Chapter 32

Kayden’s point of view
In the end, I didn’t spend much time at the office. I was already in a state of disarray, so I needed some time to myself to either relax or rest. The news that the beta had not been identified had already given me a headache.
Even worse, Jay’s inability to cooperate or understand made the situation even more difficult for me to handle.
Even though I’d been at work for hours, I hadn’t even unpacked my luggage, and no matter how many times I tried to think of a means to get these wolf hunters, I couldn’t come up with one.
Whether it was because I wasn’t in the mood to think or because there were few options, I couldn’t get my hands on them.
Eventually, I was allowed to leave with a relieved sigh, and my car door was promptly unlocked for me. I climbed into the car and dropped my bag on the backseat.
My plea for a “slow drive” was granted, and the cold breeze and softness of it all worked wonders in calming me down.
A 20-minute drive turned into a 35- to 40-minute one because of the car’s sluggishness, but at least it gave me a break.
As soon as I stepped out of the car, I handed my suitcase to a maid. In the living room, I discovered my mother conversing with Lauren.
“Kayden, hello there! You’re back so early! We’ll be waiting for you right here.”
“Good afternoon, Mum, but I’m not feeling it,” I said.
“Hello there, A.”
I remarked, “Spare me your welcomes,” and she pressed her lips together in a narrow line as a response.
My mother told me, “Kayden, I understand that you are exhausted and worn out, but still that is no way to say to your best friend.”
“Do not refer to her as my buddy; she is not my best friend
“Do not refer to her as my buddy; she is not my best friend  I answered.
To put it another way, “I’m going.” I took the stairs before my mother could say another word.
I made my way to the entrance of my room and found the maid there to hand me my suitcase. As soon as I snatched my suitcase away from her, she bolted out of sight.
There were no keys to be found in the pockets of my jeans.
Yeah! The only reason my keys weren’t in my hand was because I’d given them to Samantha to tidy my room this morning.
Getting my key from her was out of the question; instead, I retrieved my phone and dialled her number.
“Mantha, please bring my room key.” Ordered and ended the call
Samantha’s view on the situation
‘This is Alpha Kayden’s room key, a priceless possession.'” Cassie paused to admire the key.
“Yeah, that’s what I’m getting at. Keep it in a safe place so that it doesn’t get lost.” I answered.
When he loses it, “he might not have the ability to hold back his fury.” I heard what Cassie had to say.
It’s not like I’m careless enough to lose it. I replied, putting the key on the bedside table that each person had.
“How could you have the keys to his room on your table? It’s obviously not safe here.” When Cassie inquired, I went to the table and grabbed the key.
“That’s correct, of course. This item can be picked up by anyone who wishes to do so.” The number of girls in the maid’s quarters increased from four or five to six or seven as a result of the new entry, which I announced.
“Of course, you should be aware that this key is crucial, since it is something that not even the most experienced users can overlook. Alpha Kayden is able to provide for Lauren’s needs.” she said in hushed tones.
“the fact that she’s his best friend makes me certain that she can.”  I answered.
“That’s a non-issue. Let’s just store the key to Alpha Kayden’s room in a safe place.” Cassie exclaimed, her voice a little louder than usual, her face beaming with a broad grin.
“Reduce the volume of your voice. No one else should know that I have Alpha Kayden’s keys in my possession.” In a whisper, I muttered something to her.
“That’s OK, that’s fine,” I said. After Cassie’s response, she carried my bag of clothing to my bed and laid them out for me.
Then she replied, “This can easily go in your bag of clothes,” and I nodded in agreement.
“I don’t think it’s safe enough,” I said. Cara’s response drew me to a halt.
“Okay, where do you believe is secure enough?” I
“Sorry, I’m stumped. Leave it be. You don’t have to worry about somebody opening your suitcase.” I put the key back in my suitcase and put on my blue gown as she replied.
“Well, there we have it.” I said, forming a tiny line with my lips.
After a few hours had passed, he returned.
“Finally, I was starving, so it was time to eat. Let’s get started.” I told Cassie that.
“Wow, it appears that someone is rapidly becoming a foodie,” I said to her. After removing her maid’s uniform, Cassie laughed.
Afterwards, we headed to the dining room in our regular attire.
Once again, we sat down at the table that had become synonymous with us, the one that Miss Melissa had tried to take from us just the other day.
We both sat down to eat and spoke about unimportant matters of the day. As there was nothing of great interest to talk about, we didn’t spend much time chatting.
After dinner, we went back to our quarters and put on our maid’s uniforms once more before going to sleep.
My phone rang as I was getting ready to go out, and the name A. K. appeared on the screen, making my heart flutter.
As the first phone call of my life, I had high hopes that it would be an exciting one.
My ears were ringing as soon as I picked up the phone and listened intently.
“Mantha, please bring my room key.” His icy voice appeared, but this time it sounded exhausted.
He abruptly ended the conversation before I had a chance to respond. I shook my head as I looked at the phone screen.
Getting my first phone call wasn’t exactly exciting.
“Was that Alpha Kayden?” Cassie inquired about it.
“That’s OK,” I said.
“He’s back home, and he’ll need his keys.” I replied as I retrieved my suitcase of clothing.
When I tried to open it, I couldn’t find the keys, so I raised the blue robe. I dumped everything out of the bag as soon as I got it.
“How can I help you?” Cassie inquired, and I fixed my gaze on her, my pupils constricted with anxiety.
“There’s a problem with this lock!”
