Corey looked at Hazel as she gestured with her fingers. His brows furrowed.
He thought, ‘What fire? I don’t remember it at all. This woman must have recognized the wrong person.’
Kara felt that the matter was complicated and Corey and Hazel needed a good talk, so they went to a tea shop nearby.
When they arrived, Hazel even wanted to sit down next to Corey. But for safety, Kara felt that it was better to let Hazel sit with Liz.
When Corey was angry, he would really kill people. Kara was a little afraid.
“Corey, what are you looking for me for?”
Corey looked at Kara and sneered, “It seems that you have gotten used to calling me by my name.”
Kara held her forehead because Corey’s answer didn’t capture the topic.
Corey took out a delicate box from his pocket. “This is the medicine I make for you. Take it once a day half an hour after dinner. Also, there are some things that you can’t eat and I have listed them. Take a look by yourself.”
Kara took the delicate little box and found that there was a small orchid in its left corner, and the word “Abbot” was next to the orchid.
She did not expect that a man like Corey would use such a pretty little thing.
“Thank you.”
Kara did not stand on ceremony with him and was about to put the small box into her bag when Hazel snatched it.
“It’s you.” She stared at Corey with a burning gaze.
Corey pinched the space between his eyebrows. He thought that Hazel’s memory was a mess. He had never saved a little girl from the fire, let alone married a little girl who was a dozen years younger than him.
“Hazel also has such a small box.” Kara nodded.
Corey was speechless.
“Corey, are you married?” Kara coughed and asked in a low voice.
Corey curled his lips and stared at her coldly.
“If I’ve been married, won’t I wear a wedding ring?”
Kara found that his right hand was gloved, but his left hand wasn’t, because he had to feel her pulse.
His fingers were long and thin. They were so pale that the light blue blood vessels could clearly be seen. There was only a thumb ring on his hand.
“Corey, why do you always wear glasses? Do you feel it is cool?” Kara asked.
No matter where Corey went, he would wear black glasses and black clothes, looking quite scary.
“Cool?”
Corey revealed a bitter smile, but he did not say much.
He specially came to deliver the medicine to Kara. When he called her, he heard her call for help. He was worried and came over immediately.
However, Kara didn’t say anything when he asked her about it. It seemed that nothing had happened.
Since the medicine had been delivered, he had no reason to stay.
“Kara, in the future, when James is not by your side, don’t be alone. Understand?”
Corey couldn’t help but remind her.
Kara frowned. Every time James had a video call with her, he would mention that. Corey was also emphasizing it.
What was going on?
“Corey, did something happen?”
“It’s fine. Be good and don’t run around.” Corey’s voice was gentle and he got up and prepared to leave.
“Corey, bring me along.”
Hazel got up and grabbed his arm with tears.
Corey hated strangers getting close to him as he instinctively felt it was dangerous. Just as he wanted to get rid of Hazel, he saw her tearful eyes filled with pleading. His heart softened.
“Little girl, I am not that patient. Let go!”
“No.”
Hazel stared at Corey stubbornly and tightened her grip on his sleeve.
“Are you not afraid of death?” Corey warned.
His coldness was scary, but Hazel did not dare to let him go and was afraid that he would not appear again.
“I’m not afraid! Take me with you,” She said with difficulty.
As Kara watched, she broke out in a cold sweat for Hazel. She was also a little cautious. If Corey wanted to make a move, she would immediately stop him.
Corey turned to walk in front of Hazel. He lowered his head to her ear and warned her in a cold voice.
“Little girl, if you come with me, I will scrape your face with a knife and then dissect you alive. Are you not afraid?”
Hazel’s fingers trembled. It was impossible that she was not afraid in her heart.
However, she didn’t want to let go. She was afraid that if she did, she would never be able to catch him again. Then, she would have to live a lonely life.
“When I am alive, I am yours. If I die and become a ghost, I am also yours!”
She stubbornly raised her face, her rosy lips trembling as she spoke.
…
“When I am alive, I am yours.”
“If I die and become a ghost, I am also yours!”
Those sentences were pleasant to hear.
Corey sneered and placed his cold hand gently on Hazel’s neck, looking like a dangerous poisonous snake.
As if in the next second, his poisonous venom would paralyze Hazel’s brain. Hazel trembled in fear.
“I’ll break your neck. Are you not afraid of it?”
“No, I’m not afraid!” Hazel’s teeth were also trembling.
“Okay. Then follow me.”
Corey sneered, grabbed her hand, and took her away.
“Corey,” Kara saw that Hazel was trembling in fear and quickly stopped Corey. However, Corey did not stop. She was nervous.
“Uncle … don’t hurt her. She is my friend.”
Corey was a little stunned when he heard Kara call him uncle. He stared at her for a long time and patted her head with his gloved hand.
“Don’t worry. If I were to dismember her, I would give you the body.”
Kara was so scared that her face turned pale.
Hazel swallowed a mouthful of saliva out of fear. Her expression changed, but she still could not bear to leave him.
“Corey, you…” Kara stretched out to stop Corey, but she saw Hazel shake her head and smile.
“No. Corey, very good.”
Corey gave Hazel a sideways glance and sneered with disdain.
Whether he was good or not, she should not make a conclusion so easily.
Corey took Hazel away from the tea shop. Hazel stared at his tall back with admiration and ran shoulder to shoulder with him.
But his legs were much longer, and she had to run two or three steps if he took one step.
Corey noticed her movements and unconsciously slowed down his footsteps. He looked at her coldly.
Hazel’s back was drenched from his stare, but she still endured the pressure and looked at him firmly.
Corey felt bored and got in the car.
In the car.
Hazel wanted to talk to him, but when she thought that he might get impatient with her sign language, she lowered her head and felt inferior.
She had always been determined that she would marry Corey. Even if she did not marry him for the rest of her life, she would find him.
But when she really saw him, she found that she was not perfect and she seemed to be not worthy of him.
Outside a villa, Corey parked his car.
Hazel raised her head and stared at him expectantly.
“Corey.”
“Tell me, what is your purpose?” Corey’s voice was cold.
He was in front of Kara just now, and he did not want her to see the bloody things he did.
Hazel shook her head and grabbed his sleeve, but was mercilessly flung away.
She had no choice but to undo the buttons on her clothes and pull down her collar.
