Ava has to come to terms with some facts in her life. That no one who tries helping her will not get hurt. And maybe she should start treating men the same way her father and Alpha Jax treat women. But Benjamin’s behavior has to change her mindset. Then it has to be men in power. They get so drunk by the sharp and addictive liquor they get from being in power, that they forget about others.
Her father treated her mother like they were trash. Like they were not humans, not to even say of not being treated like a family member. He could not have given birth to her or get married if he knows this is what he will be doing with his family. It’s embarrassing and disappointing.
And Alpha Jax. Even though he is not married, he could deny her being her mate and she would have to stay with the moon goddess for a month till her destiny is changed. But he is not declining or accepting her. At a time, he made her heart get fond of him. Even though it’s all within a month, it’s undeniable that she has fallen deep in love with this monster. A leader who does not care about his people.
And for Benjamin, she has come to accept that he is her angel sent from heaven. With him, she is starting to feel pity and interest in. She is not even trying to deny the interest growing. And the hope of a good friendship with him. She is ready to accept whatever feelings this leads her in. After all, you can love someone who is your mate, and there is no assurance that your mate is ever going to love you back.
Alpha Jax knows his declaration of war in his first meeting is ridiculous, but he knows it’s what has to happen. He looks at all the faces in this room, and he feels lost within them. He could not see a shimmer of trust in their eyes. Everyone of them wore their doubts boldly on their faces. They are not ready to give their all to an Alpha that disappears into his coven for long. And the only time he comes out, it is to declare war.
Alpha Jax is also worried about what he did to Benjamin. He hopes his act of anger does not come back to haunt him. He should not have done what he did to Benjamin. He agrees. But the anger of the information he heard was just too heightened. If Benjamin should leave or any harm should come to him, there would be nothing to serve as a leverage against Shane Moss’s attack. It would have to resort to an all out war that might mean he would lose everything. But before the war comes out, he needs to gain the trust of his council members, while he lost the trust he gave to Benjamin.
Benjamin is so threatening to him right now. He wonders if he knows about Shane’s ascension already. And he is planning to kill him. And if he doesn’t know about it, he wonders how he would behave immediately he hears about it.
Also, Alpha Jax knew he needed to change his obsession over Ava. He does not know why it has always been her ever since she has arrived. He is just realizing, and he fears if the effect of her being his mate is working on him. He has to stop giving her attention and seeking her attention. He fears if the potion he takes from the dark witch doesn’t work. The wolfsbane mixed with whatever potion the witch has. The mixed wolfsbane is to weaken his wolf’s will. It will make him be in control more. Jax also believes that the Wolfsbane has no effect. He would have to ask for more Wolfsbane and lesser potion of what is added to it. If possible, he would like to totally suppress his wolf’s will and use it only when he needs it. The things he will do to fight against the love of women, especially Ava, even he, is surprised. But he knows the coming days won’t be easy for him.
Benjamin does not really know how fate works. He is not a believer. The moon goddess does not support his way of life. It does not support his sexuality, so why be the follower of a goddess who promised you won’t enter her moon palace with its golden light. But you would rather be tied somewhere around the sun, and left to scorch for all eternity.
Since he does not know how fate works, he does not know what to call what is happening. He has not even begun making plans on how to make the Alpha and Ava have issues. How he would create hatred of the Alpha in Ava, but things has already begin to fall in place. The only thing he has done so far was to make use of the advantages that presented itself. It was enjoyable.
He would have to separate both the Alpha and Ava. He needs to understand what the Alpha’s obsessiveness is all about. And in the process, make Ava fall in love with him. Then she would tell him a part of law of sex slaves she does not know. A part that allow sex slaves to pick a man they want after two months. Except it’s a slave you acquire at war. Even if it’s a paid one, she has the right to ask to be married to someone she is interested in. And she and her husband would have to pay back whatever amount she was bought.
The only reason this law has not been in effect is because there has been no sex slave of the modern era, who is not flustered by the idea of fucking an Alpha or fucking a noble. The Alphas and nobles go for sex slaves that are from poor background, just so tehyw ont develop interest of leaving. Benjamin knows what he has to do to get Ava. After all, he can never have Shane Moss anymore. He has not lost interest in him, but he tries to forget him. Either way, he knows the coming days will be busy for him.
Lily does not know what to say or what to do. She does not know of the recent happening between her brother and Ava. She is still calmed that Ava would do her bidding and both of them could make Jax fall in love all over again. There hasn’t been a real plan on how they intend to do that, but Lily knows she will find a way.
Another thing she needs to dedicate herself to is finding out what her brother has been up to. What he is drinking that he has to hide. She has seen every weird behavior from her brother. She has seen him having sex countless times, but the contents of a small bottle is what he is hiding from her? She knows she has to find out what it is, and these coming days, she will.
