The celebration Karen says is arranged carefully by Yates actually.
The ambience of this patisserie is extremely sweet. Dressed in a floral apron, Yates imitates the pastry chef to make his own cake.
Shirley standing in front of the glass window with Karen, watches him carefully make the cake.
“He asked Mack to come to me, telling me to find you out anyway. He must apologize to you.” Karen’s eyes are occupied by envy. Though Mack is nice, he’s never been attentive like Yates. She always considers that Shirley is a lucky dog or Yates cannot date with her.
Shirley is touched obviously, but dares not go in. And she wants to turn around and leave.
Karen stops her, “What are you doing?”
Shirley replies, “Sorry, I got something to do.”
Karen holds her arm tightly, “What fucking matter? Your expression tells me that you are escaping from reality. You are just shirking. You a loser!”
“Right, I’m a loser. Please let go.” Shirley breaks free and runs fast.
The more attentive Yates turns to her, the more afraid Shirley feels.
She’s afraid of losing him in the near future. It’s better to lose him now rather than soon.
Yates looks over here, nevertheless, what all he can see is the figure runs away. Then he puts down all stuffs right away and runs after.
Karen shrugs her shoulder, “Sorry, I’ve tried my best. But she still wants to go, I can’t help it.”
Yates nods and utters nothing, and goes back to the shop to make the cake.
At night, Shirley is reading books in dorm. But in fact, she cannot even read one word in the book because she is preoccupied.
Other roommates go back to school successively, and then back to the dorm. One girl can’t help but getting close to Shirley and asking, “Shirley, are you really the right one that is chosen as his apprentice by Yates?”
Shirley glances at her, nodding, “Yep. What’s the matter?”
“Nothing. How dare me? You’re his girlfriend now and apprentice as well. Nobody can say no to you.”
The roommate is awkward and then goes out after putting her bag down.
Shirley doesn’t think too much. Anyway, those strange looks never disappear since their relationship has been public.
During a few days, she feels some people starting to avoid her and looking at her in a low-key way, not like before.
Shirley walks in the corridor of classroom doorway, and those people are afraid of meeting her and stay very far from her. As long as their eyes meet with Shirley’s, they will look down at the ground with fear.
What’s wrong with these people?
Why do these people treat her like ghost?
Shirley goes downstairs, seeing several girls whisper quietly together in the corner.
She unconsciously withdraws her legs a little and stands still at the corner, listening carefully.
“How shameless Shirley really is. Lily is the right apprentice of Yates obviously. She renders Yates change his apprentice just because of the rights of girlfriend.”
“You’re right. Yates is a man of his words. Due to Shirley, he is not like before. The women like Shirley should go to hell!”
“Perhaps she should go to hell. Dating with Yates needs skills which only she has. Can you try to hook up with Yates?”
“Come on, don’t say those sarcastic words here. Yates is our national husband. Are you the side with Shirley by saying so?”
“I just said casually. Nobody wants to stand with her!”
Shirley comes out and stomps heavily past them.
They hurry to flee embarrassingly in a panic and with blushes.
Shirley’s mood is complex. Can’t be a happy ending together with a heartthrob?
She has done nothing clearly. Even giving back her true title is considered as her instigation by others.
