Chapter 440 I’ll Spare Your Life!

Book:Uncle's Love: My Sweet Little Wife Published:2024-5-29

At the University A in the NK City.
Kara propped up her jaw and stared at the blackboard blankly. She was thinking of James.
She didn’t know how his investigation was going. If he didn’t tell her, she wouldn’t dare to ask, so she was worried.
In fact, she had already guessed the result, but she didn’t dare to face the evidence.
“Kara, are you in a bad mood?”
Liz saw that Kara was unhappy and was a little worried.
“No. I was just upset that I left too quickly in the morning and forgot to bring my snacks.”
Liz twitched her mouth speechlessly.
She and Kara returned to the dormitory. Hazel was ready to give Kara acupuncture. In the past, when Rita was there, they had to speak in a low voice. Otherwise, if Rita was unhappy, she would give them a cold face.
None of them was willing to argue with Rita and they were reluctant to stay in the dormitory, so they often went to the library to read.
Kara made a bet with Rita because she wanted Rita to move out of the dormitory.
“Wow! Hazel, your little box is so unique. It even has a unique little orchid embroidered on it.”
Liz sat beside curiously and found an old box with a small embroidered orchid.
Hazel immediately took the box from Liz’s hand and carefully protected it in her arms.
Liz stared at her in a daze. “It’s an old box. How can you…”
“Corey, future husband.” Hazel stared at the box shyly. “A gift.”
Liz couldn’t help but laugh.
She was surprised and asked curiously, “Hazel, is it a gift given by the man you like?”
“Yes.” Hazel nodded solemnly with some anticipation on her face.
“Kara is engaged. You like someone. Only I am single!” Liz felt sorry for herself.
After the acupuncture, they rested for a while, then went downstairs to the library directly.
On the way, Liz talked about the person that Hazel liked and Kara also asked curiously. They kept laughing.
Suddenly, Kara heard footsteps behind her and thought it was her illusion.
She tugged at Liz and asked Liz to pretend to look behind. Liz was also nervous.
Liz turned around and only saw a few students behind them. Nothing was unusual.
“Kara, don’t be suspicious. It’s scary.”
“Maybe I was thinking too much. It’s okay.”
Kara comforted herself and also turned around to have a look. She saw Madelyn standing behind her and was a little frightened.
“Are you looking for me?” Madelyn raised an eyebrow at her.
“Of course not! You are walking behind me. I should be the one asking you that question!”
Kara was so scared that her face turned pale. Madelyn suddenly appeared behind her and it was really scary.
“You are right. I’m looking for you.” Madelyn smiled meaningfully and circled Kara.
“With your appearance, I don’t know why James takes a fancy to you. Is he blind?” Madelyn said with disdain.
Kara laughed coldly, “Don’t be jealous. The fact that James and I are together has broken your heart. I know it. Moreover, from James’s point of view, your appearance is also just so-so.”
“You…”
Madelyn gritted her teeth, wishing she could cut off Kara’s tongue!
“Kara, you really need to be punished!”
“Thank you for your praise. But unfortunately, the person who can punish me will not be you,” Kara retorted coldly.
“Kara, don’t be arrogant too early. I…”
Before Madelyn could finish speaking, Kara’s phone vibrated and she immediately picked it up.
“James, someone is bullying me.”

Madelyn heard James’s name and recalled that she had almost lost her life last time because of James. Panic flashed in her eyes.
“She didn’t hit me, but she said she wanted to teach me a lesson. Why don’t you help me teach her a lesson? Don’t take much effort. Just let her never sway in front of me.”
“Kara, you slut! Just wait and see!” Madelyn gritted her teeth and glared at Kara angrily before turning to leave.
“I don’t want to wait and see. I’m very busy!”
Kara retorted angrily. When she picked up the phone again, she coughed lightly.
“Corey, I…”
“Someone bullied you? Who?” Corey said with a cold tone as if he would shoot the other party as long as he saw her.
When Kara thought of the scene of him killing someone, her shoulders trembled and her back turned cold.
“No. No one bullied me.”
“Kara, don’t lie. What’s going on?” Corey insisted, “Where are you? I’ll go find you.”
“I’m at the campus now. I am about to go to the library. I just met a female classmate on the way. You…” Kara tried to explain.
However, she heard the sound of the door being closed and then the sound of footsteps.
“Corey, I’m fine. Don’t be so nervous.” She knew that she couldn’t stop Corey.
“I saw you.” Corey hung up. Kara did not know whether to laugh or cry.
She looked around, but she did not see him. She was puzzled.
“Kara, what happened?”
Liz saw that Madelyn had come and Madelyn’s tone was unfriendly. She was about to speak but was stopped by Kara.
She and Hazel could only stand to the side and watch. Seeing Kara’s helpless expression, she asked doubtfully.
“It’s nothing. An elder will come to me,” Kara explained.
Although she didn’t want to admit that Corey was her uncle, Corey’s concern for her moved her.
Not many people in the world cared about her, and Corey was barely one.
Corey, dressed in black, walked over quickly from afar, and Kara waved at him.
“Are you alright?”
Corey seized up Kara to make sure that she was fine. Then he heaved a sigh of relief.
“I said that I’m fine. I was just joking with my classmates.”
Corey did not speak nonsense and pinched her wrist to feel her pulse.
After confirming that her pulse was stable, he raised his eyebrows in surprise and pushed her shoulder so that her back was facing him. He checked the back of her neck, but there was no green mark.
“Someone did acupuncture for you?”
“Yes. Hazel, my classmate, did it for me.”
Kara looked confused and turned to look at Hazel, only to find that Hazel was staring at Corey.
“Hazel, are you alright?”
Hazel seemed to have been bewitched and her eyes fixed on Corey. She even took a few steps forward and reached out to remove his glasses.
“Don’t do it!”
Corey frowned and took a step back, staring at Hazel defensively.
“Corey?”
Corey frowned and thought Hazel was crazy. He didn’t even know her, but why did she call him Corey?
And why did she know his name?
Moreover, he was now thirty-five years old. It was too abrupt for a strange girl to call him by his name.
“Corey, you are Corey.” Hazel cried and hugged him.

Kara and Liz looked at each other in confusion.
Suddenly being hugged by a woman, Corey was stunned. When he reacted, he pushed Hazel away and pulled the shirt that was wrinkled by her in annoyance.
“Since you are Kara’s classmate, I will spare your life. If you do anything more like this, don’t blame me for being merciless!” Corey warned.
“No, Corey. She’s my friend. She is so excited and it might be because she has recognized the wrong person.”
Kara heard Corey’s cold tone and knew that he was not joking, so she immediately stood in front of Hazel.
However, Hazel pushed Kara away and wanted to walk to Corey.
“Corey. Corey…”
Corey glared at her coldly and took a step back to keep a distance from her.
“Hazel, what happened?” Kara asked with worry.
Hazel wiped her tears and quickly gestured with her hands.
“My throat was injured in a fire. It was Corey who saved me and treated me. He even said that if he cured me, he would let me be his bride.”
