‘This adjutant is a colonel. Then his general should be General Bailey!’
Hank’s pupils constricted, and he couldn’t help shivering. He made trouble for the Robin-Sophia Group but fell into a dilemma.
Of course, he knew General Bailey, the only Primus of the four borders. One month ago, he eliminated 60, 000 enemies at a critical moment to save the whole country of Kisia.
Hank couldn’t believe that he had encountered General Bailey’s subordinate.
He knew he was doomed.
“Jeff Reczek? Are you the legendary best fighter named The Totipotent? You are the only one promoted to colonel before turning 25 besides General Bailey. In legends, he’s known as a Suicidal Psycho.”
Hank smiled bitterly, feeling indeed unlucky.
“Since you came to make trouble, I wouldn’t let go of you so easily,” Jeff reminded him.
“I’m willing to accept the punishment.”
Hank couldn’t struggle anymore.
After learning whom he was dealing with, he stopped struggling. General Bailey’s reputation meant everything.
“Well, dude, can I borrow your phone? I haven’t got my phone after finishing the military exercise.”
Jeff walked to Robin kindly.
“Robin, give it to the officer. Hurry,” Elise immediately tugged Robin’s sleeve.
She watched the scene. Hank, who was always arrogant, looked helpless and frustrated now. She could tell how influential Jeff was.
Elise didn’t think either she or Robin could afford to offend him.
“Here you go.”
Robin pulled out his phone to Jeff, feeling helpless. Jeff did have his phone in his pocket, but he didn’t have the numbers of the most superior officers in Western Kisia, but Robin had.
Jeff took over the phone and dialed a number. Shortly after, he ended the call and said to Hank, “Lieutenant Colonel Longman let me pass on a message to you. Return to the military immediately.”
“Yes, Sir!” Hank responded and gave him a salute, his face pale.
He knew he would receive a strict punishment after returning, let alone Lieutenant Colonel Longman commanded in person. Lieutenant Colonel Longman was the second most important person in Western Kisia. He could even let Hank resign from the military with an order.
“I have to go,” Hank said to Snowy and turned away.
Speed was essential for a soldier. Lieutenant Colonel Longman ordered him to return immediately. Although Hank was arrogant, proud, and unruly, he had to obey the order and return to the camp ASAP.
“Wait! Hank?”
Watching him leave without looking back, Snowy stomped in anger.
“Mr. Reczek, you’ve made such a big scene. I thought you were ready to attack a country. Look at the heavy tank!”
Jim walked to Jeff, swallowing hard.
He had learned how tough Jeff and Robin were long ago, but their power was out of his imagination. Jeff could quickly bring a heavy tank on the street.
“Earlier, I was training those soldiers in the military region in Stillwater. We had just finished the exercise when I received your call. Then I brought them here. All right. I gotta go now,” Jeff explained, reporting to Robin at the same time.
Then he returned the phone to Robin. “Thanks, dude.”
“Tell him ‘you are welcome.’ Hurry!” Elise reminded Robin hurriedly.
She whispered, “He’s a bigwig. I know you used to save his life, but you must show your respect to him.”
Robin was in wordless amusement, but he said to Jeff obediently, “You are welcome.”
Soon, the troop left. Jim showed off to Snowy, “Seen that? Think you can afford to offend our Robin-Sophia Group?”
At this moment, he believed he had made a wise decision to take Robin’s side.
The Bailey family in the capital was far less influential than Robin, who could call over a troop easily. Jim was sure his choice was correct.
“Humph!”
Snowy seethed with rage. She failed to do everything she had planned to do today. Earlier, she bragged in the board of directors’ presence, but she was embarrassed now.
Besides, she was disgraced in Elise’s presence.
“Mr. Jordan, I do apologize for being rude. Can you give me a chance to sign a new contract? The conditions can remain unchanged,” Snowy clung to Jim, holding her bosom high.
She was older than Elise and looked pretty. Although less charming than Elise, she had some tricks. Otherwise, Hank wouldn’t have fallen in love with her.
Jim glanced at her chest, feeling appealed. However, Robin and Elise were watching them aside. Therefore, he didn’t think he could accept her kindness. Or, he would drop off the surface of the Earth soon.
“Ms. Houry, I’m a man with principles. Since I’ve signed the contract with Lands Corporation, I don’t need to sign a new contract.”
Jim insisted on rejecting her. Then he asked to be polite, “Would you like to return to the lounge?”
“No, thanks.”
Snowy stormed away, leaving Elise and Robin on the scene.
Elise thanked Jim for his kindness. Jim responded to her kindly and gingerly.
Later, on the way back home, Elise called Gordon. “Hello, Grandpa.”
“Yes?” Gordon replied.
“Snowy and Hank failed to sign a new contract. The project contract is still the one I signed with the Robin-Sophia Group, which means I’m still the winner. Grandpa, what do you say? You can’t break your promise.”
Elise was joyful. Although something extra happened, she still had the project contract in her hands.
She had the hope to return to be chairwoman of the board again.
However, Gordon answered, “You’ve signed the contract, but Lucas Corporation has become our enemy. If we cannot let them forgive us, our Lands Corporation will go bankrupt soon. The chairman or chairwoman of the board doesn’t make any sense. Solve this problem. Then we’ll talk about it.”
He ended the call immediately.
“What? Grandpa… How can you do so…”
Elise put down her phone, her hands clenching and loosening. Leaning against Robin’s shoulder, she asked blankly, “Honey, when can I gain back my things? Grandpa mentioned Lucas Corporation. How am I supposed to solve the problem? Reginald Lucas and his father wished to skin me alive.”
Robbin slid his hands through her hair, curling the strands around his fingers, and said, “I’ll help you, Elise.”
“I hope so. For some reason, I can feel I’ve become luckier recently. The whole world seems to be friendly to me. Probably my day will come. Thank God!”
“By the way, do you know General Bailey? I’ve heard about him since Leslie turned two. He’s the Primus of our country, a brave general fighting against the enemies. His nickname was ‘Suicidal Psycho.’ It’s said he carries on the most dangerous missions. What a brave general! He must be the dream lover of countless women. Every woman loves a hero.”
“I also worship him a lot, but I’m married with a daughter. All right. Robin, don’t be jealous. For the sake you’ve defended me today, I’ll reward you.”
Then she pecked his cheek, leaving a red lip print.
Robin stroked it with a faint smile. Of course, he wasn’t jealous.
