Chapter 46 Blushing

Book:The Surging Of Love Published:2024-5-1

Rachel’s hand was trembling after she struck him out of impulse. She held onto her fist and said coldly, “In your eyes my tears are worthless and my private life is dirty. Look for someone else if you simply want to recharge your energy. Don’t try to comfort me right after you’ve hurt me, I won’t fall for that.”
Ewan emphasized his words firmly, “Do your duty as a wife and recharge my energy.”
Rachel bit her lips and clenched her fists.
Her actions were very casual but they were very seductive to Ewan. At this moment he felt like an addict and had the urge to kiss her again.
There was a standoff before Rachel said calmly, “I’m not your power charger.”
Ewan immediately grabbed the back of her head and pulled her head onto his chest to listen to his heartbeats. His weary and tired heart was beating very fast. He needed some energy and she was his source of energy.
“Let go, release me…”
Rachel started to struggle and push but the man’s strength was too strong and she was unable to budge.
She finally gave up her struggles and remained in his embrace. Her face was on his chest listening to his accelerated heartbeat.
This was the first time she realized that his heartbeat was so fast.
And that she could recharge him by kissing him.
Ewan’s words echoed in her ears.
‘You can divorce over your or my dead body.”
She doesn’t want to force something that can’t be changed. She was also very tired.
No matter was it hell or paradise, whether he was real or fake, she felt like being willful for once.
She struggled with her internal conflicts and remained quietly in his embrace.
After her struggles, she decided to be willful after all.
Her hand moved up slowly towards Ewan’s waist and tenderly hugged him.
As soon as her hands held onto Ewan’s waist, Ewan’s body stiffened up.
Ewan lowered his head to look at Rachel, he saw that Rachel was affectionately in his embrace with her head stuck to his chest.
Rachel’s sudden change surprised him.
His heartbeat raced to a peak. He thought that after he forcibly hugged Rachel, she would use all her strength to struggle free. Even if she couldn’t break free, she wouldn’t be hugging him like that.
“Are you tired?” Ewan calmly asked. He thought that she was exhausted and that was a natural bodily response.
Rachel slowly closed her eyes and two crystal clear teardrops rolled down her face. She buried her face in Ewan’s chest and tightened her grip and hugged him even tighter. She was so mentally exhausted that she couldn’t bear it much longer. She said weakly, “Yes, I’m exhausted. I’m really really tired and don’t want to persist anymore.”
“What don’t you want to persist?”
“Divorce.” Rachel said calmly.
His broken heart finally felt hopeful. Her words mended his shattered heart.
Ewan held her shoulders tightly into his embrace, looked up at the ceiling board, and sighed. His pain and bitterness melted away to some degree. He slowly closed his eyes to savor the moment and calm his mood.
He wanted so much to thank her for not insisting on a divorce.
But he didn’t say anything. He only wanted to hug her quietly forever and never let go.

Time flew by quickly like a moving motor.
The two of them innocently hugged in the room for the entire morning.
Rachel shyly left his embrace and went to wash her face in the bathroom.
Ewan’s back was against the wall with a hand in his pocket. The other hand’s slim fingers were caressing his lips which still had Rachel’s sweetness lingering.
If problems can be resolved by kissing her, then he should have started to kiss her ten years ago, even if she was a minor.
After waiting for a while, Rachel opened the bathroom door slowly and came out with her head lowered.
Ewan looked at her with his head tilted.
Her fair cheeks and even her ears were red.
Why was she blushing so long after a kiss?
The reaction of her cheeks was sweet like candies to Ewan’s heart.
His previous pain dissipated. His shoulder was against the wall as he slowly turned towards Rachel and asked, “Are you feeling unwell?”
His voice startled the nervous Rachel.
She shyly and awkwardly raised her head and looked away as soon as their eyes met. She nervously tucked her hair behind her ear as her voice trembled, “No… I’m fine.”
“Let’s go down for lunch.”
“Okay.” Rachel nodded but didn’t move.
Ewan looked at her and then walked past her towards the door.
Only then did Rachel follow behind him.
They walked down the stairs one after the other.
Manson was in the living hall playing games on his cellphone. As soon as he heard footsteps, he placed down his phone immediately and stood up, “Rachel, I didn’t see you the whole morning and was wondering where you were.”
“Manson.” Rachel smiled calmly.
Manson frowned, looked at Ewan, and then back at Rachel. His expression darkened and calmly asked, “Why did both of you come down together?”
Ewan walked past him and said emotionlessly, “I don’t have to explain to you.”
“…”
Manson felt that the words were thick with hidden meanings.
He looked at Rachel again, tossed his cellphone, and walked over. He pressed his hand on her forehead, which startled Rachel.
“Manson, what’s wrong?”
Manson frowned and asked curiously, “Rachel, are you feeling unwell? Your face is so red and your forehead is warm.”
“I… I’m fine.” Rachel dodged his hand and walked to the dining room.
Ewan was already seated. The meal didn’t include Luke and Erica’s portions as they were at work.
Rachel sat opposite Ewan as Kate and the other servants began to serve the dishes and rice.
Ewan leaned back into the backrest and sat straight as a pencil as he looked calmly at her.
Rachel felt that the gaze of the person opposite was scorching hot. She was so nervous that she didn’t know how to place her arms and legs and even where to look.
Just as she was feeling extremely awkward, Manson walked over with an electronic thermometer and placed it on her forehead.
Rachel was stunned, she raised her eyebrow, and looked at the thing on her forehead, “What’s that?”
Ewan’s gaze darkened as he glared at Manson’s actions.
Manson looked at the electronic thermometer and anxiously placed it on the table. He grabbed and stroked Rachel’s hand and said anxiously, “Your body temperature is 37. 3 degrees. It’s a low fever. Your palms are sweating and your cheeks are so red. You must be sick. I’ll take you to see a doctor.”
Rachel immediately retracted her hand and she instinctively looked towards Ewan and nervously swallowed her saliva and explained to Manson, “Manson, I’m not sick. It’s because it’s too warm.”
