Without any mercy, Shannon’s face immediately turned pale.
Ranita was feeling quite pleased.
“So, it was just a misunderstanding on my part,” Ranita said with a fake smile, her voice carrying a hint of barely noticeable annoyance. Despite her efforts to explain, Brendon could tell. “Of course, it was a misunderstanding… I spent last night at my own house…”
Shannon’s face turned pale upon hearing this and she quickly spoke in a soft and sweet voice, “Brendon, I never said that Ranita misunderstood…”
Ranita interrupted with a light laugh, “Don’t be in such a hurry. Miss Murphy, you really should introduce your new boyfriend to us. Why not let us get to know him?”
In the past, Shannon used to be like this, teasing her with ambiguous remarks.
But this time, Ranita fought back directly.
“I don’t have…” Shannon denied with a hint of grievance, “I don’t have a new boyfriend. There has always been only one person in my heart.”
“Ranita, you know better than anyone,” Shannon said coldly.
Ranita sneered, “I’m not a mind reader. I have no idea. Miss Murphy, there’s no need to explain. We understand.”
Pausing for a moment, Ranita asked Brendon, “Mr. Stuart, do you know who Miss Murphy’s new boyfriend is? Miss Murphy mentioned that it was quite intense last night, and she even has marks on her neck…”
“Ranita, please stop!” Shannon trembled with anger. She didn’t expect that this time she would end up shooting herself in the foot.
After four years, Ranita had become much more difficult to deal with than before.
“Brendon, please don’t misunderstand. You know that you were at my villa last night, watching me sleep. I wasn’t with any other man.”

Ranita blushed.

Shannon gritted her teeth and said, “Ranita, are you satisfied now? Why are you treating me like this?”
Ranita calmly put away her phone and looked at Shannon with indifference. “What did I say that made Miss Murphy so sad? If you want to tell stories, am I not allowed to find someone to tell the same story?”
“Miss Murphy, it’s better to be sincere. Sometimes when you tell too many lies, you start believing them yourself.”
Ranita called Martha in without even lifting her head and said, “Miss Murphy, we’re done with the digressions. Let’s get back to business.”
Shannon was still wiping away tears, looking pitiful.
“Ranita, what do you mean?! Can’t you see that Shannon is feeling down and upset? Do you have to push her like this?”
Cindy stood up for Shannon and directed her anger towards Ranita.
“Cindy, your words are quite interesting. Whether she’s feeling down or upset is her own business. I’ve already wasted enough time listening to her nonsense. What more do you want from me?”
Ranita forcefully slammed the documents on the table. “Miss Murphy, my time is precious. Please don’t waste each other’s time.”
