“Do you really mean to murder yourself with booze? Alessandre, it has been four months since your wife left you and all you did is drown yourself in wine!” His father cried angrily on the other line.
He could sense her displeasure with him.
He found out about the agony he had perpetrated on Anna during the initial months of their marriage when she left him. His father found out about everything, from the moment he took another woman into their home to the time he tortured the woman.
That is why he is enraged with him. When he learnt of Anna”s struggles with him, he was on the verge of disowning him. Lila, his mother, has not spoken to him in a long time.
It is enraged by what he done, which he well comprehends. He is also aware of the source of his rage. Even he despised himself for what he had done to his wife.
“Fix yourself, Alessandre Atlas. Your Mom and I will be there in an hour. If you want your Mommy and you to get along, fix your life. You are not a child,” his Dad told him before hanging up.
He takes a deep breath and puffs. For a few minutes, he laid in his bed. He closed his eyes and remembered his lovely wife”s lovely face.
He eventually stood up after a hard battle with himself.
He took a drag from his cigarette before picking up the strewn beer bottles inside his bed. He also drew the curtain back to allow more light into the room. He also slid the windows open.
He let out a long sigh as he finally viewed the inside of the master bedroom, which he and his wife shared. When his wife was still there, the room was quite neat and ordered, but now it appears like a strong storm has passed through it.
It has been some months since the bedsheet has been replaced and laundered. Because he was immersing himself in drink and does not care if the room is messy, the entire room reeked of alcohol.
He took a shower after clearing up the entire mess in the room.
While waiting for his parents to come, he went to his house”s garden and smoked.
As he gazed into the distance, he took a big breath.
A smiling face of a woman she truly misses appears in his mind. When he remembered the woman who had driven him insane and worried him for the past four months, his heart wrenched.
He did not imagine he would lose her on that particular day. He yelled at Cassy because he was so frightened about her pregnancy.
Every night, her defeated face stalks him.
The way she looked at him with her hurt obvious in her eyes is still a nightmare in his thoughts. She even pleaded with him to pick her.
He is well aware that he has taken her for granted. He was certain she would not abandon him. She stayed with him even when he brought another woman home, and she did not leave her even when he tortured her, so he knew she would not abandon him.
He is sorry for what he did at the time.
If only he would told her about Cassy”s health and his responsibility to the kid in her womb, she might have believed him.
She would not have occurred if he had simply told her the truth. Perhaps she will not abandon him.
He wiped the tears from his cheeks as swiftly as he could.
This has been his way of life for the past four months since his wife left him. To forget the anguish of being alone, he is drowning himself in alcohol.
The woman seemed to have finally recognized how useless he is and has come to her senses. Perhaps the woman was sick of the suffering he had caused her, so she fled.
He despised himself for the wrongs he had committed on his wife. When Anna leaves him, he learns how significant the lady is to him for the first time.
When he awoke the next morning, the cheerful woman who had greeted him was no longer there, and no one had prepared his clothes for the office. He returned home to a silent and empty house that had previously been filled with her laughter.
Now that she was gone, the home felt chilly. Since Anna”s departure, his life has taken a turn for the worse.
She is his beacon, the one who keeps him on course. He enjoys working in the workplace because of her.
He was always eager to return home, and he would arrive to find his wife preparing their meals. It is different now.
He despises returning home because the woman who genuinely makes his house a home is no longer with him. Without her, his house is merely a piece of infrastructure. He has made her his home.
When he heard his father”s car pull into the garage, his meditation was disrupted. Before entering the home, he tossed the cigarette butt.
He had stopped smoking for a long time, but it appears that his habit is returning as a result of his wife leaving him.
When he saw his parents in the living room, they grimaced. His mother scans the entire house.
When he walked in, all eyes were drawn to him.
His mother”s eyes were frigid as she looked at him. His mother”s behavior toward him no longer startled him. She adored Anna and was furious when she learned of what she had gone through with him.
“What brought you here, Mom and Dad?” he inquired after kissing his parents” cheeks.
When he approached his mother, he noticed how she flinched. Maybe she detected the odor of cigarettes on his clothing.
“Are you smoking again, son?” Sandro inquired thoughtfully. When his mother heard this, she gave him a hard stare.
“No wonder!” his mother snarled. “Perhaps his woman influenced him again, Sandro.”
With a big sigh, he exhaled deeply.
“I suppose that is what your son wants, Sandro; he let Anna go for that useless lady,” his mother stated once more. He can”t deny that she”s furious with him.
“I warned you about that woman, Alessandre, innumerable times! She is not a good influence on you!” his mother yelled at him.
When he heard his mother”s voice raise, he just bent his head. He is to blame.
“You dare to hurt, Annalise,” his mother exclaimed, “do you know what that girl went through?”
She no longer shouts and speaks gently, but her eyes express her displeasure in him.
“Imagine how painful it is for a young girl to lose her parents at such a young age. There is nothing left of her, no matter who. Did you know she was shivering in the cold when we found her? She was crying her heart out at her parents” grave when it was pouring so hard,” his mother explained.
Her eyes have a sparkle of tears in them, but she keeps them from dripping.
“We shielded her, we gave her our care because she is broken; the death of her parents traumatized her to the point that she attempted suicide.”
“Imagine a young woman cutting her wrists because she is so drowned in pain that all she wants to do is end her life. We took her to a Psychiatrist for treatment. In the day to day created by God, we witness how she struggles to fight her anxiety attack. We hear her heart-breaking cries, pleading God to end her sufferings,” his mother explained.
When he heard that, his tears began to flow slowly. He felt as if he could not breathe properly and was in pain when he heard his mother”s words.
He was never aware of such things. He had no idea such things had occurred before. The only thing on his mind at the time was avoiding the girl.
“She fought her anxiety attacks for almost three years, and when she was able to recover, she was bullied again at school. She was bullied for being an orphan, and she always came home with her uniform dirty. At first, she did not tell us anything, but one time, your Dad and I were just called to her school. She was involved in a fight. Her body is full of scratches because five of her classmates worked together to hurt her.”
When he heard what his mother said, his teeth chattered. His heart heaved with rage for those who had previously wronged Anna.
He intended to track them down and punish them, as they had tortured his beloved wife.
“She has been through a lot, son. She is a shattered soul, but instead of caring for herself, she is more concerned with the well-being of others. She is selfless and pure. Why do you have to taint and damage her?” his mother asked.
As she glanced at him, tears welled up in her eyes. When he learned about Annalise”s struggles, his former self was immersed in remorse.
It never occurred to him that the woman had gone to such lengths.
He assumed she was in good health because she was always smiling and upbeat. He was completely oblivious to the fact that she was having difficulties. He did not hear her complain once.
“Did you know she even begged us to call off the wedding because she is terrified of how you will react?” his father added.
When he heard what he said, he swiftly shifted his look to him. As he glanced at his father, his brow furrowed and his eyes questioned.
“Don”t you know?” his father exclaimed, “she requested us to call off the wedding right after I announced it that night on her birthday.”
What he discovered made him stiffen. Because of this, he despised her. He pondered…
He asked his parents, perplexed, “I thought she was the one who initiated our engagement?” His father gave him a frown.
“What are you talking about, Alessandre? We decided to marry you to Anna, and she had nothing to do with our decision,” his mother Lila explained. He stared at his parents, full of questions.
“Do you think we do not know what you and Cassy are up to?” her mother asked, her teeth chattering.
When she stated it, his eyes widened. Because of what he heard from his mother, he became pale and appeared to have blood streaming down his cheeks.
“Why do you think your mother and I are so opposed to her being your girlfriend?” his father asked. “Do you think we wanted to lead you to whoever you love just because we wanted to?”
What Cassy and he had done before came back to haunt him. It was because of the woman that he learned to smoke. Because of the woman, he had to try an illicit drug. Because of the woman, he learnt to club and almost abandoned his education, as well as his father”s business.
His mother screamed angrily, “You even got her pregnant! My god, Alessandre!” Because of what his mother Lila said, he was on the verge of fainting.
He could not help but yell at his mother, “Mom! Who told you that?” When he saw his father”s black visage, he simply came to a halt.
“When did you learn to scream at your mother, Alessandre Atlas Villareal?” said his father, Sandro, angrily.
“I am sorry, Dad,” he explained, “but I am just amazed you knew about it.”
When he said that, his mother gave him a more serious look.
“Why?” his mother sarcastically asked. “Don”t you know that woman is telling the entire nation that the child she gave birth to last month is yours?” Because of what his mother stated, his eyes widened.
“What the hell? I do not have a child with another woman, Mom! Yes, I fuck her, Mom, but I am quite sure I am not the father of her child!” he exclaimed, his parents” eyes widening in surprise.
The yell of his father, “Alessandre!” reverberated throughout the house.
“I apologize for my comments, Mom and Dad, but what I said is true: I am not the father of her child,” he added, irritated that he had messed up his own hair.
I made it obvious to Cassy that she should spare me from her lies, but she did not listen. That woman is going to get a taste of my wrath.
She has no right to bring my name into disrepute!
“What exactly do you mean, Alessandre? Are you sure you are not the father of that child?” his father asked, his voice and face solemn.
He groaned heavily and quietly nodded.
When Cassy gave birth to the child, he promptly ordered a paternity test on himself and the infant, which came back negative, indicating that he was not the child”s father.
His mother sighed heavily as she heard him say, “Yes, Dad. I have a medical record indicating that I am not the father of Cassy”s child.”
His mother clenched her teeth and shouted, “That bitch! I am going to skin her alive!”
He winced when he noticed the rage in her eyes. When his mother gets upset, she can be rather intimidating.
“What are your plans then?” his father said a few minutes later.
“Do not worry, Dad. I will take care of Cassy myself. I will make sure she is shut up,” he began, but his mother interrupted him.
“No, I will deal with her; I will show her how not to enrage a Lila Villareal; how dare she harm my Annalise and drag my son into humiliation,” his mother replied.
Instead of disputing his mother”s desires, he instantly shut his mouth and nodded.
“You should be doing something more important, Alessandre,” his father advised. “Leave it to your mother to deal with your crazy ex girlfriend.”
His father addressed him a serious inquiry about the divorce papers that his wife, Anna, had signed.
When he remembered the divorce papers he had received mere days after his wife had left him, he got a headache.
The wife has already signed it, and just her signature is required to permanently dissolve their marriage.
“I am not going to sign that, Dad,” he declared emphatically.
His father has a frightening grin on his face. He had never seen his father smile like that before, so he could not help but be taken aback. It was as if he is plotting something evil.
“Then, what are you still doing here?” he said, his sneer lingering on his face.
He was taken aback when he saw his father. He also noticed his mother scoffing at him, as though she was displeased in what he had said.
“Tsk, are you truly a Villareal? Why do I think you have the poorest strategy of all the Villareals?” his mother asked, raising an eyebrow at him. Because of what she said, his mouth is hanging open.
“Tsk,” his mother replied, “here you are, drowning yourself in alcohol and cigarettes, acting like a complete fool instead of seeking for your wife; I am beginning to think Anna should have just left you as soon as possible.”
He clenched his teeth, irritated by his mother”s words.
“It is easier said than done!” he grumbled to his mother, who simply rolled her eyes at him.
His father described him as “feisty.”
To his parents, he rolled his eyes. They appear to have gone to his house to harass and harm him. They may have forgotten that he was their son.
“It is up to you if you wait a few more years before looking for Anna; who knows, maybe she is with a man right now. Poor you, the great Alessandre Atlas Villareal, it appears that Anna is going to leave you forever; well, you deserve it, you treated her so poorly,” his mother added. He felt guilty once more.
Days passed fast, and he appeared to lose himself as time went on. He had a strong desire to see and hug his wife.
He is on a mission to find him. He hired professional investigators to help him find his wife, but no findings have been found so far.
“What the fuck is this?! Do not you have another plausible concept?! I am not paying you to slack off! Repeat these! If you do not come up with a new proposal before the end of the day, you will be fired!” he yelled.
His staff are virtually sprinting to get out of his office as quickly as possible.
He arrived at the office early, despite the fact that he was still tired.
His scumbag pals offered to assist him in his search for his wife if he would drink with them.
He felt as if his kidneys were on fire as a result of drinking too much.
As much as he wants to turn down his friends” invitation, he knows that his crazed buddies will be invaluable in helping him find his wife. They are all powerful people with a diverse network of contacts.
They would not let him go home until he was unable to walk properly. The sharpness of the wine they drank is still present in his mouth, and he can taste it.
He was squeezing his temple when he felt a sharp pain in his head. Those jerks are a joke. When they require his assistance, he will promptly respond.
He would never let them dictate to him if he did not actually need their support. Those jerks take advantage of his predicament to mock him.
His throbbing head is driving him insane, so he asks his secretary to go out and buy him a cup of coffee.
His parents have not spoken to him in a week. They advised him to look for his wife if he was serious about reuniting with her. When he sought his parents for assistance, his mother just kicked him.
His parents refused to assist him in his search for his wife. Because it was his responsibility that Anna left him, they believe he should also rectify the disaster he created.
