In her worse times, James was there to protect her, he never left her side, from the beginning until now.
She didn’t want to say that there were not a single romantic moment between them, but that was not love, in her heart, she only saw James as a friend.
Jenny knew that if she decided to be with James, he will love her, protect her, he will treat her like his most precious treasure.
But what James did today gave her a whole new impression of him.
As if he only showed her his best side, but he also had this other side.
This kind of men were scary. She didn’t want to imagine what he did behind her back.

Harold was still thinking about what to buy, when he arrived at the gate of the hospital, and saw a shadow that looked so familiar.

Harold’s eyes suddenly went dark and were filled with hate.
It was different than in the forenoon, then he had a plan at hand, so Harold could deal with him.

He walked towards him with long steps, James was looking at him with his dark eyes.
BAMM. A first that carried a lot of anger and energy landed on James’ face.
He didn’t even wait for James to react, and gave him another hit.
James laughed icy, “Oh, not looking for pity anymore? You know that you’re a man now?”
Harold heard that sentence which was filled with mocking, he emitted an aura that showed his strength, his face cold.
“Since when do I need your opinion, you just go back to your country, and get your business going.”
Anyone could hear that this was not supposed to be nice.
“Except for that, is there anything else that you can blackmail me with?”James hated it when he was being blackmailed.
He was him, his father was his father, the Quarrington family was powerful, but that didn’t mean anything.
“I don’t need to tell you.” The Quarrington and Yard family have been having trouble for a long time already.
The things James has done were not enough reason for him to swallow the Quarrington’s yet.
He gave in all these years just because of his father.

“Anything I want to have, I will get it. Not you.” Harold said, his lips formed a smile.
James knew what he was trying to tell him with it. It got him really angry, he has not been this furious for a long time.
When they were still in China, all he wanted to do was to help Jenny to get away from him, and when they have finally succeeded, Harold came to America!
His plans were messed by him, it was hard to keep his calm.
When he thought of that, he said cold, “You and Jenny are not possible anymore, she will never be with you!”
Harold sneered, and said without caring, “That’s my problem.”
“Don’t forget what you have done to her, she is so disappointed in you, even if you really have saved her, it won’t make it up.”
Harold listened him his words, lifted his wrist to take a look at the time, he should get back soon.
He raised his head and said, “You are not in the place to tell me this.” Then he turned around and left with long steps.
James watched him walk away, his fist clenched.
Harold was right, he was in no position to tell him this, when Jenny needed him most, James was not here for help.

When he got the food for Jenny and was finally back, it was already two in the afternoon, he thought James would come in to harass Jenny, but when he entered the room, there was no James around.
In the ward, the care nurse was cleaning the floor, when she saw Harold come in, she left them to be alone.
On the hospital bed, Jenny was already fast asleep, her breathing deep, her chest rising with every breath.
Harold walked to the other side of her bed, and watched her peaceful face, his previously mad mood was calming down.
He didn’t want to disturb her, she barely even had a chance to relax.
She had a good shock a few days ago, then she had so many nightmares when she was unconscious, today, he just wanted her to have a good sleep.
His gaze was fixed on Jenny’s sleeping face, he promised himself that this woman can only be his, no matter what happened in the past, now, and in the future, no one should take her from him again.

She couldn’t help but smile.
Harold saw the smile on her face, and was touched by it, his heart was uptight. He has not seen Jenny smile for a long time now.
He couldn’t remember when they started being like strangers, but he knew, what he did in the past was enough for her to hate him. It was really hard for him to make it up to her now.
When Jenny woke up, the sky was already dark. She rubbed her eyes and looked outside, and scowled.
