“You!”
Brian didn’t expect Robin to be so bold and arrogant.
He glanced at his henchmen, who were groaning in pain on the ground, his heart sinking. If he refused to give the losing bet to Robin, he would probably end this way.
While he was wondering what to do, a group of men strode toward them. Brian recognized they were the security guards of this underground racing track, and in the lead was Timothy, his best buddy.
“You are so doomed, brat! My best buddy is here. Timothy Buosont is the owner of this race track. Seeing his bodyguards? They’ll beat you up. You’d better run away now.”
Seeing Timothy, Brian looked surprised.
Although they both were from affluent families, Timothy was superior to him. In Stillwater, the Buosont family was one of the most influential clans, and Timothy was their oldest son. Usually, Brian was respected by him.
For the sake of their families’ friendship, Brian believed that Timothy came to back him up.
Thinking of that, he rushed up to Timothy. “Timothy, this bastard made trouble here. He also slandered you. Please let your men teach him a lesson and kick him out. What a scumbag! He doesn’t deserve to stay here. Humph!”
Then he darted at Robin and added triumphantly, “Seen it? Timothy is my best buddy. Mind you. You cannot afford to offend him. You…”
However, before he finished mocking Robin, everyone on the scene heard a loud slap.
All the onlookers gaped at the evident palm print on Brian’s cheek and Timothy, who hadn’t put down his hand.
Timothy did slap Brian across his face just now.
“Why did you hit me, Timothy? You should slap that brat!”
Brian looked baffled, covering his cheek and staring at Timothy in disbelief.
“How dare you call me by my first name! You’ve lost the bet but refused to keep your word. How dare you bully others in my name! You do have the balls to tarnish my Buosont family’s reputation. Hit him!” Timothy ordered sullenly.
“Yes, Mr. Buosont.”
His security guards beat Brian up, and the arrogant man cried in pain. All the onlookers were scared while watching the scene. This was the first time that they had seen Brian be so miserable.
After hitting Brian, Timothy walked to him and reached out a hand. “Give me the money. You owe him 200, 000 dollars. A bet is a bet. If you still refuse, I’ll cut off your third leg.”
“I will… I’ll give him the money.”
Brian shivered in fear. He hurriedly pulled out a bank card for Timothy and told him the password.
Timothy walked to Robin, who hinted at him with his eyes. Instantly, Timothy turned to Nina and asked, “Miss, are you all right?”
“Uh… I’m all right. Thanks.”
“This bank card is for you. 200, 000 dollars in it.”
Nina took over the car, feeling flattered as the oldest son of the Buosont family treated her gently.
Timothy was handsome and competent. When he studied at the University of Stillwater, he was a legendary chairman of the student union. He was one of the top ten campus hunks.
Nina had heard about him frequently.
“I’m glad you are fine. Those guys are too rude. I’ll kick them out,” Timothy explained.
When he went through the surveillance video, he checked Robin’s background, and he learned Robin was the live-in son-in-law of the Houry family. Timothy was confused, wondering why such a bigwig was willing to become a live-in son-in-law.
However, he recalled Robin had reminded his father not to bother him.
Timothy guessed Robin must be on a secret mission and couldn’t expose his identity. Therefore, he tested Robin, and the latter’s response confirmed his guess.
That was why Timothy suddenly treated Nina gentlemanly. He wanted to fawn over Robin in this way, so he would still be the heir of the Buosont family.
“What a lucky bastard! He was so bold to make a bet with Mr. Chase. After he won it, he asked Mr. Chase to pay the wager aboveboard in public. Mr. Chase never keeps his word.”
“I can’t believe his sister-in-law has gained Mr. Buosont’s favor.”
“How surprising, right? I heard Mr. Buosont was always self-restrained and didn’t have a girlfriend. Finally, he has a crush on a girl.”
The onlookers discussed and envied how lucky Robin was. If Timothy hadn’t defended him, he would never be able to get the money.
“Well…”
Nina was at a loss, hiding behind Robin. Suddenly, her phone rang, and she answered it quickly. Her expression changed. “Robin Bailey, you must go to the hospital with me.”
“What happened?” Robin asked.
“I’ll tell you later.”
Nina looked panicked. After bidding Timothy farewell quickly, she left with Robin.
“How insensible this girl is! Timothy Buosont has a crush on her, but she’s run away. Mr. Buosont must feel embarrassed. His family is influential in Stillwater.”
“TSK. TSK. TSK. If I were that girl, I wouldn’t leave now.”
“How silly she is! It’s the pie from the sky. She didn’t grasp it.”
The onlookers sighed regretfully. They rared saw Timothy attentively show his kindness to a woman. However, Nina ignored him and left. She had missed a good chance.
However, Timothy didn’t mind it at all. He ordered his men, “Hurry. Prepare a decent gift. Send it to Rodney Houry’s residence.”
He wished Robin could forgive him for the sake of the gift.
Meanwhile, Robin and Nina had arrived at Stillwater City Hospital. At the door, Nina suddenly stopped mid-step and looked at Robin seriously. “Robin Bailey, you must promise me one thing.”
“Call me brother-in-law first.”
“We agreed you’d take 60%, and I’d take 40% earlier, right? I need the money urgently. I want all the 260, 000 dollars. I’ll return the money to you in the future.”
Robin could tell she was serious, frowning. “Why do you need so much money?”
“I promised you earlier I would tell you how I’d spent 100, 000 dollars borrowed from Doug. You’ll know the answer if you go upstairs with me. However, I have all the 260, 000 dollars now. I’ll borrow your portion first. You cannot refuse. If you do, I’ll tell Elise you harass me.”
With those words, Nina entered the elevator.
Robin followed her. He was curious to find out how she had spent so much money.
