Book:She's A Slut, He's A Player Published:2024-5-1

Granny POV
“Is there anything else?” I asked the head of maids. We were both heading to the grocery store, I decided to come with her since it’s been long I went to the store. Besides, I really needed to clear my mind, Alexander was really driving me nuts.
“Uhm mm, granny” She called, staring at the note she has scribbled on in her hand.
“There’s shortage of cooking oil and…” She was saying, but all of a sudden, our car screeched to a halt abruptly.
We both looked forward and discovered that our car just ran into someone, and the person was already lying lifelessly on the floor.
There was a traffic jam immediately and the driver quickly rushed out of the car.
“Oh my goodness!” The head of maids and I chorused before rushing out of the car too.
“What were you thinking, Matthew?!” I yelled on top of my voice at the driver immediately I arrived at the scene.
“I tried honking at her, but I guess she was lost in thought,” He defended shakily while checking the girl’s pulse.
I crouched, but I didn’t even know where to touch.
“Just carry her already, we’re going to the hospital”
He quickly carried her in his arms, the head of maids had already opened the car door.
He gently lay the victim down on the back seat, the head of maids sat with her while I sat at the passenger seat.
“Hurry, hurry,” I told the driver as he got behind the wheels.
“Yes, ma’am,” He said, and quickly zoomed off to the nearest hospital.
Alexander POV
“Yo, boss!” Mack said amiably as soon as he got to my table, but I didn’t look up at him, my head was relaxed on the swivel chair I was sitting on.
“Alexander” He called softly. I breathe out deeply before I finally sat upright, facing him.
“Is something bothering you?” He asked frantically as he sat down.
I shut my eyes for a moment while ruffling my hair.
“I really don’t know Mack, granny is giving me a tough time in the house, and you know how much I hate things being like this between us,” I said with an exasperated sigh.
“Is it still about Olive?”
I nodded slowly.
“I’m really not ready for marriage and even if at all I’m ready for the so-called marriage, then I can’t definitely get married to Olive, but granny wouldn’t understand my point of view, no matter how hard I tried to explain, and it’s killing me!” I yelled in frustration.
“Marriage is a lifelong commitment, before I could think of getting married then I have to be in a proper relationship with a babe first, I wouldn’t like to start sneaking around after getting married. But I do not know why granny refuses to see what I’m trying to explain to her”.
“Uhm mm… Maybe you should listen to her first,” Mack said, and I blinked my eyelids twice.
“I should get married to Olive?”
“Maybe not Olive, but some other girl” Mack shrugged, and I sighed.
“But which girl?”
“We’ll have to start searching for a babe for you,” Mack said with a sneer smile, and I scoffed.
“I’ll do that myself, thanks,” I said sarcastically and started typing on the keyboard of the laptop.
“Uh mm… Alex” Mack called after a brief silence and I glanced at him.
“Why did you say you can’t sneak around after getting married?” He asked, curiously.
I stopped typing and turned to look at him, fully.
“Come on buddy, fine, I might be a big time player or whatever you call it but trust me, whenever I realized my heart has been glued to a girl, then I won’t cheat on her till death do us apart, I shall remain committed to her alone” I explained with a light smile on my lips.
“Whoa… Whoa… I’m so proud of you, boy,” He grinned.
“Who would have thought those lines could come out of your mouth so fluent?” He emphasized, and I rolled an eye.
“Anyway, you were telling me something last night about that hot girl from Lone Star Inn,” Mack says with keen interest.
I pretended I didn’t hear him as I continued the work on my PC.
“Didn’t you say you saw her and Nicholas at a lounge bar?” He continued, and the image of her and Nicholas popped up in my head at once.
“Is she really that cheap?”
“I thought she was some kind of classy babe, and.”
“Enough, Mack” I cut him short calmly, without looking at him.
“Tell me what’s going on with you, Alex”
“This is actually the second time I would be wanting to hear about this girl in question, but you don’t wanna talk about her, which is very unlike you”
Mack bemoaned, and I just exhaled loudly.
“I just don’t want to talk about her and that’s all,” I said simply.
“Why?”
“Because you’re in love with her?” Mack says, and I think my heart beat skipped twice. I slowly took my eyes to his face, dumbly.
“I’m correct Alexander, you’re really in love with her” Mack said, elated.
“Are you out of your mind?”
“How on earth would I fall in love with a prostitute?” I huffed, removing my gaze from his face.
He didn’t say anything and after a tensed moment, he got on his feet.
“Talk to you later,” He said, and left my office immediately.
Uhm mm…
What was that?
In love with her?
Kiara POV
In the evening…
I sat on the bed, staring into space.
Memories of how the car had knocked her down kept reeling in my head.
I made a facepalm and heaved a deep sigh.
Who’s she?
Why did she keep crossing my mind?
A knocked came on the door, bringing me out of my thought.
I stood up and sighed ruefully before walking to the door.
“Hey babe,” Nicholas greeted cheerfully as soon as I opened the door.
“Hi” I brushed my hair backward with my fingers and paved the way for him to enter.
“Huh?”
“Why aren’t you dressed yet?” He asked, surprised.
“Don’t you want to go out with me?” He added, sadly.
I walked past him and plonked myself on the bed.
“I would have said no to you, immediately I read your text, if I don’t want to go out with you,” I said dryly.
“Then why aren’t you dressed yet?” He questioned, while sitting on a stool close to the bed.
“I saw an accident this noon on my way to the city mall” I tucked the loose strand of my hair behind my ear while I talk.
“I was really frightened, and immediately I’d wanted to come out of the cab, the car owner stepped out and carried her away, probably to the hospital. So, I couldn’t see her face. I explained, bitterly.
“Then why are you so depressed about it?” Nicholas further asked.
“I don’t know either Nicholas, somehow, I strongly feel like I’m connected with the girl, it feels like we share some kind of bond”
“I can feel it, I sure can feel the bond, but the question is, what bond is it? Why can’t my mind get off her?” I shoved my fingers in my hair as I wondered aloud.
“It’s okay, Kiara”
“We’ll find an answer to it, but first, let’s enjoy the night” He slung me a mischievous smile and I managed to offer a small smile.
I got on my feet and walked towards the closet.
I really hope she’s okay.
