Jacob gave her a deep and complicated look.
He didn’t say anything, but turn around and go upstairs.
Katherine guessed he was to take a shower upstairs. She immediately put the car key he left on the table into her pocket and left hurriedly.
She didn’t make any noise, secretly avoided the crowds in the yard and went for the garage.
The greenhouse was the only way which must be past. When Katherine drove the car past the greenhouse, she immediately waved at Felix and Merry who were in the greenhouse and made a gesture of keeping silent.
The kids followed her instruction and ran towards her.
Katherine held them onto the car. Merry blinked her eyes, asking, “Mum, are we going for Uncle Hunter?”
Katherine nodded her head with a smile, “Yes, we’re going for Uncle Hunter. So sit here silently and don’t shout. Understand?”
The kids nodded their head obediently.
Katherine gave a glimpse to the villa beside and then went onto the car immediately. She rolled up the window and drove toward the gate of the yard.
The light was dim. It was very difficult to see the people inside from outside.
Katherine was taking a chance. She was so nervous that her heart was beating like a drum.
The car slowly drove to the gate of the yard. The security guards were a little confused, thinking that Jacob had just arrived and why he left again. However, without considering too much, the security guards thought he might have something temporary to deal with and opened the gate.
When the car arrived at the corner, Jacob happened to come outside of the villa. Seeing the familiar car, his eyes soon turned into ice. He ran to the greenhouse, but found no kids there. His face became worse.
What a Katherine Sue!
Jacob immediately went into the room, took the car key and drove to chase her.
When Katherine drove out of the gate of the villa, she immediately got off the car, went onto the car she rent and drove outside.
As she was to give a sigh of relief, she saw a car chasing her at an extreme speed from the rear mirrors.
She guessed it was Jacob’s car, so her heart hung up again.
At this time, her phone rang.
It was a call from Jacob.
She didn’t pick up the phone and the phone kept ringing.
The continuous ringing made Katherine restless. The car behind her kept chasing her. So finally she answered the phone angrily, “What do you want on earth?”
“Stop the car!” Jacob commanded her coldly.
“Impossible! I won’t stay with you! I swear to leave you with the kids today.”
However, Jacob suddenly sped up, overtook and stopped across her car.
Katherine hurriedly put on the brakes in a state of shock.
If she stopped several second late, her car would have crashed into his!
Jacob went off the car. Katherine took a deep breath to recover from the shock. Without outlet for her anger, Katherine asked angrily, “Jacob, Are you insane?”
Did he know how dangerous it was?
Jacob stood in front of her car, looking at her coldly, “Get off.”
“Never!” Katherine refused him firmly, “I’ll never stay with you.”
After saying so, Katherine restarted the engine and retreated.
As she planned to drive on another route to avoid Jacob’s car, Jacob walked a large step to block in front of her car again. His dark black eyes deeply stared at her and he said determinedly as well, “If you want to leave, crush me.”
Katherine angrily stared at him, “I ask you again, leave or not?”
Jacob said nothing and kept still.
Katherine didn’t believe he would take life joke, so she grit her teeth, hung up the phone and went on to drive.
The car came closer and closer and it only took a moment to crush him, but he still didn’t move.
Katherine was shocked. As the car nearly crushed him, she hurriedly put on the brakes. However, due to the inertance, the car still moved forward. Bang! The car seemed to crash into something.
Katherine shivered and her whole body was stiff.
After a while, she took off the safety belt with shaking fingers. When she got off the car, her knees even got a little weak. She hurriedly ran to the front of the car. Seeing Jacob lying on the ground with contracted pupils, she got panic, “Are you ok? Jacob!”
Jacob lay on the ground absolutely still. His forehead seemed to knock on the ground and the bright red blood flew through his face onto the ground.
Katherine’s mind went blank. Her heart seemed to be seized tightly by a hand, making her breathless.
“Ambulance, call ambulance…” she murmured, turning around to take the phone from her car and clumsily dialing 911.
After hanging up the phone, Katherine looked at Jacob whose eyes were closed and face was pale. Her tears suddenly dropped down. She said in a choked voice, “Jacob, wake up…”
How could he keep standing in front of her car and wait to be crashed by her car?
If she knew it earlier… if she knew it earlier, she would have listened to him and follow him back. Then he would have been fine.
If he died…
Katherine’s mind went blank. She stared at him with fixed eyes. Then she raised her hand with her shivering fingers to his nostrils…
Before her fingers reached his nostrils, Jacob’s eyelids moved as if he felt her approach. He raised his hands and held hers.
Katherine froze. Happiness appeared in her eyes. She immediately looked at him. Jacob opened his eyes. She asked, “Jacob, how are you?”
Jacob felt painful and he frowned. After a while, he gave her a weak smile, “I’m fine. If you were more hardhearted, I’d have been dead.”
