CHAPTER 46
Basil head out of the academy and out of the blue, Silvia ran to him.
“What the hell do you want? You said you will work it out yourself so can you go ahead and give it a try? Stop bugging me it’s annoying” Basil exclaimed and Silvia jumped on his back and ruffled his hair.
“What are you doing? Get down from my back. Get down! Silvia” Basil screamed as Silvia gave him deaf ears and ruffled his hair even more.
“You’re so stubborn!” Silvia yelled playfully and suddenly Basil felt ticklish with what was doing and he boosts into laughter.
“Silvia, can you get down now? It’s ticklish” Basil laughed even more.
His laugh gave Silvia even more room to push through with what she was doing.
“What are they doing?” Some students murmured to themselves as they watched Basil and Silvia from afar.
“Oh no! I had no idea she was this close to Basil, I should have been nice to her. I hope I can still be friends with her” Larisa mumbled as she watched them as well.
“I’m friends with Basil too” Abe whispered in her ears from behind Larisa turned around quickly and her eyes went wide open.
“Abe!” She called out with a wide smile.
“Come with me,” Abe said as he held her hands and they left for a quiet classroom.
Mia watched them leave and she clenched her fist angrily.
Ambrose watched Basil and Silvia from afar and he smirked.
“Looks fun,” Ambrose said in a low tone and he looked up at the sky.
I still haven’t placed my plan on what father ordered. Basil said in his head and exhaled deeply.
…..
Abe and Larisa sat down.
“Abe, I thought I would never see you again after your last visit to our pack” Larisa pouted and Abe smiled.
“Of course, I had plans of coming someday with Basil since you’ve always admired him from afar”
“I’ve never even seen him before. All thanks to our visit today, I was able to speak with him one-on-one” Larisa said with a smile.
“That’s not all. I can help you meet him in person but I need something else in return. I’ve heard about your massive progress on your training and luckily you’ve learned how to control your wolf” Abe said with a half smile and Larisa looked at him with determination.
“What is it? I will help you with anything just to get an audience with Basil” Larisa said with full determination.
“You like him that much? What if it’s something that will hurt him? Or bring harm to him? Will you still do it?” Abe asked and Silvia stared at him intensively.
“For a second I forgot you once told me, you’re close friends with Basil. I don’t think you will do anything that will bring harm to him” Silvia said and Abe laughed.
“Do you trust me that much? Well, you’ve got no idea what I’m capable of doing and just so you know, you’ve agreed to help me and in exchange speak with Basil in person” Abe said coldly.
“Abe, you’re scaring me”
“You should think back on what I told you the first time we met. I told you I can do whatever it takes to remain positive and you said that motivated you so why are you suddenly acting weak? You’re the Princess of the black wolf pack. Do you still think it’s time for you to reconsider?” Abe asked seriously.
“I’ve placed my trust in you and I believe you won’t break it. After all, to maintain a positive line, we’ve got to take some risks and I’m willing to help” Larisa said calmly.
Ambrose eavesdrop on their conversation.
“So what’s the plan?” Larisa asked curiously and Abe looked behind.
“Meet me in the backwoods after sunset. I plan on killing him there” Abe said and Larisa’s eyes went wide open in shock.
“What!” She screamed in shock.
“You heard me right. Don’t worry I will be keeping my word. You will speak with Basil before it all ends” Abe said coldly.
Ambrose clenched his fist angrily as he felt the conspiracy in Abe’s voice.
He walked away.
He’s supposed to be friends with Basil. What the hell! Ambrose said in his head angrily.
“Abe, why would you want to kill your childhood friend? If this is any way of maintaining a positive line then I don’t wish to push through with this. I’m out” Larisa said seriously then stood up.
Abe held her hand and winked at her.
Larisa smiled.
“I’m on it” Larisa whispered then left the classroom.
Abe signalled to her that they will speak on the phone.

Basil took Silvia back to the pack house after all the struggles and playful fights.
“Is it right for you to bring me over to your chambers?” Silvia asked and Basil scoffed.
“What are you thinking? Why would I do that? You might sound honest with your intentions but I’m not sure if you’re being honest by coming through me” Basil said and sat down.
“So is this your room or not? That’s all I’m interested in right now” Silvia said.
“Why are you eager to know about that? This isn’t my room so drop it” Basil said.
“Then where’s this place? It’s beautiful” Silvia complimented as she stood up.
“I brought you over to the guest quarters. You can spend the night here, it might be late to return to the academy after sunset” Basil said looking away.
“You have the heart to think of my safety. Thank you but when am I meeting your father?” Silvia asked excitedly.
“I’m not doing this because I wish to help you. I’m only doing it because you’re fun and persistent and father might not have a problem with you here” Basil said.
“So does that mean I will be meeting with him today?”
“Don’t be too hasty. I will go speak with father now but I don’t think you can see him today. Maybe tomorrow” Basil said and Silvia ran to him and held his hand playfully.
“Please, please can you make it today? Please Basil, can you convince your father to meet with me today?” Silvia requested and Basil laughed.
“Alright fine. I will get to it” Basil said and Silvia smiled.
Basil stood up from the couch he was seated on.
“I will be right back. Stay here and don’t move an inch” Basil warned and he left the room to Devon’s chambers.
He walked in and papers have been scattered everywhere.
“Father, what’s going on? You could have done this in your study” Basil said looking around and Devon glanced at him.
“I don’t have that much time to do all this at the study and I wanted to secure some privacy,” Devon said going through all the papers.
“Father, what’s going on?” Basil asked curiously.
“I don’t know how to explain this to you but I don’t think your mother is making the right decision and I’m looking for ways to stop her. But why are you here?” Devon asked with his eyes fixed on the papers.
“I came to check up on you but seems you’re busy, I will take my leave now. Father, if you want I can speak to mother about it”
“Don’t get involved. She might take it the wrong way and this is adult stuff so don’t get involved. Let me handle it, is there anything I can’t do?” Devon scoffed.
“Of course not, father. I will take my leave now” Basil said and left the chambers and met Silvia at the door.
“Sir, she said she knew you and I told her this is a restricting area” One of the guards explained and Basil glared at Silvia and walked away.
She ran after him and held his hand.
“Let go of me” Basil yelled and jerked her off.
“I’m sorry, Basil” Silvia said in a low tone.
“What on earth were you thinking? I told you I will see to it so what the hell are you doing at the alpha’s quarters? Do you have any idea what they would have done to you if I didn’t come out on time? I told you I will speak to father so don’t push it. Don’t make me regret accepting to help you. You should head back to your room. I will meet you in the morning” Basil said and walked away.
Basil went to Emma’s chambers.
Emma was seated on her couch going through some books and papers as well, it’s all history about the grand hall.
“Mother, not you too,” Basil said as he walked in and Emma turned to him.
“Basil, you’re back from the academy. I was told, we’re having guests at the academy” Emma said with a faint smile and Basil picked up one of the papers on the table.
“History about the first true Alpha enthroned at the grand hall” Basil’s read out from the paper and Emma bite her lower lips frustratedly.
“Mother, what’s going on? What’s all this about?” Basil asked and Emma stood up then walked to the window.
“You’ve been busy at the academy so I guess that’s why the news hasn’t gotten to you. Basil, I’ve been offered to be the true Alpha and I’m going to accept it” Emma informed and Basil dropped the paper on the table.
“What! What about father?” Basil asked.
“What do you mean Basil? Of course, your father is fine with it although out of the blue, he started acting weird about it all” Emma said.
“Mother, why do you wish to accept the position? Are you under any threats?” Basil asked.
“What are you saying? This is a matter of life here so why should I be under any threats to accept the position? I never wished to but your father agreed to it immediately after the meeting with the other packs” Emma said.
“Father did?”
“Of course, he did. And then I can’t allow chaos to take place because of my decisions. We all know how hard your father has worked and improved himself just so he would become the true Alpha but things are changed now. I happen to be the chosen one so you see, I can’t get away with my decision without hurting millions of werewolves in the process. Being a true Alpha is a great challenge for me but I will accept it, as long as I will be able to protect the lives of so many” Emma said and Basil sat down.
“If that’s the case mother but why does it feel like you’re not sure about your decision? Why does it feel like, you wish to reciprocate father’s feelings about all this” Basil said slowly and Emma turned to Basil?
“You know nothing about all this Basil. You don’t understand any of it but please I need your support on this. I wish you will understand this once. That’s all I ask of you. I don’t think I will be able to bear it if you and your father don’t give out your support on this. So please can you help your mother with this” Emma said as she walked to Basil and held his hand.
“Have I ever made a bad decision before?” Emma asked and Basil nodded negatively.
“No mother,” Basil said slowly and Emma hugged him tightly.
“I’m hoping to see you tomorrow as I announce my final decision,” Emma said and broke the hug.
Basil stared at Emma tiredly as he felt entangled in the whole thing.
Father, have never bad decision either so who’s wrong this time? Basil questioned in his head as he watched Emma go through the papers on the table.
….
It’s past sunset already.
Abe and Larisa hide somewhere in the backwoods as they waited for Ambrose’s arrival.
“Are you sure he’s going to come?” Larisa asked in a whisper.
“Of course, he will. He’s quite nosy, he won’t miss out on this” Abe replied and just as he said. Ambrose came to the backwoods, looking around.
Ambrose smelled their presence and he smirked.
“What do you want?” Ambrose asked coldly and Abe came out of his hideout.
