“Now I see why you’re so arrogant, turns out you’re a Semi-Grandmaster. Impressive compared to us, but still far from Layla’s level.”
“There’s a vast gap between a Grandmaster and a Semi-Grandmaster. Many reach the Semi-Grandmaster level in middle age and never advance to Grandmaster. That shows the significant difference.”
Everyone sneered at Flynn, enjoying the spectacle.
They thought Flynn might be skilled in Martial Arts, but he wasn’t on par with Layla.
“Good! Very good! Amazing!” Flynn laughed heartily and said to Layla, “If you’re so amazing, why can’t you tame a horse? Useless!”
The crowd erupted.
Useless?
He called Miss Woods useless?
Arrogant!
“That white horse is extremely wild and irritable. Not even Miss Woods or a Great Grandmaster could tame it!”
“Miss Woods not being thrown off is already impressive. Even the world’s top horse trainers can’t do it. What makes you think you can?”
“You talk as if you can tame the white horse. Ridiculous!”
Everyone looked at Flynn with disdain.
Who was Layla?
In their eyes, she was like a celestial being, yet Flynn belittled her. How could they not be angry?
If Layla was useless, what did that make those who flattered her?
Molly saw the furious crowd and thought of one word: followers!
Yes, Layla had become a divine figure in their eyes, not allowing any slander.
Wasn’t this what followers were?
A woman who could make heroes bow down with her charm-how many such women existed in Ostrad?
Perhaps only General Nate’s daughter from the Dragon Cavalry could compare!
Flynn shook his head and smirked, “You know what? I can actually tame that wild horse!”
He had long been annoyed with Layla but didn’t want to confront her. However, she kept provoking him.
Especially her little sidekick Kimber, who was like an annoying fly, buzzing every time they met.
Flynn decided it was time to put these two women in their place.
Moreover, he had promised Scarlet a ride; he couldn’t disappoint her.
He wasn’t one to break promises!
“What did you say?”
“Trying to regain face from me will only make you lose it completely!” Layla’s eyes shot sharp glances like the midday sun, making it hard for anyone to look directly at her.
Flynn stared into her eyes and scoffed, “Not only can I tame that wild horse, but I’ll also use it to beat you!”
The crowd gasped again.
“Arrogant! This guy is too arrogant! Even a Grandmaster can’t tame the white horse; he has no chance as a Semi-Grandmaster!”
“And he wants to race Miss Woods with that horse? If he can stay on it for ten seconds, I’ll admit defeat!”
“Miss Woods should let him try and teach him a lesson. Otherwise, he’ll keep acting like a clown.”
People laughed and shook their heads, thinking Flynn would embarrass himself if he tried.
But they were eager to see it happen.
Why was the horse called the white horse?
Because its temperament and strength were like a lion’s. Beating, scolding, starvation, even electric shocks hadn’t subdued it.
Even when Dream Club employees threatened it with guns, it remained fearless.
Kimber found it amusing and mocked, “Flynn, I actually admire your persistence.”
“Because my lady broke off the engagement with you, you’ve joined Rose’s side to spite her at every opportunity.”
“You’ve had some minor victories thanks to Cruz but ended up looking like a lackey.”
“Recently, you claimed credit for Miss George’s improvement of the Ancient Formula Returning Heart Pill. You’re shameless.”
“Today I want to see what tricks you have left!”
Everyone was stunned by Kimber’s words.
They didn’t know Flynn and Layla had such history.
Their disdain for Flynn grew; they saw him as petty and talentless but eager to show off before Layla.
Molly was also surprised.
Flynn and Layla had been engaged? And Layla dumped him?
But it made sense upon reflection.
They were like a princess and a guard from different worlds; how could they be together?
If she were in Layla’s shoes facing someone like Flynn, she’d kick him out without hesitation too.
“Alright! But if I tame that horse, will you hold its reins for me?” Flynn asked Kimber with a fake smile.
Kimber laughed coldly. “Why should I hold its reins for you? Ridiculous!”
“You won’t?” Flynn’s face turned cold as he shouted angrily. “Then why are you yapping?”
“Just spewing nonsense without caring if others find it offensive? Trash!”
Kimber was startled by Flynn’s outburst and got even angrier at his words.
“Fine! I agree. But if you fail, you’ll leave immediately wherever Miss Woods is present!”
“I agree!” Flynn nodded and turned to Layla. “What do you say?”
“The white horse is stubborn and fearless; only someone with Heavenly King of the Nation’s aura can control it,” Layla said coldly with narrowed eyes. “But since you’re so confident, I’ll give you a chance.”
Flynn said nothing more and walked straight toward the white horse.
“Heh, here comes the show. That beast is incredibly strong; it killed its third owner by crushing his chest. Let’s see what he does next.”
“Miss Woods already said only someone like Heavenly King of the Nation can control that beast. Can he last ten seconds?”
“A show-off like him competing with Miss Woods? He’s desperate to save face.”
Amidst the mocking laughter, Molly frowned and looked at the white horse not far away.
The horse stood 1. 5 meters tall at the back with long mane like reeds and muscular build full of hostility. It seemed like an evil dragon transformed into a horse with fierce eyes brimming with defiance.
Flynn wanted to save face before Layla by taming that wild horse; he’d only end up more humiliated.
Under everyone’s amused gaze, Flynn approached the white horse.
The beast jumped around restlessly upon seeing an unfamiliar person approach. Its eyes filled with hostility as it eyed Flynn as if seeking an opportunity for a fatal strike.
Layla watched everything unfold with narrowed eyes and a cold smile on her lips.
She disdained arguing with Flynn but felt his recent rise needed curbing.
“I couldn’t handle it as a new Grandmaster; no way this brute can!” Layla thought disdainfully.
As everyone expected Flynn to make a fool of himself, they heard him shout at the white horse:
“Kneel!”
Boom!
Flynn’s aura exploded; his eyes under sword-like brows showed scenes of terrifying battles.
War horses neighed amidst mountains of corpses and seas of blood as tens of thousands of armored soldiers fought fiercely with their weapons clashing against each other skywardly.
The irritable white horse suddenly stopped moving as if frozen; its muscles trembled uncontrollably before bending its front legs and kneeling before Flynn!
