Stopped by someone, Shirley’s eyes meet Lily’s provocative eyes when she raises her head.
“Shirley, I’d like a word with you.” Lily seems not to be kind with an arrogant tune.
“I’m sorry. I have no word to talk with you.” Shirley doesn’t want to tangle with her and is intended to bypass her to leave.
Lily stops her again, “You are really an excellent actor. As usual, you pretend you like a timid coward. Actually, you are more ambitious than anybody. Even Yates takes you at his word.”
“It’s not your business.” Shirley frowns. Even if she doesn’t look for trouble, it doesn’t mean she is the one to be bullied. Even a rabbit will bite when it is cornered!
“I am now framed up because of you. You said it was none of my business. You are a bit too naive!” Lily says so aggressively. It seems that she is really the right one who is chosen as Yates’ apprentice robbed by others.
Shirley looks at her. It deliberately misleads others. How shameless she is to do so.
“I have no time for this. Please get out of my way.” Shirley says coldly to keep the last bottom line.
Lily has no intention of letting her pass since she dares to block her way.
“Don’t think I know that, you and Yates are almost going to break up without contacting each other for many days.”
Lily smiles complacently with the attitude of a winner. She despises her existence.
“You followed me!” Shirley clenches her fist with great rage inwardly.
“So what? You with an ordinary family also dare to be with Yates? I think you’re still in your dream. Do you know who is Yates?”
Lily gets close to her and whispers to her, “Yates is actually the youngest son of the Mohchi Group. He drops out of school abroad and comes back to make money to study by himself because he has troubles with his family.”
“Although Central University is also a good one. However, as for Yates, it means just a refuge. He will go back to accept the arrangement of his family in the end, and becomes the chief executive of the Mohchi Group. You… Are you qualified to be with him?”
Shirley feels her heart torn apart and become into pieces, and finally she feels numb.
Lily is right that she is not qualified to be with Yates.
“Are you done?” Shirley glances at her coldly and then straightly bypasses her. She won’t let Lily know that she’s afraid of being found anxious.
Lily stamps up and down here in a rage, “Damn it, I will not let you and Yates be together anymore. Nobody will get him if I can’t!”
Shirley pretends herself a poker face with calmness and goes to the canteen.
However, nobody can know except her that her hands which drop on both sides tighten up very hard suddenly.
She takes the plate to find a table in the corner to sit down. Soon Yates puts his plate and sits down opposite her.
Shirley pretends that she knows nothing, lowering her head to eat. Shoveling food into her mouth, she even doesn’t know how it tastes.
“Why don’t you see me?” Yates asks. Shirley stuns and keeps shoveling food to mouth not knowing how to response.
As Yates sits down, where they sit down becomes a spotlight. Everybody looks at them, which makes Shirley so uncomfortable. She stands up and plans to leave in consequence.
Yates grabs her hand and says, “Tell me, what the hell are you afraid of?”
“Let go.” She suppresses her tremble and fear. At this moment, she can only be brave.
Yates’ eyes are firm, “Please tell me.”
