The sly cub is a mystical creature, I’d read about how they were used by evil sorcerers in the past to deceive their enemies and take advantage of their trust to defeat them. They’d been extinct for over a century and I myself have never encountered one, that is until this very moment.
“So, if they’d gone extinct, how was Rakur able to get his hands on an egg?”
“I don’t know, but this time around, we’ve seen that Rakur means business in getting what he wants. He must have expended the services of a very powerful sorcerer.”
The entire court went back into panic upon hearing his words.
“This is bad.”
“The stone is gone. It means we’re doomed!”
Miranda knew all that Simba said was true, because she too, had heard of the sly cub in the past, now she regrets why she never paid plenty much attention to the words of the book.
The sly cub dwells on the charge of its master. It feeds on trust, and the more trust you give it, the stronger it becomes over you. Once you let your guard down, the sly cub becomes your master.
“It all makes sense now, why Camila was able to control Miranda and Damian last night, how she was able to retrieve the stone without any opposition.”
Now everyone turned angry glares towards Miranda, everyone thinks she’s the one who brought this upon the silver wolves, but there’s not much time to be angry at her, for the current problem had just given birth to a bigger one.
A few guards barged into the silver court then, they appeared to have ran a long distance, as they waited a few seconds to catch their breath before delivering the terrible news.
“The rogues have penetrated the border, sire. We’re under attack.”

There is trouble in the land, as war had just broken out on the silver pack unexpectedly. Not only is their strongest army who is meant to protect them is now far away, but the only thing that could have offered them protection has now been stolen.
It will take days before the silver army is able to march here, and they do not have that time now as the war is staring at them right in the face.
Rakur had this strategically planned. He’d predetermined all of Damian’s movements correctly, and he got him where he least expected it. The wolves at the court went to gather at the balcony to see from afar, the waves of thousands of rogue wolves running towards their direction. They were led by their leader, King Rakur.
“It’s time for payback, silver alpha. Today, you and all of your people will finally get what you deserve. I will kill you and take over your territory. Finally… today, after so many years, the death of my child will be avenged.”

“Killian!!!” Samara angrily stormed into the guard’s quarters in search of her assistant.
“Killian!!! Where is he?” She asked one of the men on duty.
“There he is. He’s coming right this way ma’am,” he pointed.
She moved past the guard and went to Killian, almost about to begin another round of yelling, before remembering that these were private matters that not just anyone around here should hear.
“Meet with me in my chambers, right now!!!”
A few minutes later, Killian entered her room, and then Samara shut the door behind him.
“The princess… she knows of our plans, Killian,” she stated worriedly.
“Princess Sandy? But how come….? I and the men swear on our lives that we didn’t reveal anything to anyone ma’am. In fact I made sure that no one outside our inner circle is aware of our plans.”
“I know… I know it couldn’t have been anyone on our team, which is why it baffles me so… she followed me to meet Rakur and heard everything we discussed. I was only lucky that I found out someone was spying on us… I had to run back to the pack house like my life depended on it then.”
“I heard that alpha Walden summoned you so early. My heart was in my throat because I thought we’d definitely get caught, but thankfully, you returned on time.”
“That foolish girl was more than ready to expose me today. I’m thankful that I still have Walden’s trust even though he’s a bit upset at me. He didn’t believe a word his sister said.”
“Do you want me to take care of her, ma’am? I can make her disappear within the twinkle of an eye.”
“No… that would just be adding fuel to the fire. Walden can let anything go, but certainly not the death of his sister. She might be a spoilt brat but he still loves her very much. He’ll make sure to get to the bottom of it if we ever tried to kill her.”
“This is really a big problem, ma’am. I honestly don’t know what else to do.”
“We can start by finding out the person who ratted us out.”
Killian remembered something important then, “apart from our team. There is someone else who knew our motives.”
“Who is it?”
“That Sandy’s boyfriend that we used to cover up our tracks… remember we kidnapped his mother at the time. She saw a whole lot of things she wasn’t supposed to. I knew we should have killed her instead.”
“Of course…! It was definitely her, Killian. I don’t know why my mind didn’t think of that earlier. And it only makes sense that mother-in-law would spill the beans to her so easily. You’re a fool, Killian. You should have killed her!”
“But killing her was not the part of the agreement with her son, ma’am.”
Sarcastically, she responded, “Oh, I’m sorry… I’m sure her son would have risen from the grave if you’d laid a hand on his mother after that!”
Killian bent his head, “sorry ma’am.”
“There’s no need for any of that. I am in a good mood today, because I know it’s the day that Miranda and her husband will get killed. I also feel like getting my hands soaked red, and I want it to be that bitch of a mother who dared to expose us.”
“So, we’ll be paying her a visit then, ma’am?”
Samara smirked, “Of course, we will.”
