Chapter 60

Book:Save Me Mate Published:2024-5-1

Kayden’s POV
The next day.
I had a very short sleep, the thoughts of everything including Jay took sleep away from me.
It was still very early in the morning but I decided to start preparing for work already, maybe because I did not want to see Mantha for now or maybe I just needed to go to work early.
Any reason it was, I was going to leave home as soon as possible. I went into the bathroom and instead of the long bath that I would have chosen at this point, I decided to go for a quick bath so I could get over with dressing and finish up before Mantha wakes up.
I dressed up corporately and checked myself out in the mirror for a spilt second before grabbing my laptop and placing it into my briefcase along with some other documents.
I grabbed the briefcase and walked out of the room. My eyes surveyed the place, there was no sign of Mantha anywhere and that was a sort of relief.
Jay was giving me the silent treatment, he would have at least gave a greeting before but now he was not.
I was not really happy that he was snubbing me but then I seemed to derive some peace in the fact that he was not troubling me over Mantha. He was not troubling me but still yet I was troubled.
“Good morning Alpha Kayden.” James greeted.
“I would take over the car.” I replied him and got into the car.
I drove off with a zoom of the car.
Samantha’s POV
I woke up feeling at my best! I grinned remembering yesterday’s events. I was now the mate of Alpha Kayden.
“Good morning ” I said to Cara.
“Good morning to you too Alpha Kayden’s future Luna.” Cara replied and I giggled.
“C’mon, you are making me blush.” I replied her and got up from my bed.
“Good morning Samantha.” Cassie said to me
“Hey Cassie, good morning.” I said to her with a bright smile on my face.
“You are still looking super bright. If you were the first wolf I have ever seen, I would have said that all wolves are super happy and bright but Alpha Kayden totally contrasts that idea, so tell me, anything you’re hiding from me?” She asked and I paused for a short moment.
“I am hiding nothing from you.” I replied her but the look on her face made it evident to me that she was not believing the lie I told.
“Okay, no worries.. i would tell you the reasons later on.” I said to her.
“Now, that’s the vibes.” she chuckled and threw me a dusting clothe.
“Here you go, time to begin cleaning. I asked James this morning and he said we would be cleaning just the living room, the room that Alpha Kayden occupies and…..”
The mention of Alpha Kayden’s room made my heart skip a single beat. I would meet him there then maybe he would tell Cassie to excuse us and then he would…. He would kiss me and tell me how much he loves me.
“What are you daydreaming about? you are giggling and smiling over and over again.” Cassie pointed out.
“I…. I am not daydreaming, let’s get to work.” I replied her.
“Okay then, let’s clean the living room first.” she suggested and I agreed to it anyways.
We spent quite some time cleaning the living room and sure it was quite stressful given the fact that I had not eaten yet.
“Cassie, aren’t you hungry?” I asked her.
“Hunger?! Oh no! I already ate breakfast, forgot to tell you to eat.” she said.
“How could you forget that?” I groaned.
“My bad, my bad.” she admitted and i shook my head.
“I would go over to Alpha Kayden’s room to clean there up and then I would go have my meal.” I said to her and skipped away even before she could say a word or stop me from going there.
I smiled and checked myself out. The thoughts of getting dressed in beautiful and fashionable dresses like Miss Lauren’s dresses crossed my mind but I simply shook it off.
I now had such a great advantage over Alpha Kayden, I was his mate. I knocked on the door with my hands as sweaty as whatever could be.
I knocked on the door repeatedly but there was no response whatsoever, I tried to open the door and that was when I found out that it is locked.
I furrowed my brows with a small pout. I guess he’s gone to work after all I woke up really really late too.
I went back to the living room.
“You’re back…. I was trying to tell you that Alpha Kayden already went to work so you can’t get into the room.” Cassie said.
“How are we supposed to clean there then?” I asked.
“Well… We meet James, I guess.” she replied but by this time, I had lost interest in cleaning the room after all Alpha Kayden was no longer in the room.
“Why should Alpha Kayden leave without even seeing me?” I asked Cara.
“Maybe he had a really urgent call at work.” Cara replied and I hoped that was it.
“Cassie, off to eat now.” I said to her.
“Not going to finish cleaning?” She asked.
“You ate already, it’s my time to do same.” I replied her and she sighed, shaking her head with a small smile.
“As you wish.”
That evening.
The whole day was boring, monotonous. The only thing that lit up my day was chatting to Cara about Alpha And chatting with Cassie too about him again.
I continued to look at the watch, wondering when Alpha Kayden would be back home. It was what I was expecting the whole day and when it was some few minutes past 6pm, the noise of a car revving approached and I got up. I peered through the window and it really was Alpha Kayden’s car.
I almost jumped in excitement that I could hardly contain but then my hands began to get sweaty. I did not know how exactly I was supposed to talk to him, how I was supposed to look at him now.
I checked myself in the mirror that stood in the middle of the room. I had brushed my hair beautifully and I was sure I looked at least a bit dashing.
I didn’t want to wear one of those dresses Miss. Lauren usually wore (not like I do have anyways) It would be awkward wearing them.
I rushed down to the living room just in time to see him taking the stairs along with a man, one I would come to identity as Beta Davis.
“Good day Alpha Kayden.” I greeted with a loud, cheerful voice and he halted.
“Davis, you can leave for now. Follow me Samantha.” he ordered and my body slightly shivered not for the fact that his voice was cold, I very well understood that was now the way his voice usually was but for the fact that he did not call me Mantha but Samantha.
“What could be happening?” I asked Cara.
“I… I have no idea, follow him and see at least what he is going to say.”
“Maybe he just wants to act cold then he is going to do a sudden transition to the warm mate, right?” I asked Cara in a desperate bid to assure myself that was the case currently.
“Yes, that must be the case.” Cara affirmed and I ran up the stairs after Alpha Kayden.
I got to his room and his back was facing me. There was a cold aura surrounding him, but this aura seemed to be forced, it did not seem natural the way it had always seemed.
“A… Alpha Kayden.” I stuttered.
“Samantha, I have just few words to say to you.” He started.
“Yes Alpha.”
“I love the fact that you still mention Alpha with every ounce of the master to maid relationship. You definitely know the moon goddess has pointed you out as my mate.”
“Yes Alpha Kayden…. I found out….”
“I don’t care when you found out. There is no such thing as love or mates for me. You still remain Samantha to me, my maid and not my mate.” his words came shattering every happiness I had built, every expectation, every hope!
“W…. why?” I stuttered, my voice cracking with the tears threatening to pour out anytime soon.
“You have no right to question me Mantha….. Samantha, you and I have nothing to do together. This is neither your fault nor mine, it is simply fate. Samantha, I reject you as my mate.”
