The morning sun poured on the billboard outside the window.
When Twinkle opened her eyes, she saw.
She stretched under the covers, smiled and spoke to the man in the photo. “Uncle, good morning!”
After getting up to wash and going downstairs, she came to find Mr. Simpson and his wife as well as Dawn already finished with their breakfast, waiting for her by the sofa. The steps below her feet are golden brown, giving off a wealthy feel. As she went downstairs, she started to miss the white revolving stairs in Purple palace. Like a dream in a fairy tale, after around turning around and around, the stairs ultimately led to happiness.
Her weak little pink fist suddenly clenched.
She wanted to seize that happiness.
“Twinkle!” Mrs. Simpson didn’t know about the conversation between her husband and daughter last night. Seeing Twinkle head down, she got up with a smile, and spoke to the direction of the kitchen. “Bring the young mistress’ breakfast! Hurry up!”
Mr. Simpson seemed to be chatting with Dawn. After noticing Twinkle downstairs, they both stopped.
Dawn stood up, looked at her and smiled. “Twinkle, Fish’s plane will be arriving tomorrow morning. Let’s go pick her up together tomorrow morning.”
“Okay.” She nodded.
When Mrs. Simpson pulled on the sofa and was about to take a seat, Mr. Simpson hurriedly continued talking. “Uncle Meng and the others will be here tomorrow night. I have arranged for the servants to clean up the room. If you are fine today, check out the room with Dawn. If there’s anything missing in the guest room, then buy it when you go shopping.”
“Isn’t it enough to leave this to uncle?” The uncle she talked about was the Simpson’s housekeeper. Speaking of him, he could be regarded as a member of the Simpson family’s because he is Mrs. Simpson’s cousin. He has been with Mr. Simpson and his wife for many years in City Q. He is a rigorous, loyal, and caring person.
Mr. Simpson smiled and replied. “How childish! Uncle Meng is your future father-in-law. Wouldn’t it be more sincere if you personally helped arrange some daily supplies for him?”
“That’s right!” Mrs. Simpson also smiled. “In fact, there is nothing missing at home. You’ll just be going out with Dawn, having a meal together, and watching a movie sort of thing. Isn’t that what young people these days do when they go out for dates? When Fish arrives tomorrow, you guys will be together and if you two want any time alone, I’m afraid there’ll be no chance!”
The maid brought breakfast over and placed it on the coffee table in front of Twinkle, dish by dish.
A small bowl of wolfberry and bird’s nest soup, and a yam and jujube mud cake.
Holding the bowl of bird’s nest soup, she suddenly remembered the fermented rice dumplings she ate at the Nelson’s house. Although she was drunk, Mrs. Nelson’s cooking was really good. “I want to eat fermented dumplings tomorrow. Well, the rice wine should low alcohol or I will be drunk.”
“Why do you want to eat this all of a sudden?” Mrs. Simpson laughed. What a child, changing her mind all the mind.
“At Mrs. Moon’s natal house the day before yesterday, Mrs. Nelson made it for lunch and it was delicious,” said Twinkle.
Having said that, she glanced at Mr. Simpson subconsciously. “Uncle loves it too. He drank three bowls in a row, and also ate half of my remaining bowl. Mrs. Nelson knew that the uncle was going, so she brewed the rice wine many days in advance then personally made the dumplings for uncle. We went together and like Donald and Trump, we were able to try it because of uncle.”
Everyone was taken aback!
Mrs. Simpson just realized, staring at the pair of golden pearls on her daughter’s earlobes. “This pair of yours, is it real?” She asked.
She saw it last night, but her daughter has never liked luxury and has no vanity. Even if Patrick gave her something, she would not be so ostentatious, so she subconsciously thought it was a fake, a decoration!
Mr. Simpson’s eyes deepened. “Who gave it to you?”
A man giving a woman a gift would not think so much as to give a pair of priceless gold pearl earrings. Obviously, it was the type of from an elder female to a younger female, like the pair of earrings on Twinkle and the usual jade bracelets.
Therefore, Mr. Simpson and his wife firmly believe that it was not a gift from Patrick.
Twinkle raised her hand and touched one of the pearls, then let go, and said with some audacity. “Ms. Moon gave it to me.”
Mr. Simpson, “…”
With seriousness, Twinkle told them about everything that had happened that day when Mrs. Nelson took out the golden pearl. “So, Grandpa Nelson ordered me to keep it first. Even if I want to give it back, I would have to wait until I meet with Mrs. Moon and return it to her personally.”
That being said, Patrick has support from the royal family?
Mrs. Moon is so honorable, yet her mother personally cooked for Patrick and Mrs. Moon entrusted her mother to give a gift to Twinkle!
Mr. Simpson’s expression worsened a bit.
Seeing Mr. Simpson about to back away, Dawn immediately said, “Mrs. Moon is an elegant and kind woman. Even if she has some kind of relationship with Patrick, she wouldn’t condone Patrick forcing women, right?”
What Dawn said sentence completely dispelled Mr. Simpson’s doubts, and even Jiang Xin breathed a sigh of relief. “Dawn is right. You hurry up and eat quickly. When you are done, go out for shopping.”
Twinkle stuck out her tongue, a little discouraged.
She wasn’t vain at all. She took off the pair of golden pearl earrings and placed it in the jewelry box last night before taking a shower. She just thought that perhaps Mr. Simpson would feel pressured if she mentioned Mrs. Moon and wouldn’t act rashly as to urge her to get engaged to Dawn!
Originally, Mr. Simpson showed signs of letting her off, but everything was ruined by Dawn’s words!
Finishing the bowl of bird’s nest soup in a few bites, she curled her lips and stood up to head upstairs.
She felt her wrist tighten and looked down to find Dawn holding her wrist. “What I said just now was not intentional. Don’t get mad at me.”
“How dare she!” Mr. Simpson immediately comforted Dawn. “Dawn, don’t think too much about it. Twinkle is simple, like you!”
“I just want her to be happy.” Dawn continued.
Mrs. Simpson also smiled. “I know. You are the only man in the world, besides my husband, who treats Twinkle the best.”
Dawn smiled shyly, but still looked at Mrs. Simpson very seriously. “Aunt Simpson, I truly am serious about Twinkle. She is such a good girl and she is worth me being good to her for my entire life.”
“Hahahaha, Twinkle, listen, what a nice boy. Hurry up and go upstairs to grab your things. It’s time to go out with Dawn!”
Twinkle took a deep breath.
Not knowing why, the people she lived in the same big house with for 18 years suddenly felt very unfamiliar. Something seemed to be missing and something seemed to be extra in the air. In short, things were different.
It seemed that there was no way of going back. She didn’t want to stay anymore.
She thought of the blueness in Purple palace, thought of the lights and the scenes, and even began to miss Treasure.
After returning to her room, Twinkle stood in front of the window facing Patrick’s face. She smiled slightly and picked up her phone to send him a text message. “Uncle, I miss you.”
