Sandy never believed this; her own brother whom she’d grown to love and respect, who had been her strength and protection ever since their father died; her own brother was now turning against her, and this was all Samara’s doing. Samara who happens to be the enemy, not her. How blind her brother must be, and how she hated Samara now, more than ever.
Walden’s hand still shook from the slap, he’d never done something like that before, nor did he didn’t mean for things to go that way, but then Sandy had better learn to start controlling her tongue whenever she was around him.
“Samara… I’m sorry you had to see that, please don’t mind Sandy. You may return to your room now.”
Samara nodded her head, “I understand… I forgive Sandy for her accusation. I understand how it feels to lose someone you truly love and care about. That was the case for her and Conor, and it was also the case for me and my father…”
She then took slow steps towards Sandy, placing both her hands on her shoulders. Sandy couldn’t have expressed her irritation other than passing her a threatening glare, but that didn’t seem to scare off Samara. Of course, it wouldn’t.
“I’m sorry Sandy. I promise you that it I’ve been in your exact same shoes before, it was hard for me then. It was the worst feeling, it will be hard, but with time, you’ll get through it all. You are strong, Sandy, believe in yourself and you’ll get through it.”
After saying what she had to say to Walden’s sister, Samara passed her a sarcastic grin that she made sure she didn’t miss, before turning her back to leave the room.
“I’ll be leaving now. We have a lot of matters to attend to in court today, I hope that by the end of today, we will all be successful in our endeavors.”
Now that Walden was once again left alone with Sandy, he felt it was now her turn to leave, and he didn’t waste time in telling her.
“Get out of my room, Sandy.”
“If you do not believe anything from my mouth at all today brother, believe this; Miranda needs your help.”
“You didn’t see anything else to use to get to me, now it’s my feelings for Miranda. How low could you stoop, Sandy?”
“If you do not believe anything from my mouth at all today, believe that the rogues are ready to bring the silver wolves to their knees. They have taken their army far away from them. They’ve stolen their strength, and they are going to attack them today.”
“Sandy… get out…”
“IF you do not believe anything from my mouth at all today, believe that they need our help. Our army is closer to them than their own, and we can still save their terrain. You can still save Miranda…”
Before Sandy could finish speaking, Walden had already called in the guards again to drag her out of his room.
She didn’t argue with them as they took her hand, only said one last statement to her brother, one she was sure that would touch him.
“If you love Miranda as you say, you’ll do well to protect her because after today, you may never see her again.”

Miranda had been frequently contacting the ruling affairs back at the Lotus pack. The proposed time for the battle had passed, and yet the rogue king had not attacked the Lotus pack.
With all that had gone on, Miranda is now certain that her pack was not the main first target of the rogues, but rather, the silver pack, where the majority of the defenseless wolves now resided.
Damian was mad at her for lying to him about Camila. For the first time he summoned her to court, she’d seen the anger raging in his eyes, and she didn’t know what to do to calm him down.
“Now, you are aware that Camila was only sent here as a decoy to weaken our forces! And now, not only is our protection far away from us, but we no longer have the royalty stone!” He yelled.
Miranda stood there, crying, unable to utter a word. She’d never seen this part of him before… at least, not in a long time. She feared what would happen next.
Renard was the next one to speak, in a bid to ease the situation.
“Excuse me sire, but I think that there might still be a solution. The men have scouted the entire area and we haven’t found any clues nor footprints to indicate that someone left the border earlier than the time the stone was stolen.”
“So how does that make things better? For all we know, we are not sure what kind of creature that Camila is. She might have flown or even disappeared into thin air with the very item we were sworn to protect.”
They suddenly heard the voice of the healer speak up in the Lotus court, “I think I might know a bit about this cub, sire.”
“Rise and come forward, Simba.”
After the healer had taken his stand in the middle of the court, Damian addressed him further, “go on. Tell us what you know.”
“Through my years as a healer, I’ve had a significant amount of experience in studying mystical creatures, some of whom were notable for causing uncurable and fatal diseases, although Camila is not one of such, it doesn’t change the fact that she is even more dangerous.”
The healer now had everyone’s full attention, as thinking maybe finding out about Camila might lead to something useful in uncovering the mystery that had taken place last night.
“Camila was never a wolf to begin with; that much was certain. I tested some samples of skin she’d shed in her bedroom, and I found out that she’d hatched from an egg.”
“An egg?”
“Yes, sire, an egg. Camila is a sly cub.”
