Chapter 33

Book:Save Me Mate Published:2024-5-1

Kayden’s POV
I waited for like minutes but there was no Mantha, this was definitely not the time for me to be kept waiting even if it was Mantha.
I tapped my foot on the floor impatiently. I could not wait anymore so I decided to give her another call but this time she did not pick up my calls.
I furrowed my brows and dialled her contact but it was the same response, she was not picking my calls yet again making me wonder what the heck in the word she could be doing that made her ignore my calls.
I was getting angry already enough but then I decided to calm myself down.
“What reason could be enough for her not to come to me at my orders?” I questioned myself.
“Perhaps Melissa is at it again or one of the maids,” Jay said and I was a bit relieved.
At least he was now cool with me and was over his anger and fit.
“That’s possible but still yet no one amongst them would dare to stop her knowing very well that I am requesting for her presence,” I replied him.
“Maybe they do not know, you have to go and check whatever reason is holding her down,” Jay said and I turned to leave for the maid’s quarters but I stopped.
“Why would I go to the maid’s quarters?” I questioned.
“All you said was just a guess, what if none of that happened? What if there’s nothing wrong and she is just trying to ignore me?” I questioned even more.
“Okay then, you are hopeless,” Jay replied.
“Alpha Kayden.” a maid greeted and hurried past.
“Back here,” I called out to her and she moved to me in a few seconds.
“Y… you need my… my presence sir?” she asked and her stutters were much more annoying, annoying than Mantha could ever sound.
“Get Mantha here for me,” I said to her.
“Yes Alpha,” she replied with a bow and walked away.
Minutes passed and the maid returned to me without Mantha or at least my keys.
“Where is she?” I asked, my brows furrowing even harder.
“She… Alpha Kayden, she asked me to let go of her.” She said and my eyes widened.
I refused to believe that the timid Mantha would say something like that but one thing was even more sure, there was no way this girl would lie to me also, she definitely knows the consequences of lying to me.
I chewed the insides of my mouth in anger. How dare Mantha say that when she knows that I am the one calling her.
Jay also growled, no matter how much Jay felt good with her pleasant scent, he would still not take from even Mantha any form of disrespect.
“I have really got to see her and see if she would be able to utter those words of the front of me,” I said to Jay and took the stairs.
I tried to find out what could make her say such and only one possibility was in my mind, she had gone onto some sort of social media platform and there she had gotten such confidence and disregard.
Samantha’s POV
“Impossible! we kept it here,” Cassie said to me.
“Yeah, we definitely did,” I said, already breaking into bouts of sweats.
“Calm yourself down, it must be buried under one of these clothes,” Cassie said in a miserable attempt.
We both picked the clothes, checking each of them one after the other but the key was still not there. My phone rang and I did not even need to check it to know who was calling me.
“Alpha Kayden is calling you,” Cassie said and I sat onto the floor.
“Don’t pick it up, please. I… I have no idea what I could… what I could tell him.” I stuttered and buried my face in my palms.
“Let’s just search again,” Cassie suggested as the phone rang yet again.
“I wish I had never taken the keys from him, I wished I had gently refused the keys from him” I mumbled, tears already gathering up in my eyes.
“Wh… what just happened?” Cara asked, coming back to me and I tearily explained to her.
“We… we might get killed now. how… how could the key be missing? You placed it right in the bag” she said.
“I know Cara and that’s why it is even more frustrating,” I replied, tears clouding my eyes even more while I and Cassie miserably tried to find the keys amongst the heap of clothes.
“This… this can not be true.” Cassie shook her head and I sniffed back tears.
“Don’t… don’t cry,” Cassie said and hugged me.
“I am scared… I am scared.” I mumbled in her arms.
“This must be the work of one of those small brats” she seethed.
“And you really think Alpha Kayden would understand if I tell him that? He might… he might kill me or… or take me back into the streets.” I mumbled.
“Hey Samantha, your presence….”
“Get out! Get out of my presence now!!” I yelled at the maid, cutting her off.
They were all the same, I was sure that she knew about the key in my bag missing, all the other maids knew. They were all trying to pick on me.
“But I was asked to….”
“I said get out!! you wicked souls!” I yelled at her.
“Okay, okay.” she gave in and walked away.
I sat back on the floor and dug my hands into my hair once more, trying to think of a way to get out of this situation.
“Why did you yell at her so much?” Cassie asked, talking gently.
“The others took the keys, I am sure that girl also knows about it, they all know about it,” I said to her.
After a few minutes of sitting on the floor miserably. I heard his name;
“Alpha Kayden.”
“Good afternoon Alpha Kayden”
My eyes widened hearing that name and I stood up from the floor.
“Cassie, Cassie, he is here” I mumbled in fear and I could see the fear in Cassie’s eyes too.
I could feel that cold presence around me, it seemed even colder and more demanding.
“Samantha!” he called.
The fact that he did not call me Mantha told me of the great trouble that I was awaiting
