Chapter 61 Why Are You Here?

Book:The Secret Surrogate Lover Published:2024-5-1

Jenny slowly sat up and subconsciously wanted to call James, but suddenly realized that he was not here.
Then she shook her head and thought, “Why did I want to call him out of habit?”
As Harold saw her awake, his eyes were fixed on her face.
Jenny was a little timid to be gazed at and still felt a little awkward while thinking about the things which happened in the daytime.
Harold saw what she meant and said nothing. Both of them fell silent for a while.
It was still early spring. The weather was neither cold nor hot, which made people feel pleasant.
Jenny took a look and wanted to go for a walk outside. But when she considered that there was another person in the room, she had to give up her thought.
Harold felt a little irritated as he saw that she was always so lukewarm to him.
He didn’t know the reason. Obviously he loved her, but every time he saw her attitude towards him, he would lose his temper.
Today was the most harmonious day for the two to get along for so long. He tried his best to control his anger while she tried not to say anything mean.
Therefore, Harold snorted to himself and sat aside with a cold face.
Jenny noticed his moodiness, so her face turned gloomy.
He used to be like this. He always had a cold face and refused to smile at her no matter how she begged him.
He was still the same man. Even if he got better for a moment, he would immediately become who he used to be.
As time passed, Harold’s brows knitted. Was this woman really not going to talk to him?
Looking at the time, it was almost half past seven. It should be time for dinner.
Thinking of this, he said coldly, “Let’s go to have dinner.”
Jenny glanced at him, “Didn’t you buy it back?”
She took a look behind him. The food container was still left untouched.
Harold thought she was a little silly. “I can eat what I bought at noon? I’ll take you out.”
After saying that, he walked to the corridor and closed the door without looking back, waiting for her to change her clothes.
The nurse told them that they could go out and got some fresh air occasionally, which was beneficial to the recovery, so he wasn’t afraid of letting her go out as before.

Jenny thought for a while. Although she really wanted to go for a walk, how could she enjoy herself with this man next to her?
Therefore, she put the open quilt back on her body, not wanting to go.
Harold waited at the door for a long time but didn’t see anyone coming out. He had already lost his patience.
He had never waited for anyone. Only others would wait for him.
He gave all his patience to Jenny, but she was still so slow and kept him waiting.
His eyes went cold. Regardless of whether she was still changing clothes, he pushed the door open and shouted, “Jenny Andrews!”
He could barely retain reason without pushing the door. However, he almost wanted to smash the door when he pushed the door open!
Jenny was still lying on the bed in the patient clothes. Seeing him coming in, she said softly, “I don’t want to eat.”
What did she mean that she didn’t want to eat?
Harold suddenly flew into a rage. There was anger in his eyes. He slowly clenched his fist and his knuckles whitened.
He strode over with his long legs and suddenly lifted her quilt. His voice was extremely cold, “Get up!”
Jenny was expressionless and didn’t make a move.

Harold suppressed his anger, walked around the room, and said again, “Can’t you hear me?”
Jenny frowned and looked at him. Why was this man always so moody? He would give her a blow every time she wanted to be soft-hearted.
Thinking of this, she coldly replied, “I’m not going.”
Harold snorted, his deep eyes squinting, “I will let you out in my way.”
Jenny looked up suddenly but didn’t speak.
How could this man be like this?
“Faster!”
“Okay, I’ll go!” Jenny was helpless, so she didn’t want to think about his attitude. Because he saved her life, she could just do him a favor.
Hearing what she said, Harold’s face got better. After Jenny changed her clothes, the two of them got in Harold’s car and went straight to the most famous restaurant nearby.
This was the most famous Chinese restaurant located in Southern California.
The restaurant was owned by a couple. One was from Hunan and the other was from HK. They had studied many cuisines.
After arriving at the restaurant, the two walked in. The owner greeted Harold with a smile. The two obviously knew each other.
Thinking of this, Jenny felt a bit strange.
Harold didn’t look like the person who would ever have a meal in such a place.
This restaurant covered a total area of less than 200 square meters. The tables inside were all wooden. The decoration was antique, which didn’t look like Harold’s style.
The two randomly found a table. Jenny took the menu and started to order while the boss was waiting quietly.
Jenny flipped through the menu casually, only to find that much of the food was what she liked. Looking at the photos of the dishes, she was really hungry.
“I want a Fish Filets in Hot Chili Oil, a Long Bean, and a Scrambled Egg with Green Pepper.”
Before the owner was going to take her order, Harold spoke first, “We won’t order these.”
Jenny was stunned. “Why?”
“You can’t eat spicy food,” Harold answered briefly and then looked down at the menu.
Jenny couldn’t help but want to scold. She thought to herself, “In that case, why did you let me order first? You should just order by yourself.”
Feeling depressed, Jenny simply put her arm on the table and tapped the table boringly.
Two minutes later, Harold finished ordering the food. He looked up and saw that she was unhappy. He frowned and asked, “What’s wrong?”

“It’s okay.” It was all about ordering the food.
Harold looked at her in confusion, “Are you sure you are fine?”
“I’m sure!” She said in a bad tone, exposing all her dissatisfaction.
Harold’s eyes went cold and asked her seriously, “Is it because I didn’t let you order those things?”
When asked about this, she didn’t retort because that was the reason.
Harold wanted to laugh but still remained clam, “Your wound hasn’t healed yet. You can’t eat spicy food.”
As Jenny heard what he said, she didn’t refute. She understood the truth, but it was still a little upset for her to actually do it.
The food was served quickly, but the dishes that seemed simple tasted surprisingly good. Almost every dish was right for Jenny.
She decided to set aside her anger for a moment and picked up the chopsticks to start eating.
Harold also picked up the chopsticks and ate something, but his eyes were always fixed on her.
Seeing Harold gazing at her, Jenny looked up, “Why don’t you eat?”
“I come here every day. I’m getting sick of it.” As Jenny was willing to talk to him, Harold’s face was no longer so cold.
“Oh,” Jenny replied and didn’t continue to speak.
Simon was walking out of the restaurant after dinner with his friend as he suddenly caught a glimpse of someone.
To be precise, there were two people—Jenny and Harold.
Speaking of Harold, Simon actually didn’t know him, but he often paid attention to business affairs, so he recognized him in just one glimpse.
Jenny was taken aback as she saw him. Then she stretched out her hand to greet him, “Simon.”
Simon walked over, “Jenny, why are you here?”
