Chapter 1267 Treasure Hunt

When the night grew quiet, Leo returned for another treasure hunt.
After practicing in the hotel until around 11 pm, Leo changed into a black outfit and left the hotel.
Approaching midnight, the moon had risen high in the night sky, its light reflecting off the city lights, creating a dreamy and hazy atmosphere.
Leo quietly made his way to the outskirts of Westminster Abbey.
The church’s security system was nothing to him; with a single Escape Technique, Leo entered the church.
In a blind spot of the surveillance cameras, Leo took out a Talisman and activated it, causing his body to slowly fade away into the darkness of the night.
This was an invisibility Talisman, an auxiliary type that lasted for three hours, enough for Leo to explore the church.
While invisible, Leo was undetectable by the surveillance cameras, except for infrared motion sensors.
Even though he was invisible, his physical presence still triggered the alarm system for detecting moving objects.
Leo first entered the interior of the church, then quickly made his way through a corridor towards a tower on the east side.
The reason he chose to go to the tower first was that it was not open to the public during the day. Leo suspected that there must be some hidden secrets inside, and most likely, the treasure mentioned by Holy Scarab would be there.
Although it was late at night, there were still two security guards stationed at the entrance of the tower.
They stood motionless like statues with their eyes wide open.
Leo used his Divine Awareness to survey the situation inside the tower. Not only were there guards outside, but there were also guards inside.
With such tight security, it seemed that there was something extraordinary inside.
Originally, Leo planned to walk in directly, but his Divine Awareness detected infrared motion sensors specifically designed to detect object movement. It was clear that walking in openly would not work.
Fortunately, the exterior wall of the tower was not smooth and did not have any alarm systems.
Leo quietly made his way to the back of the tower and took out another Talisman from his pocket. With a wave of his hand, he jumped up the wall like a gecko.
Using the Talisman, Leo swiftly climbed up the outer wall of the tower like a lizard. In just a few breaths, he grabbed onto a window sill about ten meters above the ground.
Looking inside, Leo dismissed the idea of entering through this window as there was most likely an alarm system installed.
He continued climbing upwards and soon reached a window sill at the top of the tower.
Peering inside, he was surprised to find security guards guarding the top of the tower as well.
Unable to do anything about it, Leo exerted force with both hands and slipped through the window silently.
Fortunately, this window did not have an infrared alarm system. Leo landed on his feet with a faint sound.
The security guard turned around upon hearing the noise but saw nothing, thinking it was just his imagination.
Leo stood up and surveyed the top of the tower. To his surprise, there was nothing here.
This was strange. If there was nothing inside, what were these guards protecting?
In fact, there was something hidden here. In a corner against the wall, there was a rotating staircase leading upwards.
This was already the top floor, but there seemed to be something above?
Curious and doubtful, Leo walked over and slowly ascended the spiral staircase.
Indeed, there was another floor above, but it was only a small space with an area of a few square meters. Inside, there was… an elevator!
Approaching it, Leo confirmed that it was indeed an elevator. However, its door had the same color as the interior of the tower.
There were no buttons next to the elevator, only a small LCD screen.
It seemed that fingerprint or an ID card was required.
Leo descended along the spiral staircase without making a sound and silently approached behind one of the security guards. He raised his hand and struck him on the back of his neck.
The security guard made no sound and collapsed to the ground.
Leo took his ID card from his neck and then ascended again using the spiral staircase.
He swiped the ID card on the LCD screen and the elevator doors opened sideways. Leo stepped inside.
The elevator doors closed, and there were no buttons or floor indicators. Leo could only feel that the elevator was descending.
After a short while, the descending elevator came to a stop. When the doors opened automatically, Leo stepped out.
Outside the elevator was a long corridor brightly lit with lights as bright as daylight. There were no security guards on duty.
Although invisible, Leo cautiously moved forward in the corridor and occasionally used Divine Awareness to detect any danger.
Coming out of the corridor, he unexpectedly found himself outside. To his surprise, there was a church ahead.
Carefully approaching the church’s main entrance under moonlight and distant lights, Leo could see security guards stationed outside and cameras positioned at high points nearby.
Leo quietly approached the entrance and then used an Escape Technique to enter directly into the church.
Inside the church, lights illuminated every corner. There was no one around except for seats on both sides and a preacher’s podium in front. There was nothing particularly notable about it.
Leo walked to the side of the podium and carefully examined it.
After searching for a while and even using Divine Awareness, he found nothing.
“This doesn’t make sense. There should be hidden passages in this church with such tight security. How can it be so ordinary?” Leo muttered to himself.
“Could it be that Holy Scarab’s information is false…” Leo slowly turned around and looked up at a statue of Jesus on the cross. “Could the secret be hidden within this statue?”
Just as Leo was about to investigate further, he felt movement in his pocket. Suddenly, Holy Scarab flew out from his pocket and headed straight for Jesus’ statue on the cross.
Only then did Leo remember the phrase on Holy Scarab’s pattern: Follow Holy Scarab’s guidance.
Holy Scarab flew to Jesus’ statue’s mouth and disappeared inside.
After about ten seconds, a clicking sound rang out, and a drawer-like compartment opened at the edge of Jesus’ statue’s base.
Leo quickly locked onto it with his Divine Awareness and immediately felt a powerful force rushing towards him like a tide.
Caught off guard, he involuntarily took two steps back.
“So this is where the treasure is!” Leo exclaimed with joy as he rushed forward.
Inside the stone drawer lay an ancient wooden box covered in thick layers of dust. Clearly, this drawer hadn’t been opened in a long time.
Without Holy Scarab, Leo would never have discovered this hidden compartment at the side of the base.
Before opening it, there were no visible gaps between it and the base when it was closed. Even with Divine Awareness, it appeared solid and impenetrable.
Leo bent down and took out the wooden box. It felt heavy in his hands. Blowing away some dust revealed numerous symbols resembling runes carved on its surface.
