Chapter 34

Book:Wanting Her Back Published:2024-6-8

After a few pictures from Lyka, Aiden was allowed to drink his wine.
Lyka checked her photos to see if she was doing it correctly, and when she saw that she was, she drank the wine in her glass. She drank all of the wine in her glass in one go.
What she did made my eyes widen. Is she all right? Although this is her first time drinking, she appears to be very comfortable with the manner she drinks. Oh, my god. With what Lyka is doing, I will be old in no time.
“How does it taste?” I inquire, my curiosity piqued. Lyka was taken aback by what I said and her gaze was drawn to mine.
She gave me a big smile before answering my query.
“It is sweet, Anna,” she remarked, smiling broadly at me. “I promise, it is not bitter.” The way she smiled made me uneasy. I am not sure I believe what this woman is saying, and I am afraid I am going to fall for Lyka”s falsehoods.
“Taste it to believe it,” she urged, urging me to finish my glass of wine. She even gives me a nod, as if encouraging me to drink the wine I was holding.
I shifted my focus to the glass in my hand. I checked the contents of my glass with great care. I shook the glass to see how the red liquid within moved.
I took a sniff and did not detect anything unusual about the wine.
I was even hesitant to sip the wine, but Lyka was staring at me, so I could not help myself. I drank the wine with my eyes closed and was taken aback by its flavor. Lyka was absolutely correct. It is not bitter at all, and it is quite sweet. I was stunned by the flavor of my empty glass.
When Lyka saw me drinking the wine she had given me, she applauded. As she stares at me, she even has the appearance of a proud mother. She is, without a doubt, the one who instills in me the most bizarre thoughts.
She winked at me and added, “See? It does not taste that horrible.” Aiden shook his head in her direction, which I noticed.
Lyka, on the other hand, was overjoyed at the prospect of re-pouring the wine into her wine glass. I was going to stop her from drinking too much, but I knew that even if I did, she would still refuse to listen to me, so I just let her do what she wanted. After all, she asked Uncle for permission, so I think it is fine.
Isn”t it true that if we arrive home drunk, we won”t be reprimanded?
“So, Aiden, it appears that what I said before was correct. You have been drinking for a long time, haven”t you? Tell us the truth,” Lyka added, smiling. She even gave Aiden a small nudge with her finger.
I cast a curious glance towards Aiden. I, too, was curious as to when he began to use alcoholic beverages.
Aiden appeared to be well-versed in the consumption of alcoholic beverages.
He shrugged when we asked him a question. His response irritated both Lyka and me. We were so enthralled by his story that he refused to explain it to us.
Aiden burst out laughing at our reaction. He appears to take pleasure in keeping us engrossed in his story.
“Tell us, Aiden. We will not report you to Auntie, eh. We will not spread the news, promise!” she says, raising her left hand to demonstrate that she is telling the truth and that she will not inform Auntie.
What she did made me giggle. To stop her from continuing her antics, I lightly tapped her shoulder with mine.
“Your right hand is used to making promises, moron,” I smirked.
She burst out laughing at what I said. She even used her fingers to make a peace sign with Aiden. We were amused by what she did.
“Anyway, Aiden, when did you start drinking? You are being a bit frugal in the story,” she added.
I nodded in agreement with Lyka”s statement. Aiden let out a long sigh as he stared at me and Lyka. When we observed Aiden”s defeated expression, Lyka and I giggled gently. With Lyka and me being mean, he is not going to win.
While waiting for him to speak, I stare at him with a curious expression on my face. As we awaited Aiden”s story, we looked like two toddlers.
“Hmm, let me think,” he said as he drank the wine in his glass. “I first had a taste of alcohol when I was in my first year of high school, so I was probably eleven years old at the time.” Lyka and I exchanged nods.
“Wow, you are also insane, A. How did you keep it from your parents so you did not get caught?” I inquire, my curiosity piqued.
Aiden softly flipped my brow in response to what I stated. Because of what he did, I rub my brow. When I saw Aiden smiling at me, I grimaced.
He grinned and added, “Why are you two so curious, huh? You even appear amazed at what I accomplished.”
“Do not tell me you are going to do the same thing I did?” he asked.
His grin is gradually becoming a frown. Aiden”s comments made us laugh out loud. “You just gave her the idea, A,” I remarked between guffaws, pointing to Lyka”s grin. When he knows what I am talking about, all he can do is shake his head.
“You are so great, buddy!” Lyka exclaimed loudly, smiling. Aiden snatched the pillow from behind him and tossed it at Lyka. As a result of Lyka”s drudgery, the woman laughed.
She mocked Aiden with a ridiculous chuckle, saying, “Oh, you look intoxicated, guy. Your aim is failing. Anna and I beat you, eh.”
“If you become drunk right now, Lyka,” Aiden said, “I will really laugh at you later when you vomit from being so drunk.” Aiden did not lose, and he also silenced Lyka.
Aiden”s words made Lyka”s face flush. Ladies and gentlemen, the squabble between the two kids with me is going to erupt once more.
Lyka”s remark to Aiden, “Huh! Let us see who gets drunk first,” backfired. Aiden merely gave her an obnoxious grin to irritate her even more. Aiden”s teasing seemed to succeed since I noticed Lyka”s brow wrinkle as a result of what he said.
Aiden”s face is now lit up with a triumphant grin.
I closed my eyes and took in their conversation. Inhale, exhale, hay, hay, hay, hay, hay, hay,
I have no intention of intervening in their quarrel. It is not my life, but theirs. They are, after all, accustomed to battling. They fight virtually every day, thus my ears seem to be immune to their noise for some reason.
When Lyka abruptly slammed her glass on the table, I almost panicked. It suddenly created a huge roar that nearly knocked me off my feet as I sat on the grass.
As I turned away from her to reprimand her for shocking me, Lyka”s eyes glazed over as she glanced at Aiden.
I just did not say anything since I was afraid I would be the one to whom she would express her rage instead of Aiden if she was annoyed by Aiden. Meanwhile, the insane man sat on the lawn, sniffing the wine in his glass and smiling.
Is this the start of a war? Yes, I believe so. I took a step back from the crime scene of my two insane pals” conflict.
“Annalize Fay, remain put,” Lyka urged gravely after stopping me from backing away from them.
I took a long breath and returned to my previous position, frowning.
“That is what you want, huh? Fine. Let us sip the entirety of this wine; whoever falls first will be the loser,” she stated solemnly. What I heard made me squirm.
“You two are the ones you are referring to there, right Lyka? I was not involved in the battle between you two, and I am out of the drinking party that is going to take place between you. Hehe,” I replied, wincing and smiling at Lyka.
I have a bad feeling about the outcome of this confrontation between these two.
I need to keep away from them as long as I can. It would be beneficial if I disclosed what was about to happen to her so that I would be protected in whatever they planned to do.
“And who said we would be the only ones who would drink it all? You cannot deceive me, Anna, baby,” Lyka replied with a broad grin. For what she said, I almost twiddled her hair. I wish I could have intervened sooner to prevent them from fighting. If I just did not let them bicker again, none of this would happen.
“Come here, Anna. Now we will see who of the three of us is the best drinker,” she stated triumphantly as she observed Aiden”s actions.
“Lyka, are you already insane? What are you talking about, huh? It is evident that Aiden has a larger tolerance for alcohol than you because, as he mentioned, he has been drinking for a long time. You are just going to lose, lady,” I muttered quietly. I even turned to check at Aiden to see if he was looking at us.
With a chuckle, he continued, “I can fully hear what you are whispering Anna; do not try to lower your voice because I can hear you.” I was irritated with him and pouted at his direction.
“Tss, Anna, it is just a wine; I am sure I will not become drunk right away,” Lyka said quietly.
I could not help but scowl at what she said. Her head is pretty harsh on this girl.
Lyka filled our glass with wine after we placed it on the table.
Once upon a time, we used to say, “Cheers!”
As I drank the wine, I winced.
Okay, Anna, this is just a glass of wine. This wine will not make you inebriated. Uncle drinks it from time to time, but he never gets intoxicated. I suppose the wine pales in comparison to whiskey and rum.
As Aiden previously stated, consuming whiskey or rum can get you really inebriated, especially if you are not used to drinking.
That is probably one of the reasons Aiden seems relaxed with the fact that we drank wine, which is not intoxicating.
It is sweet; it tastes like I am drinking juice, therefore the wine Lyka bought may have a low alcohol content. Where did Lyka get it, exactly?
Previously, I had never seen any wine in the foods we purchased. Is it possible that she has had this wine for a long time and has intended to invite us to taste it for a long time?
I have already had several glasses of wine and am still in good spirits. I am not yet dizzy or nauseated. Aiden and Lyka caught my gaze. They appear to be in good health.
Aiden even got a roll of the eyes from Lyka. This woman is completely insane. As I stared at her, I shook my head.
I grabbed some chips and ate them while drinking the wine. It was as if I am consuming juice. I did not even feel like I was drinking, so I was not worried about getting tipsy.
I refilled my glass with wine and drank it after finishing the chips. A sequence of wine beverages resulted from my few drinks.
While my two companions were arguing and trying to annoy each other, I was enjoying a glass of wine. They don”t notice me because they are too preoccupied with boasting to one another.
It was as if I were co-viewing a drama with them all the time. After that, I ate chips and drank wine once more.
“Hey! Fix the wine transfer in my glass! You poured a lot in mine while you just placed a little in yours! Tsk, frightened now that I could beat you, Aiden?” I overheard Lyka exclaim angrily.
He asked, “How can I put what I am translating into my glass when the bottle is already empty?” As he said it, A”s voice sounded astonished.
Looking down at the grass, I raised my head. Why do I have a heavy feeling in my head? My eyelids, too, have become heavier.
“Are you kidding me? I have just had a few glasses of wine, and I do not think I have even consumed ten glasses of wine,” Lyka exclaimed, stunned. She then walked over to Aiden”s seat to check if the wine bottle was truly empty.
Lyka”s brows furrow as she says, “Perhaps you threw it away.” Aiden gave her a frown as well.
“Why would I throw it away?” he asked, his brow raised at Lyka. “I can easily defeat you, darling; I do not have to do such a scheme just to prove that I am a better drinker than you.” Aiden”s words drew Lyka”s brows together.
“Then, if you did not just throw away the contents of the bottle, where did the other half of the wine go?” “It was full before, and we only drank a few glasses; it is impossible for me to throw away the contents, right?” I observed them both glancing at each other.
I could not help but guffaw at the way they appeared. They appear to be fools as they stare at each other, both holding the now-empty bottle of alcohol.
Their gazes were drawn to me by the two of them. As they stared at me, their eyes widened.
“You!” A said loudly to me, pointing at me with his index finger, or is it his thumb? Aiden used his index finger or thumb to point towards me, but I cannot tell.
Aiden inquired, “Are you the one who drained this bottle, Anna?”
I shook my head swiftly in his way. I did not drink much. I did not finish it because the bottle was only halfway full. Tsk, it appears that Lyka was duped when she bought that wine.
“Do not lie to me, Anna; you did drink the wine, didn”t you?” Aiden inquired once more. I shook my head at him once again. When I suddenly hicupped, I covered my mouth. I burst out laughing. I hiccupped once again, causing me to chuckle once more.
“Unbelievable, you drank the entire contents of this bottle? Are you all right, friend?” Lyka inquired as she awoke from her stupor.
“Guess what,” I replied softly, a huge smile on my face as I looked at the two of them. “Wait, why do my surroundings appear to be whirling around, A?” I ask Aiden as I look about. I am clutching the grass I am sitting on because it, too, appears to be swaying.
I sobbed after touching it. I examined my hand, which was holding the grass I had pulled out. I did not realize my grasp on the grass had tightened until it was too late, so I ripped it out.
As I watched the pitiful grass, my tears continued to pour.
I said, staring at the grass I was holding, “I am sorry, I did not want to kill you.” I put it to my ear and took a few moments to listen. I am sure they are still alive. Perhaps they can be resurrected. When I could not hear them breathe, I cried even harder.
I am sorry, I did not mean to do that. I should have been more cautious when handling these babies. I stared at Aiden with a teary expression on my face.
“What would I do, A? Poor them, Aiden, I killed them. The grass has fallen,” I replied, tears streaming down my cheeks.
While he is observing me, his mouth is hanging open.
When I realized Aiden was not saying anything, I sobbed even more. Is he enraged because his cannabis plant died? Is he going to force me to re-establish the grass? But I have no idea how to perform surgery! My course does not prepare me to be a doctor.
“Ah, what would I do? What will happen to their children now that they are dead?” I asked Aiden. “Do not be mad at me. I will just give you carabao grass to make up for the grass I killed. Do not worry, we have a lot of grass at our house. Do not cry, okay?”
I overhear Lyka say, “What the hell?” I shifted my focus to her.
“Wow, my surroundings seem to be moving Lyka,” I replied to her, as if I were complaining. Her and Aiden”s faces are both flushed with surprise. They appeared to have no idea what was going on.
“Hey, why aren”t you two talking? Pfft, you two are idiots!” I exclaimed, laughing. My tears are still streaming down my cheeks, but I am smiling now.
“Aiden, I think she is going insane,” Lyka whispered, her gaze fixed on me. I gave her a big smile.
“I believe so,” Aiden says to Lyka, “but what should we do about her?” I scowled when I saw they were conversing, but their eyes was fixed on me.
“Wait, you are talking without opening your mouth!” I said with a funny laugh. They appear and sound so amusing. Oh my goodness!
I imitate their actions and burst out laughing. I was grabbing my stomach and giggling hysterically at them.
