Chapter 55

Book:Wanting Her Back Published:2024-6-8

I gently got out of bed as I became hungry. In my bedroom, I switched on the light.
I started by meditating a few times because I was too lazy to walk to the kitchen but needed to eat. I don”t want to bother our maid by waking up since I”m too lazy to walk.
As I forced myself to walk, I let out a long sigh. I was sluggish, but my hunger won out.
I slid open the door to my room slowly. I drew my head out of the door and looked down the corridor. Since midnight, almost all of the lights in the home have been turned out.
I first placed my phone on my nightstand to provide light into the kitchen.
It”s difficult; I”m afraid I”ll trip or collide with a wall.
I made my way slowly to the kitchen. I”m very grateful that the house isn”t too big. Because of my illness, I also find it difficult to walk great distances.
These days, I open the fridge and hunt for my favorite food. I enjoy eating marshmallows that have been dipped in a creamy cheese sauce.
My smile became wider when I discovered a package of marshmallows in the refrigerator. I accepted it and sat on the chair.
I like to eat marshmallows that have been dipped in melted cheese. I didn”t bother turning on the light in the kitchen and instead relied on the light from my phone to see around.
When the light came on, I was in the middle of eating. I let out a shout of surprise.
Aiden walked into the kitchen, his eyes still closed. As he got closer to me, he even blinked his eyes.
His hair is a complete disaster. He kissed me on the forehead and messed up my already messed up hair when he moved near to me.
I simply didn”t notice what he was doing.
Because of what he did, I don”t have time to banter with him because I ate so much excellent food.
He sat down in front of me after fetching cold water from the refrigerator. As he looked at what I was consuming, his brows furrowed.
“Would you like some?” I inquired as I showed him a piece of cheese-coated marshmallow. He shook his head at me, winced.
I just shrugged. The reality is that I didn”t really want to share my marshmallows with him, but I did so out of politeness. Thankfully, he declined.
As he questioned me, he pondered aloud, “Is that really delicious?”
He gave me a contemptuous look while I was eating. With a wide smile on my lips, I gave him a lot of nods.
He dipped a piece of marshmallow in the cheese and ate it. As he ate, I waited for his reaction. When he eventually ate it, I saw his face scrunch in annoyance.
“All I can say is that pregnant ladies have strange taste senses; what do you like to eat tbi? That tastes dreadful to me,” he replied, a smear on his cheek.
His reaction made me giggle. He appears to despise the food he consumes.
“However, that marshmallow of yours will taste wonderful with hot chocolate,” he added.
He got up and pretended to be making hot chocolate. The prospect of a hot chocolate makes me salivate. I give him a sweet smile as I blink my eyes at him.
“Fine, I”ll make you a hot choco as well. Tsk, you”ve been such a lazy pregnant woman, Anna,” he said, turning away from me to make us a hot chocolate drink.
I patiently await the arrival of my hot chocolate.
My grin deepened as he placed the still smoldering hot chocolate drink in front of me. He topped it with a marshmallow. I just stood there and watched him do it.
He shifted his glance to me in surprise as he realized I was staring at him. As he stared at me, his brows were lifted.
I gave him a lovely grin. Even more astonished was his reaction.
“I just realized how attractive you are, A,” I murmured as I awoke.
When he suddenly choked, even though he wasn”t eating anything, I burst out laughing. He gives me a cold stare.
“Will you please warn me first before you say such things?” he asked, his face flushed.
His hot face made me laugh out loud. He didn”t appear to anticipate what I was about to say, so he was taken aback when he heard what I said.
“Tell me, A. Do you still like me?” I asked, a wide smile on my face.
I was joking him, but I was taken aback by the intensity of his expression. He looked me dead in the eyes. Before speaking, he let out a long sigh.
He didn”t break our eye contact and said, “No, I don”t like you, Anna. I don”t like you because I love you.”
Because of what he said, I blinked. He spoke before I could even finish my sentence, effectively cutting me off.
When he said it, a smile crept across my lips.
“Why?” I asked. “Is it because I”m fat now and my stomach is big, and you don”t like me any longer? I was your crush back then, eh?” When he saw me sulk, he shook his head.
“Of course not. I”m just tired of your face. Just kidding,” he quickly reversed his statement after seeing my death glare.
“I”ve seen you at your lowest moments, Anna. I”ve seen you cry all night. I”ve seen your hurt look, and you know what, when I see you suffering, I”ve imprinted on my brain and heart that I will take care of and love you.”
“That”s when I realized I don”t even need you to love me romantically because just seeing you happy is enough for me,” he remarked, a sweet smile on his lips.
“And since I”ve taken care of you and seen you at your most vulnerable, I swear to myself that I”ll shield you from that heartache again; I feel like an old brother trying to twist the heads of the men who are staring at you,” he said, laughing.
Because of what he stated, I also laughed. What he said is correct.
When we went to see my obstetrician, he was upset because the nurses were staring at me. Tss, he”s getting a little too protective as time goes on.
I feel like I got a stricto on the spur of the moment.
As a result of his activities, he has a brother.
“Thank you, A,” I expressed my gratitude. He gave me a beautiful smile.
“When I didn”t know what to do, you were there and you didn”t abandon me; you even left the Philippines just so I could have someone to look after me,” I sobbed. When he saw my face, he laughed. She let out a sigh.
“The truth is, I just really want to live here in Paris, so I came with you when you said you”d live here to leave your useless spouse,” he added, a grating grin on his face.
I flung a marshmallow in his direction.
“You”re really destroying the mood, A. Tsk, I”m serious here, eh,” I said, pouting at him.
The obnoxious individual simply laughed at me. I give him a sidelong glance.
“But seriously, A. I am grateful to you; without you and Lyka by my side, I don”t know what my life would be like now,” I whispered passionately to him, a lovely smile on my face.
I recall instances when I was constantly crying and felt almost overwhelmed by the pain I was experiencing.
They never abandoned me even when I felt alone. They are never far from my side.
They carefully cared for me throughout those difficult times, despite my obstinacy. During those times, I almost lost my kid because I disregarded myself, didn”t eat, and simply cried.
After leaving Alessandre and deciding to live in France, it was my existence for over two months. They encouraged me to flee when I expressed my desire to do so. He even accompanied me here.
He pursued his studies here while caring for me.
They even booked our travel in case Alessandre decided to look for me, which I doubt because I”m sure he”s happy with his new family, and he can”t locate me.
“Tsk,” he responded, “that”s what friends do for each other; if I were in your circumstances, I”d do the same.” Because of what he stated, I swiftly shook my head.
“No, I won”t do the same,” I stated emphatically.
I”m quite confident I”m not going to do it. She couldn”t believe she stared at me when his lips parted.
He cried, “My goodness! The arrogance!” What he said made me giggle.
This morning, I awoke early. I suddenly decided to go for a walk down a Parisian street.
I”m not sure what passed through my mind; I just woke up in a good mood this morning and decided to take a tour of Paris.
I”ve been in Paris for four months and have yet to take a tour of the city. I was always in a bad mood and preferred to stay in bed rather than go out.
Because A is at school when I want to go out, I don”t go for walks because I don”t have somebody to accompany me.
I don”t want to be alone in this place. I”m frightened of getting lost because there are so many people here.
It would be lovely if Paris were a small town with only a few tourists, but that is not the case. Another reason I don”t leave the house without A is because I don”t know how to communicate in French. The only French word I know is “french fries.” Tsk.
Because it is no longer cold here, I wore very light clothing. I”m wearing a black pregnancy overall dress with grommet eyelets and a knot strap. I wore it with a pair of sneakers.
I didn”t wear heels much before I was pregnant, and I don”t wear them much now that I am.
My plan was to take Aiden for a walk, but I found him deep sleeping in front of his laptop.
At his desk, the man is hunched over. It appears that the man has been studying all night and has fallen asleep while sitting in the aftermath.
I wrapped a blanket across his body. I also turned down the air conditioning to keep him warm.
I cooked her breakfast first before I went. He, like someone I knew, like a hearty breakfast. I shook my head to clear my mind of the recollections that were resurfacing.
I returned to Aiden”s room after covering the breakfast and cooking for him. I left him a note claiming that I was going for a walk.
Before leaving, I kiss his forehead.
When I watched bustling individuals going down a crowded Paris street, I grinned. Walking along the street, I notice a large number of tourists.
The view is lovely, and even when I”m just going around, I feel at ease.
My senses were awakened by the sweet aroma of macaroons. I”m used to the scent because it”s something A frequently buys for me.
It”s also a personal favorite of mine. Isn”t it strange that my infant enjoys both sweet and salty foods?
I went out and looked for the mentioned restaurant right away. When I saw that, I smiled. It”s a cafe that specializes in various macaron varieties.
I was struck by lightning. With a smile on my face, I walked into the cafe.
This cafe has a really calm ambiance. Although there are numerous people inside the cafe, the environment is quiet and it does not appear to be overcrowded.
Tourists appear to come here when they”ve had enough of the noise outside.
I approached the counter and placed an order for a matcha tea and a dozen macarons.
French macaroons come in a variety of flavors, so I”m looking forward to trying them.
I took a seat at the table I had chosen. As my back settles on the leather seat, I exhale a sigh of relaxation. I rubbed my hands together and stroked my large stomach.
I”m six months pregnant, and my belly is rather noticeable. It was like though I had consumed a large watermelon.
I took a peek around while waiting for my food. When I saw that this cafe also has books for guests to read while they wait for their orders, I grinned.
I took out a book and began reading. When the waiter delivered my order on my table, I was completely absorbed in the book I was reading.
Because my heart didn”t suddenly beat quickly, I wouldn”t have disregarded it because I was engrossed in the book I was reading.
I”ve only felt it once in the four months I”ve been here.
When that individual is near, my heart used to beat like this as well. My nose was also filled with the familiar male aroma that I sorely miss. I raised my eyes to the waiter, but I couldn”t quite reach him.
I could only see his back as he was already walking away. I”m even familiar with his physique.
With a shake of my head, I expressed my dissatisfaction with the situation. Anna, please come to a complete stop right now. Put him out of your mind.
You”ve been ruined by him, but you”re still thinking about him.
I gladly consumed the dish that I had ordered.
Fortunately, the macaroons were fantastic, so I was having a good time and forgot about my coffee thirst.
I was eating my meal when a server appeared at my table and dropped several additional macaroons on top of the matcha tea.
I was curious, so I fixed my focus on him.
“Ahm, I didn”t order for it; I believe you brought that order to the wrong table,” I politely said, hoping the server would understand.
He only grinned at me as he placed the meal he had brought on my table.
As I witnessed what he was doing, my jaw dropped wide. Didn”t he get what I was saying? Is that something I”ll have to pay for as well?
He smiled at me again when he placed the meal he had brought on my table.
Yes, he”s attractive, but it”s not enough to make me forget about the meal he delivered to my table despite the fact that I didn”t request it.
He smiled as he added, “Someone wants to give you this, Maam. It”s already paid, so you don”t have to worry.” My scowl intensified on my brow.
“Who would do that?” I questioned. He simply grinned at me and muttered something in French that I couldn”t understand.
He grinned at me after speaking French. I just smiled at him, hoping that he”d speak to me in French. I”m still unable to communicate in French. Maybe when that happens, my head just bleeds.
“Where are you?” That was immediately the opening that his father, Sandro Villareal, told him when he answered the call. It turns out that he called her several times but only now did he answer it because he was very sleepy before.
“I’m at the house, Dad.” He said sleepily. He even kicked the beer cans scattered on the floor.
“Are ypu drunk again, Alessandre?” His father asked him angrily but not like before, he didn’t feel scared from it. He drank the wine in front of him again as he talked to his father on his telephone.
