The three of them arrived at the zoo.
There were many things they couldn’t play with. No matter how much Felix wanted to, he could only watch.
So Katherine chose to follow her daughter’s advice and bring them to see the animals.
After walking around for a long time, Katherine finally let them play. For example, participating in children’s dance and going on the merry-go-round.
Felix did not speak along the way. He pursed his lips, obviously not interested at all. But seeing how excited his mom and sister were, he didn’t refuse.
Katherine took the children to play in the ball bit while she sat outside and finally had a chance to rest.
Taking care of two children by herself was very tiring, especially one boy and one girl. They liked different things, and she needed to consider both of their interests. Katherine was so tired that she was close to collapsing.
She had Theo with her before, so she didn’t feel very tired.
“Mom, I want to drink Coke.” Merry suddenly leaned on the edge and was a little upset. “So thirsty.”
“Then come down. I will take you there to buy it.”
“No, I just want to be here.”
Katherine had no choice but to find a staff member and entrusted her to watch over her children while she went to buy Coke.
No place sold drinks nearby, and Katherine had to run to KFC, which she remembered as not being very far.
However, a little accident happened along the way.
A child fell. Katherine went to help him up but could not find his other parent.
“Where are your parents?”
“They are gone.” The boy pressed his lips together aggrievedly. Big teardrops then rolled out of his eyes.
They were both boys, yet Felix rarely cried. Now that she saw a boy cry loudly, Katherine suddenly panicked.
“I’ll take you to find your parents, okay?”
The boy nodded obediently.
The zoo was very big, so Katherine couldn’t just walk around the zoo with him and search slowly. It wouldn’t be very efficient and it would take too much time.
After all, she wasn’t here by herself. She still needed to go back to find Felix and Merry.
Katherine thought for a while and decided to bring him to the zoo’s management office.
It was just that the office was a little far away, and it would take some time for her to go back and forth. But there was no alternative.
Children had a short attention span.
Not long after Katherine left, Felix and Merry didn’t want to play anymore. They came out of the ball pit and were stopped by the staff.
The two had to sit outside. They looked around with eager eyes and expected Katherine to appear.
Jacob went abroad this time for two purposes – one because of work and the other because he was entrusted by his mother to visit a cousin.
He saw his cousin, but what gave him a headache was that his cousin made him babysit her kid while she was busy with something else.
There was no way Jacob knew how to take care of children. He tended to scare children and made them cry with just one look.
However, this child was naughty. He not only wasn’t afraid of Jacob, but also asked Jacob to take him to the amusement park.
Jacob couldn’t stand him, so he had no choice but to take him to the ball pit.
He only needed to leave the child inside while he sat outside. This made Jacob feel quite relaxed.
After he paid to let the naughty kid go in the ball pit, he found a place to sit and heard a child’s voice.
“Brother, I’m thirsty.” The girl’s soft voice moved Jacob slightly as if a feather lightly stroked the tip of his heart.
“Yeah.” Another equally tender voice sounded a little mature. “You won’t be thirsty after mom’s back.”
“I also feel hot.” The girl dragged on the last syllable as she played cute.
“There are towels here. I will sponge you.”
How could they be so cute?
Jacob followed the voices and saw a baby and a baby girl. They looked just over a year old, one dressed in blue and one dressed in pink, and were about the same height.
“They were likely twins.” Jacob thought.
The baby boy had his back to him, so Jacob could not see his face, but he was more interested in the baby girl who faced him.
The baby girl had watery eyes and looked very cute. Her small mouth pouted aggrievedly. Just one glance, Jacob almost lost his heart.
He never liked children, but when he saw this baby girl, he liked her inexplicably that he couldn’t help but soften his gaze.
But when he thought of something, Jacob felt slightly pained again.
If he wasn’t out of his mind and forced Katherine to get an abortion, he would also have a cute child like her by now.
In the past two years, no matter how much Laura urged him, Jacob did not look for another woman, let alone have children.
He just couldn’t do it.
For more than two years, he never stopped looking for Katherine.
If she was still alive, wouldn’t that mean their child was also alive?
Jacob had a glimmer of hope in his heart, even though he didn’t hear a word about Katherine for more than two years.
“Brother, a weird dude is looking at me from over there.” Merry glanced at Jacob several times, and suddenly whispered to Felix.
She thought she was quiet, but she was actually a little loud, at least enough for Jacob to hear.
Hearing what she said, Jacob frowned.
A weird dude?
