their earlier attack showed they were not simple foes.
It seemed he had underestimated Westminster Abbey. Such a place couldn’t be without special guardians.
The strangest part was that after taking the Holy Nail, both his Escape Technique and invisibility failed. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have been cornered by these two guys.
Sensing the dangerous aura emanating from them, Leo remained vigilant, calculating how to escape from here.
If not necessary, he didn’t want to fight these two here. Doing so would attract more people and put him in greater danger.
This was Great Britain, not Atraria. He didn’t know what kind of experts might be here; it was better to stay low-key.
Seeing that Leo made no further moves, the man in front spoke: “I am Berger. Behind you is Bill. Who are you and where do you come from?”
“Who I am and where I come from doesn’t matter,” Leo replied with an innocent expression. “Why are you blocking my way?”
“Don’t play dumb!” Bill snorted coldly and threatened, “No matter who you are, hand over what you stole from Westminster Abbey and come back to the church to confess to the Archbishop. Otherwise, you’ll face the punishment of the Royal Faith’s Order of Knights!”
Royal Faith’s Order of Knights?
Leo tried to recall some information he had quickly browsed before leaving his country. His face changed as he realized his bad luck; he had been caught by members of the Order of Knights.
It seemed escaping tonight would be difficult.
If worse came to worst, he’d have to fight!
Seeing Leo remain unmoved, Berger raised his Cross Sword and issued an ultimatum: “I’ll count to three. If you don’t hand over what you stole, prepare to face our wrath!”
The word “stole” sounded too harsh. Leo had always been one to resist force with force. The tougher their stance, the more it ignited his fighting spirit.
Since a fight seemed inevitable, he decided to face it fearlessly.
Leo let out a disdainful laugh: “No need to count. Let me taste your wrath!”
