Book:The Surging Of Love Published:2024-5-1

Ewan saw Bently was stunned and didn’t move. His tone became a little harsh, “Don’t be stunned, go now.”
“Yes.” Bently said.
Finally, Bently’s head turned around, guessing that it was food for Mrs. Hill.
In a short time, Bently sent a sweet eight-treasure porridge and pumpkin pie.
Late at night.
After Ewan took a bath, he found a blanket and spread it on the floor.
Both the quilt and the blanket were given to Rachel. He used his arm as a pillow, lay on the blanket and looked at the ceiling.
He muted the phone next to him, and he didn’t check the incoming calls, let alone answered them.
He saw an inconspicuous headline on the Internet today.
“The most shameless bitch in history, who stole her bestie’s husband was beaten up by the her bestie’s friends.”
Rachel’s photo was also posted on the Internet, but no netizens knew her and the article did not tell anyone’s name and only reported the incident. Netizens would treat it as gossip and ignore it after a short glance.
But people who knew Rachel, including her family and friends, would be extremely surprised and angry.
This was also the reason why he didn’t want Rachel to charge her phone.
The desserts on the table were already cold. It was at one o’clock in the morning.
Ewan saw that Rachel hadn’t woken up yet, so he got up and turned off the light, then lay down to the blanket on the floor again.
They stayed in the same room again after more than ten years apart, some kind of faintly sweet affection made Ewan unable to sleep.
He had trouble sleeping all night long.
During her sleep, Rachel woke up by the sound of her grumbled stomach.
Feeling sultry and hot, she slowly kicked off the quilt.
She rubbed her eyes and gradually opened her sleepy eyes.
There was still moonlight with thick fog outside the window. Dawn was breaking, but the sun had not yet risen.
She glanced around, and then she slowly awake, why was she sleeping in Ewan’s room?
The bed was his, and the quilt was his, but where was he?
Rachel sat up and looked around carefully again, but yet she did not see Ewan. She thought he might be in the living room.
She got out of bed.
Suddenly, she saw a man asleep on the floor.
Except for a blanket underneath, he had nothing covered on his body, and he only wore thin clothes.
Rachel was startled, and her heart sank instantly. She quickly walked to him with the quit in her hand, sat on her knees next to him, and covered him with the quilt.
She moved anxiously, even her breathing was chaotic. She couldn’t help but murmured, “It’s too cold to sleep on the floor without a quilt, you might get ill for it.”
Ewan slightly frowned, but instead of waking up, he pretended to be asleep.
Rachel’s breathing became disordered and she was even more upset.
She touched Ewan’s hand on his waist which was very warm and not as cold as she had imagined.
She was still worried and touched his forehead.
The temperature of his forehead was normal and he seemed not to have a fever as she had expected. She was finally at ease.
As she withdrew her hand, the man suddenly grasped her wrist.
Rachel was shocked. Her wrist was held tightly by him and her hand was forced to press on his forehead and could not move a bit.
She swallowed hard and at a loss while looking at his expressionless face.
Ewan closed his eyes tightly, and muttered, “What are you doing?”
Rachel answered softly, “Ewan, the ground is extremely cold. You should sleep on the bed, I’m afraid you will catch a cold.”
“No need.” He seemed to be talking in his sleep.
Rachel tried to pull her hand back, but the man’s force was too strong to escape. She couldn’t move at all, her hand kept touching his forehead.
“Ewan, you…” Rachel wanted him to let go of her.
Before she finished speaking, Ewan interrupted, “What’s the time?”
Rachel instantly raised her head, looked at the clock on the wall, and said lightly, “Five fifty…”
“It’s too early, sleep awhile more.” Ewan said.
As soon as he finished speaking, he suddenly dragged her. Rachel was unguarded and dragged on to Ewan’s chest, over panicked, she asked angrily, “Ewan, are you crazy? Let me go…”
Ewan ignored her words. He pulled the quilt with another hand and quickly covered her.
He took her into his arms with only a slight movement, and his hand that held her wrist had never loosened.
Rachel was breathing hard. Her heart raced uncontrollably and half of her body was forced against his strong and broad chest.
The man’s temperature was extremely high, which made her feel hot and uneasy. Every breath of Rachel filled with his masculine smell which was clean and pleasant.
She was so tense that she was as stiff as a rock. Every cell in her body was boiling. Her mind was blank and even her voice was trembling. “E… Ewan… Let, let go of me, I…”
It happened so suddenly and what he did was too intimate, left Rachel at a loss.
At this moment, Ewan’s heart was beating fast. His breathing became deep. His voice was extremely hoarse and magnetic. He whispered, “Don’t talk.”
“This… this is not appropriate, you…” Rachel froze and did not dare to move. She felt that the man’s strong chest was very comfortable.
Ewan didn’t say a word. He held her wrist and slowly increased his force. Rachel was gently pulled, hugging him more closely. Her body was stuck closely to his side.
This kind of invisible warning made Rachel quiet down, afraid to utter a word or even move.
Ewan gathered a deep breath, then exhaled slowly.
Although he was pretending to be asleep the whole time, he couldn’t fall asleep at all. Rachel’s soft and slender body was a fatal temptation for him.
The nice scent of her body was also challenging his control like magic.
Their bodies’ temperature was rising in the blanket. Both of them felt hot but no one moved.
They kept their posture and hugging each other for a while, Rachel still did not felt sleepy.
She knew that Ewan was strong and young. He constantly stayed in a men-only military area. Now they even became a legal couple. What if he wanted to do something, how would she face her family or Sienna?
She couldn’t even imagine what would happen after, why was her life so miserable.
After a long silence, Rachel slowly started to speak. She tried to divert his attention, “Ewan, is Eve’s case still being investigated?”
“Of course.” Ewan murmured.
“Who are you shielding? Why is my mother released while the murderer is still at large?”
Ewan paused and became silent. He then muttered, “Things are not as simple as you think, don’t worry about this case.”
“Then can you tell me whether the murderer is from the Hill family or he or she is an outsider?”
