It turned out his father did know Robin.
Realizing how severe the matter was, Timothy paled. He had just phoned his father to test but found out he couldn’t afford to offend Robin. Even his father also couldn’t.
Before resigning from Fort Eastern, his father was a field officer. However, Jason told him Robin used to be a high-ranking officer in his troop. Timothy could tell his father was serious when he threatened to kick him out of the Buosont family.
It meant Robin was indeed a bigwig.
Instantly, Timothy trotted out of his office. However, Robin had been long gone. Timothy slapped himself on the forehead regretfully.
He immediately called over a man. “Trevor, get me the surveillance video of our race track. I’m looking for the driver of the Honda. 20, 000-dollar bonus. If you fail, you’ll be so fired.”
“Yes, boss.”
Trevor was shocked, hurriedly executing his order.
He was the general manager of the underground race track. Although he didn’t know why Timothy was eager to find Robin, he could tell Timothy would fire him if he failed.
Jason used to chat with Robin and tell him about his son in the military. Robin remembered Jason spoiled his oldest son.
Meanwhile, Robin found Nina, who had been surrounded by a lot of bruisers.
They talked dirty to her, “Beautiful, why do you need money? Go home with me. I’ll give you money for one night.”
“Exactly. Sleep with me. I’ll give 100 bucks.”
“You are indeed hot. I heard you were the campus belle of the University of Stillwater. Unfortunately, you’ve encountered us.”
They surrounded Nina, their eyes full of lust. Nina stood in the center like a pitiful rabbit, dodging them.
“Fuck off!”
Frowning, Robin grabbed a man’s shoulder and dragged him backward. The man fell to the ground on his face. Then Robin stood next to Nina.
“Robin, they refused to give us the money.”
Nina seemed to see the lifesaving straw, immediately hiding behind him. Pointing at those bruisers, she complained, “They are all Brian Chase’s henchmen. I asked Brian Chase for the losing bet, but these bastards surrounded me and blocked my way.”
“You do have balls. How dare you make trouble for my sister-in-law,” Robin snapped protectively.
“Brat, you really can fight, huh?”
The man stood up, tilting his neck to warm up. With a fierce look, he pulled out a dagger from his pocket. It wouldn’t end his opponent’s life but make him suffer.
“I’m Martin Stevens. I don’t know Brian Chase. I just watched the match just now. I like this chick and want to take her home. Either you’ll get out of here now, or I’ll stab you.”
Martin Stevens waved his dagger. He was 5’9″ with muscles and looked pretty tough. Ordinary men would be easily scared by his appearance.
Moreover, several bruisers looking like him were standing behind him.
“How hilarious! How dare they ask Mr. Chase for money! 200, 000 dollars, right? That’s a lot. Mr. Chase lost the bed and was embarrassed.”
“The Honda overtook his car and won the match. Mr. Chase must feel humiliated and won’t forget it for years.”
“Those men denied they knew Mr. Chase. Why did you say they were Mr. Chase’s henchmen?”
“Are you a fool? Mr. Chase absolutely doesn’t want to give them the money. All those guys are his henchmen. They stopped this girl from meeting Mr. Chase, so they couldn’t get the money. I guess the two would be scared away.”
The onlookers discussed and believed Robin and Nina couldn’t get Brian’s losing bet.
In another crowd, Brian was watching the scene for fun. Sneering, he snapped, “How dare you be against me! Want my money? You’d better dream on.”
“You’ve gone too far!”
Nina realized why those bruisers had blocked her way. She cursed, “It’s said Brian Chase is a son from an affluent family. He lost the best but was unwilling to pay the losing bet. How despicable! How shameless! Guys, we shall never bet such a man sans credits. Even if you win, he won’t keep his word.”
Her words angered Brian. He didn’t expect Nina to be so bold as to curse him in public.
“Hit them!”
Brian flicked his hand toward his henchmen. Martin sneered, “It’s none of Mr. Chase’s business. Beautiful, you’d better go home with us tonight.”
He stabbed Nina’s hand.
However, before the dagger touched Nina, Martin’s wrist was seized by a big hand. Robin sneered, “Told you she’s my sister-in-law. How dare you!”
As soon as he finished speaking, everyone heard a crisp click.
“Argh!” Martin let out a cry in pain, flinching.
He checked his arm, only to find a scratch, cold sweat oozing his forehead. “Damn it! He broke my arm.”
By instinct, he wanted to flee away, but Brian flicked at him again. He gritted his teeth and shouted, “Guys, hit them! They are alone.”
“You’re risking your neck, bastard!”
The rest bruisers pounced at Robin.
“You are all junk,” Robin uttered in disdain.
In a blink, all the henchmen were knocked over and couldn’t stand up.
“You served in the military for several years, didn’t you? You called them junk. Think you are a general? Stop pretending to be a tough guy.”
Nina breathed a sigh of relief after seeing the gangsters rolling and groaning in pain on the ground.
“Nina,” Robbin called her name.
“What?”
“Are you a chameleon? You’re indeed capricious.”
“YOU are a chameleon!”
Nina glared at Robin, realizing he mocked her.
Brian didn’t gain the upper hand, so he was about to escape. However, Robin looked in his direction, raised his voice, and stopped him, “Wait, Mr. Chase. Where are you going? You owe us 200, 000 dollars.”
Instantly, the onlookers make their way to expose Brian.
“Brat, you’d better think twice. Ask me for money? I’m from the Chase family. Chase Corporation is well-known in Stillwater. If you want to continue staying here, you’d better forget about the money. Or you can’t blame me for being rude.”
Brian felt embarrassed to face so many onlookers. Instantly, he didn’t want to keep his word.
Once he gave the losing bet to Robin, it would mean he admitted to being defeated. He always thought him a bigwig in town. How could he do that?
Hence, he decided to throw his weight around Robin and Nina.
Usually, the ordinary ones would be scared after hearing Chase Corporation’s name.
However, Robin walked up to him, gazing at him fiercely.
“Give me the money. It’s my hard earnings exchanged with my sister-in-law.”
