CHAPTER 48
Abe rushed to Basil.
“Basil!” Abe and Silvia called out in shock as he tried to get Basil up but he passed out already.
“Larisa, are you okay?” Abe asked curiously and Larisa nodded as she tried to put herself together.
“What the hell just happened now?” Silvia asked curiously and Abe looked at her.
Abe carried Basil up and placed him back on the chair he was tied to.
“All this wouldn’t have happened if you hadn’t abducted him. What the hell do you want for doing this? He’s your friend but how can you do this to him? What kind of friend does this? Right now Basil is hallucinating and that’s why he woke up for a bit. Regardless of what you’re trying to achieve, endangering the life of your friend to make that happen isn’t worth it” Silvia said seriously.
“You have no idea what’s going on so keep shut. Do you think I enjoy doing this as well, Basil and I have been friends for ages. And I wouldn’t put him in a situation he can’t handle so stop being emotional. The one you should be worried about is Larisa, we have no idea why Basil fell on her and what the kiss was about”
Larisa caressed her lips still in shock.
“Silvia’s idea worked, although I had no plans of pushing through with it. Abe, I think this is more than enough for me. You’ve fulfilled your promise and I’m contented with this” Larisa said with a wide smile.
“Huh! You’re not traumatized by it? I bet you’ve never seen Basil that way and that’s why I’m worried about you” Abe said and Silvia smirked.
“Why would she be traumatized about that? It’s something she would have experienced sooner or later. It felt like Basil heard what we talked about” Silvia said with a naughty smile.
“I think I preferred it when you were quiet. Stop spouting nonsense. You’re getting Larisa confused. Wait a minute, I thought you’ve never had any friends but how come you’ve learned about things like this already?” Abe asked looking at her and Silvia looked away.
“Well, if you want me to answer that question. You should untie me at least. We’ve created a bond already right” Silvia said and Abe scoffed.
“Don’t even think about it. I can’t jeopardize my whole plan just to get you to tell me about your boring life” Abe said.
“Just untie me already. I’m not running off anywhere. Why do you have so many trust issues?” Silvia yelled.
Larisa looked out at the window.
“It’s almost sunrise. Abe, we should do our next step. For how long do we have to stay here?” Larisa asked.
“Till I get a signal. Luna Emma wouldn’t go to the grand hall if she finds out about this and this will give us enough time to let the alpha and father push through with their plans” Abe said with full determination.
“The Alpha?” Silvia asked curiously but they kept mute.
“How’s this any connection to the alpha? Why on earth would the alpha approve of this? What’s going on? Basil, how are you related to the alpha? And who’s your father exactly?” Silvia threw in.
“You will find out soon enough. I’m not in the mood to make an introduction but you will find out for yourself. You’ve been dying to meet the alpha in person, how about I introduce you to the alpha but…” Abe pursed and Silvia stared at him curiously.
“But what?” Silvia asked curiously and Abe smirked.
“But I’ve got a condition. You’ve got to earn something in return for an achievement, don’t you think?”
“What’s the condition? I will do anything”
“Are you sure, you won’t give it some thought before agreeing to do it?” Abe asked and Silvia nodded.
“Abe, you always have a way of making everyone desperate when you get involved” Larisa laughed.
“Well, that was how I grew up. My family is way too good to give birth to a fool”
“How difficult is your condition?” Silvia asked.
“Become Ambrose’s girlfriend. Get closer to him and that’s my condition and you will be meeting with the Alpha tomorrow. Alpha Devon is quite generous when it comes to helping upcoming warriors, you might win his favour and trust me, I don’t bluff. I will introduce you to me tomorrow, that’s if you accept my condition” Abe said coldly and everyone’s eyes were fixed on him.
“Ambrose? You’re not done with him yet?” Larisa asked curiously and Abe smiled.
“I’m far from done. I find him very suspicious and there’s no way, I’m letting go of my gut feeling” Abe said seriously.
“Do you think Silvia will be able to do that? She doesn’t mingle and Ambrose looked like the hard type” Larisa pointed out and Abe looked at Silvia who was lost in thoughts.
“Silvia, will you do it or not?” Abe cut in and Silvia smirked.
“Is that all I need to do? Become Ambrose’s girlfriend?” Silvia asked with a vicious smile.
“Yes, I have trust issues so I need you to confirm my doubts. Can you do it?”
“It’s not a big deal, of course, I can do it. I managed to get Basil to agree to take me to alpha. I believe I can do it for Ambrose as well. He wouldn’t be more hardheaded than Basil” Silvia said and Larisa chuckled.
“I guess, you haven’t heard?” Larisa asked.
“Heard what?” Silvia asked curiously.
“Do you think Abe would have assigned you to do something like that if Ambrose was just a simple werewolf? Ambrose is way worse than Basil. Are you sure you still want to do this? You’re prideful so I don’t think this condition is meant for you. You should rethink your decision” Larisa said and Silvia looked at Abe.
“Larisa is right. You might get killed if Ambrose or his father finds out, you’re a spy. They’re both heartless and they don’t let their emotions get the best of them, keep that in mind but if you still want to push through with it. You should think of a solid plan on how to make your mission work out and don’t underestimate me. Just because I introduce you to the alpha, doesn’t mean I won’t make the table turn so watch your back. You must fulfil my condition” Abe said seriously and Silvia sighed deeply.
“I wouldn’t have said I will do it if I wasn’t sure of myself. And I hate being indebted to anyone so don’t think I will get away without fulfilling the condition but if you don’t mind, do you mind sharing with me exactly why you want Ambrose to be tagged”Silvia asked curiously.
“You will find out yourself and that’s exactly why you’re being assigned to do that”

The Grey pack house…
It’s past sunrise already. All the maids and slaves are running around trying to put things in order before Emma leaves for the grand hall for her announcement.
A maid ran into Emma’s chambers as she was getting ready.
“Milady,” The maid trembled as she found it out spitting out what she came to say and Emma turned to her.
“Why are you trembling?” Emma asked calmly and the maid held her dress in fear with sweat pops all over her face.
“What’s going on?” Emma asked again and the maid went down on her knees.
“I’m so sorry Milady but I think the young master didn’t spend the night at the pack house” The maid announced still trembling and Emma stood up in shock.
“What did you just say?” Emma asked with a confused look.
“We searched every corner and all chambers but there was no sign of the young master”
Emma picked up her cell phone quickly and placed a call across to Basil.
“He’s not picking up,” Emma said seriously.
“Young master didn’t leave with his cell phone. His cell phone was found at his chambers” The maid added and Emma ran out of her chambers as she looked around.
“Basil! Basil! Basil” Emma kept on calling as she ran around in the pack house and she bumped into Alpha Devon with Kent next to him.
“Emma, what’s going on? You look so disorganized” Alpha Devon pointed out and Emma bite her lower lips frustratedly as she tried to hide her fear.
“I was told Basil didn’t spend the night at the pack house,” Emma said as her hands shivered and she held it with her other hand.
“What do you mean Basil isn’t here? Basil doesn’t sleep out and it’s odd enough that you thought he didn’t spend the night here” Devon said seriously.
“What do you mean odd? What else can explain the situation right now? He left his cell phone and he didn’t spend the night at his chambers” Emma half yelled.
“It’s nothing we should panic about. I will look into it. I guess maybe he’s with Abe or any of his friends” Kent said.
“Basil doesn’t have any other friends” Alpha Devon and Emma chorused in anger.
“I will look into it. Excuse me” Kent said and left.
Emma held her forehead with her palm as she exhaled frustratedly.
“It will be fine. Kent will look into it. It’s nothing you should worry about and after all, Basil isn’t a pub anymore. He’s slowly growing into an adult werewolf and he can protect himself” Devon comforted as he tried to pat Emma’s shoulders but she walked away.
“Where are you going? I told you Kent will take care of it” Devon said as he walked next to her.
“I know and that’s exactly why I want to go finish up my preparation for my trip to the grand hall. I’m not done getting dressed yet” Emma said and Devon clenched his fist.
“What the hell are you doing Emma? Your only son is missing and you’re still thinking about getting dressed. Does Basil even mean anything to you?” Devon fired and Emma glared at him.
“Devon, don’t pick a fight with me. You told me minutes ago, I shouldn’t worry about it and that’s exactly what I’m doing. I need to take care of the battles I have ahead of me. I believe you and Kent will take care of Basil on my behalf” Emma said coldly and Devon bite his lower lips as he furrowed his eyebrows angrily.
“You think going to the grand hall is more important than the life of our only son. Just because I said you shouldn’t worry about it, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t worry about it. You’re his mother for goodness sake. As a sign of your concern, you should adjoin whatever plans you have today until we find Basil but what? You want to go get dressed” Devon yelled.
“Devon!” Emma yelled angrily and all the maids around shrunk in fear. They’ve never seen Devon and Emma fight openly.
“Show me some respect, Emma! Where does it hurt? Did I get you? Just because of Jackson’s words to you, you’re losing yourself for it. Am I supposed to sit back and let you lose yourself over a mere true Alpha position? Get yourself together Emma” Alpha Devon yelled angrily.
“Yes, it’s a mere true Alpha position but you fought all your life just to get it. I know so well that you don’t want me to accept the position but I’m sorry Devon, not even you can stop me from doing that. I love my son so much but as much as I love Basil, I also have to take care of my responsibility as the chosen one. Don’t provoke me more than you’ve done already” Emma said coldly then walked away.
Alpha Devon stood there in shock as he tried to understand the whole scene.

Abe’s hideout…
Basil opened his eyes slowly and the first person his eyes landed on was Larisa.
“You! What did you do to me?” Basil screamed and he sat up swiftly.
“Basil, you’re up?” Abe asked with a smile and Basil looked around.
“Where the hell is this place?” Basil asked with a grimace.
