Jacob’s sudden appearance made Katherine restless all day.
When she left work in the afternoon, she subconsciously looked around for fear that Jacob would suddenly appear.
In the past two years, she only focused on her children and rarely thought about how he and Lucia were. After all, they had nothing to do with her anymore.
Katherine believed that the luckiest thing in her life was that she escaped from Jacob. She wouldn’t repeat the same mistake.
Theo saw how restless Katherine was and became worried. “What’s wrong? Did something happen?”
Katherine looked at him, hesitated for a while, and decided to tell Theo what happened today. “I saw Jacob today.”
Theo was stunned and suddenly acted as if he was anticipating an enemy attack. “Did he find you?”
Katherine thought about those two encounters today and shook her head. “Probably not.”
He might have discovered something, but he wasn’t sure the person he saw was her.
After all, with Jacob’s personality, if he found her, he would’ve pulled her out himself.
“What really happened?” Theo looked serious.
Katherine recounted everything that happened today in detail.
Theo thought over it for a while and concluded that it was unlikely for Jacob to discover Katherine. It was probably a coincidence.
“I’ll have someone look into it and find out Jacob’s whereabouts. Don’t worry too much. It’s a big city. Even if he is here, you might not meet each other.”
Katherine forced a smile and was still a little worried.
Just as Theo said, the world is big, and they were already abroad, so how could they meet Jacob again? She thought she would never see him again for the rest of her life.
Theo didn’t talk any more. What he didn’t say was that he was also a little worried.
He wasn’t worried that Jacob would take away the children, but that Katherine would waver.
The Katherine from the past loved Jacob with all she had. Even though Jacob liked Lucia, and Lucia tortured her, she still loved Jacob deeply. She was even determined to give birth to Jacob’s children.
Although two years had passed, Theo was not sure whether Katherine still loved Jacob.
Would she be moved after learning about how regretful Jacob was in the past two years and return to his side?
Theo held the steering wheel even tighter.
Regardless of how selfish and unconfident he might seem, he was determined to never let them meet again!
After the weekdays were over, it was the weekend.
Because she saw Jacob, Katherine decided not to take her children out and planned to spend time at home.
Merry was unhappy.
“I want to go to the amusement park.” The little girl pressed her lips together and looked at Katherine eagerly. She even stomped her feet as she spoke and was extremely cute.
Katherine was a bit moved, but thinking of Jacob, she shook her head. “Not this week. I will take you there next week, okay?”
The little girl was about to refuse when Katherine heard Felix, who didn’t like to talk, say, “You said the same thing before.”
Felix’s tone was calm, but Katherine heard signs of accusation, which made her feel a little guilty.
Recently, she spent most of her time doing work and didn’t have time to take her children out on weekends. She always acted in a perfunctory manner, now…
“Mommy, I want to go, take me there.” Merry shook Katherine’s leg and kept acting cute.
Katherine was completely moved. It was just the amusement park. Even if she went there with her children, they wouldn’t run into Jacob. After all, why would he go there?
This chance was very small. Children were more important.
Katherine agreed, and Merry jumped happily. Although Felix didn’t say anything or act differently, she could still feel his joy.
Katherine stopped worrying.
Before the three of them went out, Merry put on her hat and asked Katherine, “Where is Theo?”
“Theo is busy today and can’t play with you.”
Merry pouted, obviously unhappy. “I want Theo!”
Seeing her daughter being attached to Theo, Katherine didn’t know whether to be happy or worried. “Then do you want Theo to come over and play with you or do you want to go to the amusement park?” The little girl frowned and was conflicted, and finally made a difficult decision. “Amusement park.”
Katherine laughed. “It seems Theo is not as important as the amusement park.” Katherine concluded to herself.
He sneered, “Good-for-nothing.”
Merry stared at him and was a little angry. “Meanie.”
Felix ignored her. Although he looked young, he was clever, which made Katherine think of Jacob again.
After all, Felix was his biological son. Felix looked a lot like Jacob, had a similar temper, and was not very talkative as well. Sometimes his gaze made Katherine feel as if Jacob was looking at her.
This made Katherine more determined that she must prevent Jacob from seeing the children. Otherwise, no matter how she denied it, she wouldn’t be able to fool Jacob.
Even Merry and Jacob were somewhat similar.
