“How can you say so?” She asked, glancing at Emma who was now innocently playing games on her phone, she didn’t hear us since she’s too preoccupied.
“Well, I saw him constantly glancing at her,” I said and shrugged. When in fact, I always caught Leroy staring at Hannah. Hmm, this is just a small tease, and see what’s going to be Hannah’s reaction…
“What!” She shouted and the people stared at us. We apologized to them before continuing our conversation.
“What?” Emma was staring at us innocently once she noticed we were talking about something. Then I began laughing at the priceless look of Hannah, looking at Emma with a sad expression.
“What’s wrong with her?” Emma asked me, dumbfounded.
Hannah glared at me, realizing I was just messing with her. “Arghhh! Snow! You little ugg shhh!”
“What? What are you two hiding?” Emma asked curiously.
“She…. believed…. that-” I said between laughter. Either my laugh is infectious or I look funny when I laugh when Hannah begins to laugh also.
“It’s not funny Snow,” Hannah said seriously when she recovered. Once I had also recovered from laughing. I started to explain. “Hannah believed what I had said that Leroy likes you,” I said to Emma.
“What!” Emma shrieked. The people look at us again, and we apologize again.
I shrugged, “Well, I intended it to be a joke but I didn’t expect that she’ll believe it”
Hannah snorted at me, “I believed because you said it in a serious tone! And you know how I am obsessed with Leroy!” She protested.
“I’m sorry, okay? The expression on your face was just priceless. I couldn’t help but want to tease you for a while..”
“Whatever. Please don’t do it again, I might get a heart attack,” she said drastically. “And plus, maybe I will not approve of you to Luke.” At the sound of it, my ears perk up.
“Oh yes, you will….. You’re my friend, you won’t do it,” I said.
“Then you should be a good girl okay?” She said like talking to a five-year-old.
“Okay.” I shrugged.
We continued talking and laughing at jokes, then went to each of the stalls, trying different clothes and planning on shopping now.
“Does it suit me?” Ask Emma. The dress was purple, hugging her curves and clung to the right places. I eyed her up and down like a scanner. When I thought it looked good on her, I nodded and gave her a thumbs up.
She looked at herself in a mirror and twirled. They made me a judge to know if a dress looks good to them or not, though I’m not a professional at picking, I just trust my instincts. I didn’t mind since I don’t plan on trying out a dress and buying one. I continued looking for the dresses, that way, I’d know what I would buy when I needed one.
After a whole twenty or more minutes of staying here, my feet were wobbling in from watching Emma and Hannah trying every single dress. My feet were aching from standing for minutes. I spotted a nearby bench and walked slowly towards it, deciding to just sit while waiting for them. Minutes had passed, Emma and Hannah emerged clutching big bags on their hands.
“Okay, where to next?” Emma asked.
“To the bookstore!” I exclaimed. They both shrug and joked about something like ‘nerd’. I was practically running towards the bookstore, leaving them behind. The smell of books greeted me and I smiled at the sight.
Books, books, and books!
I started to check out the covers and prologue of each book and my eye caught the same familiar book, my dad and I’s favorite book.
The Diary of A Wimpy Kid.
I immediately grabbed it and ran my hand to the texture. There were many books in this series. After grabbing the book that I hadn’t read I went to the cashier and paid for it.
“Thank you!” The cashier said.
“Thank you too!” I said and gave the cashier a friendly smile, happy with my purchase.
I spotted Emma and Hannah in the teen fiction section of the store. “Done?”
“Yup,” I answered.
Hannah nodded, “Good, then what shall we do now? Wanna go home?” she asked.
Thinking about it, I suddenly felt my body wanting to collapse to my soft mattress in my room. “Yeah, I want to take an afternoon nap,”
“Me too.” Emma agreed too, and Hannah nodded, yawning for a bit. “Okay, Let’s go home now, I’m sad to say that Snow’s day or girl’s day is over, but I’m also tired.”
We then headed to the mall’s parking lot and jumped in Hannah’s car.
“What did you buy?” Asked Emma to me curiously from the front seat while Hannah started the car and drove through the road.
“Diary of a Wimpy Kid,” I said while handing the book to Emma.
Emma looked at it and said, “Hmm, not so bad.”
“Oh, I think that’s Eion’s favorite book,” Hannah informed me when she saw it.
I raised my eyebrows at her, “What? Eion’s? I’m surprised that he even reads books.” I commented.
Hannah shrugged, “Well, he’s not that an avid reader, but I remember him scolding me back when I was still a child for coloring it. He really had many of them in his bedroom.”
Ohh.. that’s a bit strange. But I find it good that someone appreciates my favorite book. And that ends our hangout for today. I returned to my room, glanced at my phone for any of Luke’s texts, and when I saw he didn’t, I just instantly took a nap.
