Chapter 32: Jeff Arrived

Snowy and Hank were taken aback, wondering why Jim’s attitude had changed suddenly. Earlier, he was respectful and gingerly, but he bluntly refused to sign a new contract. Besides, he seemed to sneer at them.
Bad hunches rose in their hearts.
“Mr. Jordan, you didn’t say so on the phone earlier,” Hank said, frowning at Jim.
“Earlier? I only focus on the present. Now, I don’t want to sign the contract with you.”
Jim sat on the couch, emanating a dignified aura as the company president. He was somebody in the capital. Earlier, he had thought Elise requested to sign a new contract.
After testing Snowy and Hank, he realized he had misunderstood.
The two disdained Elise and Robin and showed off to them repeatedly. Of course, Jim would defend Elise and Robin.
“Mr. Jordan, how can you break your word?” Snowy stood up and snapped.
On the phone, they requested to sign a new contract, and Jim agreed. They had bragged to all people in the Houry family. However, Jim refused to sign the contract with them. Snowy didn’t know how to deal with the situation.
“Break my word? Have we signed a contract? You’d better mind your language.”
Jim lifted his eyebrow.
Snowy and Hank couldn’t retort to him. They had no agreement. Without signing anything, nothing was legal.
“Mr. Jordan, we can eliminate some conditions. We can sign the same contract as the early copy. But it must be signed between us again.”
Jim’s attitude made Snowy misunderstand that he was unhappy with certain conditions of the contract and wanted more profits. She decided to compromise with him. In fact, Lands Corporation has gained a lot after gaining the Robin-Sophia project. She wouldn’t mind if the conditions were not changed.
“Sorry, but I’ve signed the contract with Lands Corporation already,” Jim insisted.
Snowy and Hank frowned upon hearing his answer, especially Hank. He was irritated. He was a respected military officer, and his family was influential. However, he encountered too many difficulties today and was suppressed all the time. Remarkably, he had been disgraced in Robin’s presence, which bothered him deeply.
“Jim Jordan, you’d better think twice. I’m still a military officer now. If you give me a hard time, I will not let go of you easily.”
Hank dragged his necktie, gazing at Jim in hostility. He hinted that he wouldn’t mind forcing Jim to sign the contract.
“Are you threatening me, military officer?”
Jim looked at him in amusement.
“Yes, I am. What can you do? Mind you. If I make a call, your Robin-Sophia Group will be closed down. If you are sensible, sign the contract,” Hank pounded on the table and shouted impatiently.
Snowy watched them, giggling when watching how overbearing Hank was. She whispered to Elise, “Seen that? That’s a real man. Isn’t he hundreds of times better than your homeless husband?”
“Is it too late for me to distinguish myself from you guys?” Elise asked in a helpless tone.
“What did you say?”
Snowy didn’t follow.
“Haven’t you checked the Robin-Sophia Group’s background?” Elise asked.
“The background?”
Snowy was taken aback.
Suddenly, Jim pulled out his phone and dialed a number. “Mr. Reczek, a man is making trouble. He’s in the lobby of our company. He said our company would be closed down if he made a call. He’s indeed arrogant…”
He bitched about Hank on the phone.
“Uh…” Snowy darted at Hank worriedly.
The latter flicked his hand. “No worries. I’m famous in Western Kisia. I also know many seniors and professors in the military university. My network should be bigger than his. Rest assured. Our contract will be signed today.”
Firm self-confidence appeared in Hank’s eyes.
Ten minutes later, they heard footsteps.
“Our chairman of the board is here.”
Jim stood up and walked out of the lounge.
“Their chairman of the board is younger than me. I’d like to see who can suppress me today. Humph! I’ll let him salute me,” Hank sneered.
He was calm because he had heard the Robin-Sophia Group’s new chairman of the board was even younger than he was. Hank always thought he was an excellent military officer as he had been promoted to captain with his family’s support.
Therefore, he was sure the young chairman of the board’s military ranking should be lower than his.
They followed Jim, and Hank was in the lead confidently. He couldn’t wait to see the soldier. However, once he stepped out of the lobby entrance, self-confidence vanished from his face.
He gaped at the scene in disbelief.
A troop stood at the entrance of the Robin-Sophia Group, with almost 3, 000 soldiers. They were all in camouflage and fully armed, standing in a formation fiercely. What a terrifying scene!
Seemingly they had encompassed the Robin-Sophia Group.
Moreover, there was a monster-like heavy tank in the troop, looking suffocating and ferocious.
A man in camouflage appeared in the tank. “I heard someone wanted to make my company close down,” he said.
“I…”
Hank couldn’t utter a word at all.
He had never seen such a scene, even in the military of Western Kisia. Not every soldier could drive a tank. Besides, he recognized the formation, which couldn’t be called by an ordinary officer.
“It’s you, isn’t it?”
Jeff looked at Hank up and down and asked, “Designation of the troop. Name.”
“Salute, Sir!”
Hank saluted him. As a lower-ranking officer, he must greet the higher-ranking officer, and it was the rule, although he was unwilling. “Hank Lope, Captain of Regiment 358, Western Kisia.”
“A captain? How dare a captain to close down my company! Do you have a death wish? Still want to serve in the military? Don’t you know your behaviors are against military discipline?” Jeff hopped off the tank and snapped at Hank.
Hank was unconvinced, unkindness flashing through his eyes. He said in a threatening tone, “You are a higher-ranking officer, but my mentor is Lieutenant Colonel Ethan Longman of Western Kisia. My grandfather is the Western Kisia Colonel. You’d better think twice before making a decision.”
He believed that his backers would frighten Jeff, although Jeff had higher-ranking.
“Gee! New recruit. How dare you compete with the rankings and bankers with me.”
Jeff laughed loudly. The next second, he put away his smile, his eyes eagle-sharp. “I’m Jeff Reczek, the Fort Eastern Colonel of the guard battalion camp. Guess who a guard battalion commander at my ranking protects?”
