Chapter 466: The Face of a Despicable Man

Book:A King Reborn in Shadows Published:2024-6-8

“What’s going on?”
Seeing this scene, the mocking voices stopped abruptly. Many people gathered around, wanting to see what was happening.
“Why is that beast kneeling?”
Everyone looked at the white horse in disbelief. Someone stomped hard, trying to make it restless again.
However, the white horse remained motionless, its front legs kneeling on the ground like a beast worshiping a dragon, not daring to lift its head!
Layla’s face instantly turned solemn, with intense astonishment between her brows.
The white horse, which had never yielded to beatings, scoldings, electric shocks, or even bullets flying past its eyes, knelt straight down after Flynn’s shout?
It didn’t dare to move, its muscles trembling as if it were terrified of Flynn, with fear in its eyes!
Too bizarre!
Too incredible!
Scarlet was also extremely surprised.
Layla had trained the white horse for a week without success. Even if Flynn had the ability to tame it, it would take some effort.
Unexpectedly, Flynn just gave a light shout, and the beast obediently knelt on the ground.
Molly was also dumbfounded.
She couldn’t understand how the white horse, which was as fierce as a tiger just now, suddenly lay down on the ground.
No one could have imagined that if they had stood opposite Flynn just now, they would have knelt down without hesitation too.
No one could withstand the pressure of the King of the Underworld.
Not even Layla or the Heavenly King of the Northern Territory!
At this moment, the killing intent in Flynn’s eyes disappeared. He turned to Scarlet and smiled, “Didn’t you want to learn how to ride? Come! Let’s compete with Ms. Woods!”
“Okay!” Scarlet ran to Flynn’s side with admiration in her eyes.
What could make Layla feel inferior and bring more joy than this?
Amidst everyone’s incredulous expressions,
Molly’s disbelief as if seeing a ghost,
Layla’s furrowed brows in confusion,
Kimber’s frantic anger,
and the shock of the onlookers,
Scarlet and Flynn mounted the horse.
“Are you ready?” Flynn sat behind, holding the reins with one hand and wrapping his arm around Scarlet’s waist with the other.
Scarlet blushed slightly and nodded.
It was her first time being so close to Flynn in public.
She felt a bit lost.
After all, everyone’s eyes were on them.
Seeing Scarlet agree, Flynn smiled slightly and then sternly said to Kimber, “Aren’t you coming to lead the horse?”
“I…” Kimber was so angry she almost spat blood. She turned to look at Layla.
This was her second time suffering a loss at Flynn’s hands.
The first time was peeling shrimp; this time it was leading a horse.
Twice playing the role of a servant.
She was extremely unwilling.
“If you lose, you must keep your promise. It’s not like you can’t afford to lose.” Layla said coldly as she mounted her black horse and headed for the track.
Kimber’s tears were about to fall. She could only reluctantly go up and lead the horse.
In her world, she could serve anyone but Flynn.
Even a beggar was better than Flynn.
Tears of grievance fell down her cheeks.
“Is he a beast tamer? With just one shout, that beast knelt.”
“He must be. He must have tamed lions and tigers before. Such people carry an aura of ferocity. If he can tame tigers, taming a white horse is nothing.”
“That makes sense. But he must be an expert, even better than circus tamers.”
Naturally, everyone didn’t believe Flynn was the Heavenly King of the Nation.
It’s rare enough to see Grandmasters in their twenties; let alone someone above Great Grandmaster level like the Heavenly King of the Nation.
In Ostrad’s century-long history, there were no more than twenty people who became Grandmasters before thirty.
Great Grandmasters could be counted on one hand.
Heavenly King of the Nation?
Unthinkable.
Take Layla for example; she is among Ostrad’s top talents but is just barely at Grandmaster level.
How could Flynn be Heavenly King of the Nation?
Since he wasn’t Heavenly King of the Nation, he could only be a top-tier beast tamer.
“Miss, you must teach him a lesson for me!”
Kimber led the white horse to the racetrack and glared fiercely at Flynn before coming over to Layla’s side in grievance.
Layla ignored her and turned to Flynn. “I didn’t expect you to have this skill. I underestimated you. But you’re celebrating too early.”
She looked at Flynn coldly, waiting for his response.
The black horse beneath her seemed infected by her arrogance, raising its head high without even glancing at the white horse.
However, Flynn ignored her and continued teasing Scarlet as if no one else existed.
“Mr. Clark, you’re amazing! How did you tame that white horse with just one shout?” Scarlet asked excitedly.
Flynn wrapped his arm around Scarlet’s waist and held the reins with his other hand, grinning mischievously:
“Want to know? Come over tonight and I’ll tell you.”
“You’re so naughty!” Scarlet blushed deeply and pinched Flynn’s thigh hard after hearing this.
Flynn retaliated by patting Scarlet’s behind playfully, making her yelp softly in surprise.
“You scoundrel…” Scarlet gritted her teeth wanting to scold him but noticed Layla staring coldly at them. She nudged Flynn gently and whispered:
“Hey, stop messing around; Miss Woods is getting angry!”
Only then did Flynn reluctantly turn his attention away from Scarlet and nonchalantly say to Layla: “Sorry Ms. Woods; what did you say? Want me to slow down so I don’t embarrass you?”
“Heh-” Layla sneered coldly without replying further.
“Giving Ms. Woods face? What an arrogant face! Does he think taming that beast means he can win against Ms. Woods? Dream on!”
“Do you know what kind of horse Ms. Woods is riding? An Ahaltyrja Gold Horse! Also known as Akhal-Teke! Its speed and endurance are top-notch; it’s not just talk!”
“Horse racing tests riding skills, coordination with your mount’s speed endurance strength breed; that white horse has never been trained before; winning against Ms. Woods would be nearly impossible!”
“Exactly! Ms. Woods’ equestrian skills are professional level; she has participated in national competitions and even placed third! She’s way better than that guy!”
The crowd discussed animatedly among themselves while watching Flynn sit carelessly on horseback with an improper posture indicating he was clearly an amateur which made them look down upon him even more disdainfully comparing him racing against Layla akin ordinary person competing against Liu Xiang hurdles absolutely impossible win situation where Layla completely outclassed him every aspect!
“Hey! The race is about start aren’t planning letting your girlfriend get off?” Kimber questioned sarcastically towards Flynn who responded confusedly tilting head asking “Who said she’s getting off?”
“Riding same horse competing against my lady?” Kimber stunned momentarily then mocked “Are doing intentionally so can use excuse when lose?”
“If can’t afford lose shouldn’t compete!” Layla icily remarked seeing how things unfolded signaling referee indicating didn’t want waste time unknown nobody anymore!
“Race begins!” Referee waved flag signaling start Layla shot forward like arrow!
