“What? 10 million dollars?”
Snowy jumped to her feet immediately. Disbelief had replaced the irony on her face. She hurriedly snapped, “How dare you brag! This is an artificial ring.”
“This Carmen red weighs 12 carats. According to the market price, it costs 8 million dollars. Not to mention this is the unique treasure of LV & Co., named Heart of Passion. It’s worth at least 10 million dollars,” the jewelry appraiser retorted affirmatively.
“I didn’t mean to ask you how much this ring is worth. I want you to tell me it’s artificial.”
Snowy became flustered and exasperated.
If the ring was really worth 10 million, her two-carat ring that cost 60, 000 dollars was nothing. Earlier, she showed off to Elise. Snowy thought she herself was like a clown.
“It’s real. I’ve been a jewelry appraiser for decades. I’m confident in the result. It’s the real Heart of Passion.”
Jewelry flicked his hand in self-confidence.
“Forget it. Just go,” Snowy sent him away immediately.
Then she tossed the Carmen red back to Elise and remarked, “The jewelry appraiser was hired by this restaurant. Not a professional one. Just ignore him.”
If the ring was real, she would be genuinely embarrassed, as if she let Elise slap her in the face. Hence, she would never admit it was the real Heart of Passion, no matter what.
“I agreed. He must be an amateur,” Hank echoed.
“Hasn’t the jewelry appraiser confirmed your ring is real? You also said he was professional earlier. Why don’t you want to admit it now?” Robin asked, lifting his eyebrow.
Snowy and Hank looked annoyed, feeling awkward.
“Forget it. That jewelry appraiser must be unprofessional,” Elise said and changed the topic.
While eating the food, she whispered to Robin, “Where did you buy the ring? It could make the jewelry appraiser admit it’s real. It should be costly.”
Elise still believed it was artificial. After all, the real one cost 10 million dollars, which couldn’t be afforded by everyone. Besides, Robin was just an ordinary poor guy. She didn’t think he could have afforded it.
“Not expensive,” Robin answered. He knew what was in Elise’s mind.
In fact, 10 million dollars were nothing to him. After all, he was General Eastern leading more than 20, 000 soldiers. The ring’s price was just a drop in the bucket.
Snowy and Hank had lost their appetite for lunch. They wanted to disgrace Elise and Robin and show off. However, they failed and were suppressed, wondering why.
“Elise, after lunch, we will sign a new contract with Mr. Jordan. Will you go with us?” Snowy asked.
She knew how to poke Elise’s sore spot.
She wanted to let Elise watch her contract gained with effort become nothing and the project fall into their hands easily. This project contract was her trump card to give Elise a heavy blow.
Elise looked at Robin and asked, “Shall we go with them?”
“Why not?”
Robin nodded his agreement.
“Elise, your husband is incompetent. Why do you discuss this with him? After all, the one with the final say must be the person making money.”
Snowy giggled and pointed out Robin was good for nothing in his presence.
Then they left the restaurant.
“Don’t take it seriously, Robin,” Elise consoled Robin.
In hesitation, she added, “You must be self-motivated not only for yourself but also for Leslie and me. Sometimes, I’ll fail, too. I’m afraid I cannot continue raising you under that circumstance.”
Rubbing his forehead, Robin felt helpless. He was Primus, one of the most superior men in Kisia. However, his wife insisted on raising him.
Staring at Elise, the gentle, graceful woman who looked serious, Robin told himself that it wasn’t shameful for him to rely on his wife.
Let alone, she was such a charming lady.
After leaving the French restaurant, they went to the Robin-Sophia Group. Jim was waiting for them at the lobby entrance respectfully and patiently.
Snowy got off the car and held Hank’s arm. Raising her neck at Elise, she bit out, “Look! After my fiance called Mr. Jordan, he became so respectful. Don’t you think he’s better than you?”
Jim had been waiting for ten minutes. Earlier, he received a call and found it was from Lands Corporation, so he immediately became serious.
After all, Elise was from that company, and she was his boss’ wife.
The man on the phone requested to sign a new contract, so Jim thought Elise didn’t like their conditions. He immediately agreed without hesitation and redrafted a contract to provide Lands Corporation with as many benefits as possible, such as giving Lands Corporation more project profits, which was like an unequal treaty.
Once the Lands Corporation’s representatives arrived, Jim walked to them. However, he found Elise and Robin behind the first two people he didn’t know.
“Excuse me. You are?” Jim asked Snowy and Hank.
“I’m Snowy Houry, from the Houry family, representing Lands Corporation. This is my fiance, Hank Lope, a captain from Western Kisia.”
When Snowy introduced Hank, her voice was raised. After all, she was proud of Hank’s military rank.
“May I know your relationship with the two persons behind you?” Jim bowed at them and asked gingerly, looking humble.
“They? Just ignore them. They came here to watch the fun,” said Snowy.
As a prominent company president, Jim was shrewd and wise. He could tell Snow disdained Elise and Robin when answering his questions.
“Let’s enter your company and talk in detail,” Hank stood upright and suggested naturally.
“Sure. This way, please,” Jim let them in.
On the way, Snowy muttered to Elise, “Look! That’s the benefit of my fiance’s military rank. Mr. Jordan is said to be pretty proud in Stillwater. Many company owners don’t afford to offend him. However, he’s humble to us, especially to my fiance.”
Her word also made Hank proud.
After arriving at the lounge in the lobby, Hank sat down with his legs crossed arrogantly. Arching his eyebrow, he reminded Jim, “Let’s sign the contract.”
He thought Jim was scared of him, so his tone was overbearing and determined.
However, Jim beamed at him politely. “The contract? What contract? I have signed a contract with Ms. Elise Houry from Lands Corporation, haven’t I? Why did you want to sign another contract?”
