Alpha Jax left Benjamin at the bar. He walked into the elevator. He punched the number of the floor he was going to, and he waited for the doors to close. Within that few seconds, he saw Benjamin’s eyes on him. Benjamin’s innocent eyes. Those eyes that screamed “fuck me” the first time he saw them. The eyes that made Alpha Jax agree to a ridiculous deal just so he could win him. Even though Benjamin had begged his Alpha not to release him, Alpha Jax made it tempting for the Alpha of the night-wolf pack not to release him.
Ever since then, he had enjoyed being with Benjamin. Even though he stopped havin6 sex with him two months after he got him, he still enjoyed him around. Alpha Jax sees Benjamin as a very loyal person. He sees him as a junior brother. And that’s why at times, Alpha Jax talks to him about some issues he would not even discuss with his sister. That’s why he ensured Ava directly under him.
“What?” He said immediately the thought of Ava came to his head.
“Hell no! Not this bitch again,” he lamented. Alpha Jax felt maybe Benjamin was right after all. Maybe he, Alpha Jax should let go of Ava for a while. His obsessiveness with her might be rubbing off on him. Alpha Jax does not care about what Ava feels, but he promised he would distance himself from her.
The elevator dings and it opens. A couple were standing before the elevator. They were about hitting the bottle when the door opened. Alpha Jax came out. He walked forward and headed towards a door tagged Room 306. He knocked on it. The door opened and Alpha Jax went in.
It has been a long time since Alpha Jax saw Brian. He smiled at him. Brian stood up. Alpha Jax walked faster and both of them hugged.
“Oh! Good Brian, how are you?” Jax asked excitingly.
“I am good, Alpha Jax. I have been good!” Brian answered. Both of them let go of each other. Alpha Jax looked at Brian one more time. He hugged him again.
“Brian! How is everything going? It’s been a long time,” Alpha Jax greeted him.
“Oh my Alpha, duty has kept me away from you.”
“And now it has brought you back to me,” Alpha Jax smiled. He has not seen Brian in over two years. They have been communicating over phones but he has not seen him. Brian was his friend ever since before Jax became the Alpha. They had fun together and did things together. Brian was with him and consoled him when Jax lost his brother to that woman. And Brianwas with him when he lost his father, and when he was made the Alpha.
But duty had to take him away. Brian has always been the most loyal friend he has. Brian is in no way compared to Benjamin. Benjamin is someone he has learnt to trust with sexual aspect of his life. But with Brian, it’s different.
Both of them kept on exchanging pleasantries. Alpha Jax is so glad his friend had come back after a long time, but he knew it would be brief because of why Brian had called him.
“My Alpha, as much as I am glad to see you, we need to keep the familiarities short. I need to get back to my pack before they start missing me,” Brian announced.
“Right! Oh Brian,” Jax smiled again. “Why did you ask to meet me?”
“War is brewing my Alpha. A big war,” Brian said.
“War? What war?”
“It will be the kind of war never seen in our world. A war that if care is not taken, might take down the mightiest,” Brian sat upright and faced his Alpha.
“What will be the cause of this war?”
“I don’t know. But I know packs have been strengthening. The weaker packs are creating stronger allies. The rogue pack themselves are getting larger. And my pack, the Elven-wolf pack, has been receiving greetings by the Alpha of the night wolf pack. And he is the one who plans on initiating this war. And the odds of this war are not looking good against you,” Brian said.
“Why? Why is the Alpha of Night-wolf pack waving war against me?”
“I cannot say for certain the reason. But he has gotten far in instigating others,”
“But I know the Alpha of this pack. We have a good deal. We have a good business relationship. I won’t lie, I haven’t checked on him in the past five years, but I don’t think he would want to wage war against me. Trade is still going well,” Jax replied Brian. Just like his question, a confused expression was boldly written on his face.
“I see. He has withheld valuable information from you. Over the last four months, things have changed.”
“My Alpha, when was the last time you had meetings with your nobles. And are you still invested in that sex slave business you have going on?” Brian asked. Jax didn’t reply to him.
“See? You remember I told you it’s better to leave women all alone than the sex slave. You cannot punish a few women and think you have your revenge on women already. Just ignore them all together. Now they have your time and have taken you away from your congressmen,” Brian blamed Jax. Jax did not say a word. He looked down on the table before him.
“Anyways, the night-wolf pack has a new Alpha. One that got in by annihilating the former Alpha. According to rumors, he attacked him while they were camping and hunting. He tore him inside out. He killed every loyal member of the former Alpha and the Alpha’s family ruthlessly. And he took over,” Brian informed Jax. Jax’s face lights up at how strong such an Alpha must be. He knew he would have to make friends with him.
“So he killed the former Alpha’s beta too? Oh! This will be sad news to Benjamin,” Jax sighed.
“No! He didn’t. The beta is the new Alpha. He is the one who killed the Alpha.”
“What? Shane Moss killed his Alpha?”
“In cold blood, My lord.”
