I yelled at Aiden, “Hey, A! Can you stop singing?! Have pity on us who hear your voice!” I struck him with the fries I am eating as a joke.
He remarked with a broad grin on his lips, “Hey, Anna, you should be even thrilled to hear my voice.” What he said made me giggle.
He boldly stated, “A lot of girls want to hear me sing, but I do not give in; you are blessed to hear me perform for free.”
I pretended to be about to puke because of what he said. Seriously, the more I got to know Aiden, the more I understood he was crazy as well.
With a sly wince, I murmured to him, “Duh, I am so sick of your voice.”
He felt it because he knew he had a lovely voice. When we are hanging out together, he always sings. My voice appears to have nothing to do with the beauty of his voice, which is partially true, but I am sick of A”s voice. Lyka and he are both talkative, so I try to avoid them both at all costs. When they are around, I feel like my ears will not stop ringing.
“You are mean, Anna. Perhaps you simply want to sing so you are degrading my voice. Tss, you are embarrassed to tell me. Here it is, oh, I am letting you sing,” he teased.
He even handed his guitar over to me. We are eating and singing at the same time. We sit by Aiden”s pool and prepare our meal.
Two tables are used. The first is where the cooked dishes are stored, while the second is where the samgyupsal is prepared.
I really enjoy the atmosphere at A”s place. Their garden contains bonsai trees, which give me the impression of being in a forest.
“Tss, you know I do not sing,” I told him, laughing. Aiden”s grin widened as he heard what I had to say.
He was joking around when he said, “Yeah, I am well aware of that fact.”
I gave him a sidelong glance. He knows I cannot sing; no, that is not correct; I can sing, but I am not in the right tone when I do, and it ismuch worse. It is similar to Lyka”s situation; she knows how to cook, but her food is not particularly tasty.
He asks, strumming his guitar, “Ah, I recall, what did I hear earlier about Alyssa blocking you again?”
My brow furrowed in response to his question. What is Alyssa”s name?
“Alyssa who?” I inquire, my interest piqued. Do not tell me he is talking about his girlfriend.
“I thought Wend was your present girlfriend? Is it Wendy or Mendy?” I inquired, perplexed.
I put down my fork since I was curious about his girlfriend”s name.
“Ew, Alyssa is not my girlfriend. And you are late for the news, darling. Mendy and Wendy are not my girlfriends any longer,” he added, as if nothing he said was significant.
My eyes widened in surprise as I glanced at him. Is he the real deal? Is it true that Wendy and Mendy exist?
Oh my gosh, I thought I would said her name incorrectly, but it turns out he had two girlfriends at the same time. Really, this guy is giving me a headache.
He inquired, an irritating grin pasted on his annoying face, “Do you need water?” I locked my gaze on him.
As if surrendering, he lifted his hand. This guy is going to get a real hit from me. Guys, put a stop to it. Aiden offered me a glass of water, and I swallowed.
He was even taken aback when I told him I had run out of water. I am thirsty, yeah, and his insights made my blood boil to the point of boiling.
“You jerk, you are playing with women”s hearts as if they do not have emotions!” I screamed at him, then gave him a death gaze.
Aiden laughed as he observed my enraged expression. He shifted his seat to be closer to me and massaged my hair. I was irritated by him, I remove his hand from my head.
I have never been able to comb my hair before, and this manwhore has the audacity to mess it up.
With a smirk on his face, Aiden remarked, “Chill, sweetie. Even if I had a dozen girlfriends, you are still my favorite of all. Do not worry, you have my heart all to yourself.”
What he just stated makes me cringe. I took a step back and shoved him away from me. He burst out laughing at my reaction. With what he was saying, I almost puked.
I hiss at him, “Stop saying me those filthy pick up lines Aiden, you understand? I might not be able to control myself and throw this glass at you.” He smiled despite the fact that he was still gripping his stomach.
“Why is it my responsibility that ladies approach me? I am not the one who started our relationships; Rice is approaching the chicken; can I still refuse?” he irritatedly said. What he said made me frown. Rice his a**hole.
He looked up and said to me, “So what is up? Alyssa quarrel you, Lyka told me earlier.” I sulked.
“Who is Alyssa? I do not know anyone named Alyssa, eh,” I explained.
I caught a glimpse of him stifling a giggle at me. I gave him a childish look. He simply shook his head before approaching me to wipe the corner of my mouth.
“Thank you,” I expressed my gratitude.
On the side of my lip is a smear of sauce. Aiden laughs at me because of this.
I honestly believe I am his happy pill. He always smiles when he sees my folly.
After three french fries, I asked, “Do you mind if you tell me who you are referring to as Alyssa?”
As he watched me eat, Aiden smiled. He must believe he is watching a cooking show. I poke him in the brow to wake him up.
“Tss. Alyssa is our University cheerleaders” leader,” he explained.
I was curious as to who he was referring to. Because Lyka is the only person I always have with me, I do not pay much attention to the individuals at the University.
The ‘ding” sound in my head is almost audible when I realized who Aiden was talking about. After seconds of squeezing my head simply to remember that woman, I finally remembered her.
Alyssa is the captain of our University”s cheerleaders. She is popular at school, particularly among guys, because, in addition to being attractive, which I doubt, she has had numerous boyfriends. Almost all of my university”s basketball players have become her boyfriends, I believe.
She is our campus”s self-proclaimed queenbee.
Her minions students are all mean, as are she and her so-called friends, and I believe the only thing she knows in life is to be attractive. I am sure the only thing in their bags is make-up.
She is also notorious for being a bully, particularly towards loners, or nerds as they are known. She is, after all, a member of Aiden”s fan club. Aiden is really popular at our university, which is awful to say. He has a fan group of his own.
It is not new to me either, because I believe that all of the gorgeous men at the University, whether professors or students, have formed fan clubs made up of my obnoxious classmates.
When I went to the restroom earlier, Alyssa and her henchwomen blocked my way.
His previously happy smile had been replaced with a wrinkled forehead as he inquired, “What did they do again?” His vigilance is paying off once more.
“She did not do anything to me; all she did was tell me to keep away from you,” I shrugged.
“Wait, there is more,” I said, “she inquired whether we were dating.”
I ate the chips that I noticed on the table. When I finally had a taste, I nodded my head.
“This one is good; these are mine now,” I added as I took a bag of the same chips I was eating at the time.
Aiden was completely oblivious to this.
“So, how did you respond to Alyssa?” asks A.
He gave me his undivided attention. While watching me, he even put down the instrument he was holding. It was almost as if I were on the set of a reality show.
“Hmmm, I claimed we have a relationship. Well, she was quite angry when she heard what I said, and she nearly blew his nose because she was so angry with me,” I said innocently as I continued to eat.
When Aiden heard what I said, he busted out laughing. Oh no, I was completely correct. I am, in fact, his happy pill. He always makes fun of me.
“And then?” he inquires.
“She insulted me afterwards, telling me that we were not good for each other and telling me to keep away from you as well,” I replied as I shovelled a bunch of chips into my mouth.
“She did not even give me a chance to talk, and how can I keep away from you if you are the one approaching me?” I explained.
When I suddenly choke on what I”m eating, I almost toss it in his face. Aiden brought me a glass of water. I took a deep breath and rapidly swallowed it.
Hey, I am so full, but I am feeling my stomach and it feels like there is still place for food in there.
“You are a crazy woman,” Aiden said. “I am sure she thinks I am your boyfriend because of what you said to her.” We both burst out laughing at what he said.
“It is her fault; she did not wait for me to explain; on the other hand, I have no intention of explaining anything to her; it isup to her to overthink,” I explained.
I guffawed as I imagined Alyssa”s reaction. She is quite outspoken because she admires A, despite the fact that A has neglected her on several occasions.
“I even answered her correctly, didn”t I?” I reasoned. “We do have a relationship, it is just not the way she imagined it.” As I stated it, I even shrugged my shoulder.
Aiden laughed and added, “That is my girl! Give me a fist bump!” We giggle after bumping fists with each other.
Aiden inquires, “What is taking Lyka so long to return?” Aiden”s residence was accessed by Lyka, who claimed she was going to take something inside. She has yet to return.
“Perhaps she isalready gone home, what do you think?” I thought to A, who simply shrugged.
Aiden moved closer to my seat. I was expecting him to mess up my hair once more, but all he did was turn my lap into a pillow. I simply shook my head in disbelief at what he does.
I nearly yelled at him, “Hey! Get off of there! Your head is too heavy!”
I was not comfortable with his lying on my legs, to be honest. When his hair brushes against my skin, it tickles me.
With a pout, he obeyed what I instructed. He simply took the pillow next to me and lay on it. I chuckled because he feigned to smile at me.
For a few moments, we were deafeningly quiet. We both raised our eyes to the sky. My neck hurt from staring at the sky, so I approached him and lay down on his stomach. Aiden was unconcerned and simply stared up at the sky.
As the sun began to set, the colors yellow and orange began to dominate the sky. Birds are also flying back to their resting spots.
As he asked me, his tone was solemn.
I said softly, “I do not have a choice, A.” Aiden and I both sadly smiled as we did not take our look away from the sky.
“Marriage is not a joke, Anna; once you are married, you cannot go back,” he remarked. He did not even bother to glance at me. He returned his gaze to the sky.
I respond in hushed tones, “I know, A.”
He asked seriously, “Are you ready to be bound to Alessandre? Anna, he is in love with someone else.”
I felt agony in my chest as a result of what he said, but I did not show it to him. He would only be concerned if he found out I was upset because Alessandre had another girlfriend.
“I am aware of it, A, and I accept it; our marriage is strictly business; there are no feelings in our relationship,” I responded, meeting his solemn glances. I give him a comforting grin. He grabbed my hair and messed it up a little.
“As long as you can always come to me for help if you need it, and if Alessandre hurts you, tell me about it and I will take care of him,” he said.
I had a good laugh at him. He is pondering the situation excessively. Alessandre, I do not believe, will ever achieve that level. I am confident he will not harm me physically.
“Hey, do not just laugh at me. Promise me, Anna. Promise me that you will not let him hurt you and that if he does, you will divorce him. Promise me that, darling. Only then will I feel safe marrying you to Alessandre,” he said seriously.
Because of what he said, I refrained from crying. Aiden is the only sibling I have never had. He reminds me of a guardian angel sent by my parents to look after me.
He genuinely cares about me, which made me cry. To avoid tears from developing in my eyes, I blink.
“I promise, A,” I said him earnestly. His face lit up with a smile as a result of what I said.
I consider myself really fortunate to have him as a friend. He is one of the few people I know who will not abandon me in my hour of need. I know he always has my back, and I am grateful for that.
We both fell silent again after that. We were perfectly satisfied to gaze at the sky.
I grinned. I adore this, the location, the vibe, and the present moment. This is arguably my favorite part of Aiden”s life. I feel like we are just having a heart-to-heart conversation. I am also relieved. Because of the chat Aiden and I had, I feel relaxed.
When we heard the camera click, we thought we would lost our minds.
I looked around for the source of the noise and noticed Lyka with her camera, taking pictures of us. As she stared at Aiden and me, she winced.
“Hey, guys, what are you up to? Do you feel like you are filming a romantic comedy?” she asked, her face strange.
Aiden and I were both amused by Lyka”s reply. Aiden and I took our seats in front of her.
“Take a picture of us, Lyks,” I said with a smile to Lyka.
I grabbed Aiden”s shoulder and flashed a smile at the camera.
“All right! 1, 2, 3, grin!” Lyka says as she clicks the camera.
I, like Aiden, give it a big smile. We took photos of each other. I believe we photographed every aspect of Aiden”s garden. We went back to our place earlier to eat when we got tired of feeling like photographers.
“Guys! Everyone! I brought them!” Lyka exclaimed, a bottle of wine in her hand.
She smiled as she waved what she was carrying in front of us. When I saw what she was holding, my eyes widened. Oh, my goodness! I am not sure what I would do with this woman. With the shenanigans she thinks, I am afraid my blood will dry up.
“Where did you acquire that?” I asked her, my face flushed with surprise.
The insane woman only smirked when I asked her a question.
“Are you really serious about what you said earlier about drinking?” Aiden asked, his head bobbing as if he had a headache as he stared at Lyka, who was clutching the unopened bottle of wine.
“I also believed you were joking and not serious when you stated you were going to drink,” I responded, still surprised. She never ceases to astound me with her acts.
“Hey, folks, calm down. Aiden, do not pretend like you have never had any alcohol in your life. You are not an obedient child, dude. I can see what is inside you,” Lyka remarked, her grin deceiving.
Aiden exhaled a sigh of resignation. He also seemed to have lost interest in Lyka”s antics.
“Besides, this is just a wine party, guys,” Lyka chuckled. “You will be surprised if I bring tequila.”
God, please bless this child. She is back to being insane and a crackhead.
“All right, enough of you interrogating me! Let us open this and start our drinking session!” she exclaimed gleefully. Because of Lyka”s noise, I noticed one of Aiden”s maids looking in our direction. Aiden”s parents, thankfully, are gracious enough to allow us to make noise in their yard.
“Wait, how do you open this?” Lyka inquired as she examined the bottle of wine in her hands.
As he opened the bottle of wine, Aiden replied, “Tss, give it to me. You seem to have vanished from your dens, ah. You will be doomed later when you come home.”
I was blown away by what he accomplished. Aiden has clearly been drinking for a long time, according to Lyka. He is just adept at masking his inebriation so his parents don”t catch him.
For the three of us, Lyka enthusiastically translated the wine. She handed us the wine glasses, and just as Aiden was about to take a sip, Lyka intervened. Lyka gave him a stern look, forcing him to lower the glass.
“We should also take a photograph because this is really my and Anna”s first time drinking any alcoholic beverages!” Lyka added, pulling out her phone and snapping some photos.
Aiden and her drank their wine once she finished. Only if Lyka had not just glared at me with a menacing look would I have been hesitant to drink the wine in my glass.
I closed my eyes and swallowed the wine. I am not aware that Lyka is filming me as well.
