After that “date” with Luke, we stopped by a fast-food restaurant and grabbed a bite there. He apologized, embarrassed that he brought me into a fast food restaurant on our first date. Well, it wasn’t his fault though. It was Nathan and Caleb who forced him to go here. Luke’s plan was originally to eat at a high-end restaurant.
“It’s fine, I really enjoyed today Luke,” I said, assuring him. Well, I really don’t mind it. It’s really fine for me. But Luke seems so affected by it as he felt a bit disappointed, saying that he could do better than this.
“Then how about you take me on another date? But during that time, that’s the date that I consider as our first.” I suggested, cheering him up. He brightened at this and nodded aggressively, “Yes. Thank you again, Snow.”
He then drove me and Nathan home after that and as usual, I spent my weekdays working at the shop.
The next Saturday when I was free, I already quit my part-time job from the ice cream shop, as Mr. Tim had already agreed. He also gave me my paycheck for the past month, as Eion wasn’t there when I visited. The money wasn’t that much but I’m grateful for it.
Also, classes will start about three weeks from now and I have already prepared my papers for enrolling. I had many options of schools to attend but the number one in my choice is the one where Hannah, Luke, Emma, and the boys are attending. The Anastolgia High. The school is awesome and the group is there so that school is definitely the one. So now, I am preparing to take the exams there.
“Mom I’m going now!” I shouted, trying my shoelaces downstairs.
“Okay, sweetie! Good luck!” She shouted back from the kitchen, and appeared in front of me, “Wait a minute I’ll drive you.”
“Oh, no thanks mom, Hannah and Emma are going to drive me there.”
She paused at that and had this proud look on her face, “You are really making many friends, Snow. I’m glad you’re finally adjusting to this place.” She said. I smiled at her and gave her a goodbye kiss on her cheeks.
“I’m happy too, mom. I gotta go now. Bye!”
And with that, I opened the door and exited our house. I inhaled, feeling the morning summer breeze hit me. I spotted Hannah’s parked car in the driveway.
“Hey, girls,” I greeted them as soon as I jumped in the backseat. Emma was sitting by the front seat while Hannah was the one on the driver’s seat, in charge of driving for today.
“Hey, Snow” they both replied, smiling at the sight of me.
“Are we all ready?” asked Hannah and instantly started the engine.
“Yup,” I replied, and with that, we sped off as Emma turned on the radio.
She spotted my hands trembling from nervousness and fidgeting in my seat. I’m strangely nervous about taking the entrance exam now… I don’t know why… Emma reached out and held my hand, comforting me, “C’mon Snow, don’t be nervous. I know you can do it.”
“Yeah, girl! It’s normal to be nervous but don’t let it eat you alive that you won’t do the test right. Be confident.” Hanah agreed, turning the volume of the radio louder.
“I’m okay. I’m fine. Don’t worry about me.” I reassured them, even though I was hyperventilating inside. Silence passed us and I know that they know I am nervous. They let silence pass us and I thank them for that.
“Everybody gets high sometimes you know
What else can we do when we’re feeling low
So take a deep breath and let it go
You shouldn’t be drowning on your own.”
The silence broke once the song Cold Water by Justin Bieber was played on the radio. The three of us stopped, our eyes widening at the sound. Yeah, fun fact. The three of us are all fond of Justin Bieber’s songs!
“And I hope you know….” Hannah shouted, vibing with the song now.
“I won’t let go!” We three sang together. Well, more like shouting as we danced to the song.
“No, I won’t let go” I sang in my high voice, imitating Justin Bieber. We broke into fits of laughter, laughing like there’s no tomorrow. I had never laughed like this before. We stopped when we couldn’t take it anymore. And just like that, my nervousness had vanished like a bubble. I know they just wanted to brighten my mood, and it did. I really appreciate their support, and I am happy to have this kind of friend.
We finally arrived at the school and the exams started. There were also other transferee students who also took the exams, just like me so it also lessened my worries knowing I wasn’t alone.
It was about two o’clock in the afternoon that I had finished taking the exams. Well, now that I am finished with it, I can now sigh in relief. I’m not boasting or anything but the questions are surprisingly easy and thankfully, I know most of the answers.
But that doesn’t mean I can already boast proudly. I have to wait for the results soon enough. I walked towards the gate where Hannah and Emma were waiting and when they spotted me, a big grin grew on their faces.
“Difficult?” asked Emma once I reached them.
“A bit… But I did my best…” I simply answered, not that confident.
“Oh cmon, I’m sure you’ll pass, now, cheer up!” Hannah said brightly, causing people to look at us.
“Sorry!” apologized Emma to them and she turned to me, “What you need is to relax. Why don’t we go shopping?”
“So it’s going to be our Girls’ Day then?” asked Hannah.
Emma waved off, “No, it’s not. Today is going to be Snow’s Day.”
I raised my eyebrows at her, “Mine?”
She nodded, patting me on the back, “Yeah, girl! You need to cheer up!”
We jumped in Hannah’s car and drove through the streets. After turns and corners and green lights, we arrived at the mall, instantly jumping out of the car when Hannah parked her car, “Let’s eat first!” I exclaimed.
“Okay, it’s up to you,” Hannah shrugged.
“You’re the boss,” Emma smirked at me.
We went to a coffee shop to have a chill hangout first. I ordered a Chocolate Chip cream frappuccino. Hannah got White Chocolate Mocha Frappuccino while Emma chose Caramel Frappuccino. I also ordered a chocolate cake since I’m hungry. Well, I’m stress eating I guess. I don’t care anymore. Sitting by the booth, we ate now.
“So Hannah, any news about Leroy?” I asked Hannah after I had finished eating my cake.
“Oh, not much progress lately… I’m just looking at the bright side now. At least he doesn’t have a girlfriend.” Said Hannah, sipping on her drink.
Emma interjected, “Yet. Be quick, he may find someone.”
“Yes, he will, and that someone is going to be me,” she said dreamily.
“Stop dreaming, make it happen,” Emma said.
“That’s right, Dax,” I smirked at Emma, calling her with Dax’s name to tease her.
“Seriously, Snow?” She scrunched her nose in disgust. I shrugged my shoulders innocently. “What? Are the both of you okay now?” I asked.
She just stayed silent and I didn’t try to pry any further.
We continued sipping our beverages when a thought came to me. Smiling goofily, I faced Hannah and said, “You know Hannah… I think Leroy was waiting for someone…”
She stopped at that, “Who?”
“I don’t know…..” I said, trailing off.
“Snow, tell me. Who is it?” She was getting desperate now, leaning closer to hear what I was about to say.
“Hannah… Don’t get mad but I think he likes… Emma,” I whispered the last part, adding effect. I meant it to be a joke but she took it seriously. She jolted in her seat and her eyes widened.
