Samantha’s POV
I held the key in my hand for a moment and stared at his retreating figure till Cassie nudged me.
“Lucky you and still yet lucky me, I have another tree morning.” she said in glee.
“This is nothing but a punishment.” I concluded. Sure that was what it was, I had to clean up his huge room all by myself, why?
And still yet Miss. Melissa might cause yet another fuss about it not knowing that this is actually nothing but Alpha Kayden punishing me for what I don’t know yet.
“Bye girlie.” Cassie said as soon as we got to the door to Alpha Kayden’s room.
“Oh no! Bye then.” I waved at her and opened the door. I got into the room and locked the door behind me, I definitely did not want some other person to come in today to nag and yell at me.
I set to cleaning immediately, careful not to touch anything delicate but instead I admired them from a distance. Alpha Kayden really had a beautiful room with loads of beautiful things, I wonder how he got so cold seeing this beautiful things each and every day.
I continued cleaning the room till I was done. I packed my cleaning equipments and walked out of the room.
I was walking down the stairs when I came across Miss. Melissa.
“Good day ma’am” I greeted and she gave me a warm smile, one I refused to believe was truly warm.
“How are you coping right here Samantha?” she asked.
“I am doing very good ma’am, thanks to your kindness and generosity” I replied her.
“You do not need to mention” she said with a smile and I nodded.
“Thanks ma, I will take my leave now” I said to her and made to leave but she held my hand.
“Where are you coming from?” she asked and I wanted to lie to her but suddenly I found no reason to her.
I seemed to believe that she would not try to harm me, Alpha Kayden would make sure of that. It was sure strange to think that way but then I still thought like that.
“I am coming from Alpha Kayden’s room, he had me get his room cleaned up.” I replied and saw a bit of anger and hatred flash in her face before she masked it in a huge smile again.
“That’s nice, you can leave now.” she said and I walked away.
“Hey what did miss. Melissa say to you?” Cassie asked, she was cleaning the living room currently.
I dropped my cleaning equipments and joined her in the cleaning.
“She didn’t say much, she tried to be nice.” I replied.
“Do not tell me that you believe that she is being sincere.” she said.
“I am not that much of a fool, you know. The smile on her face seemed to fake, she could not even control the anger from showing ok her face when I told her I was coming from Alpha Kayden’s room.” I replied.
“That woman, I wonder what is thinking of doing, suddenly being kind to you.” She scoffed and old lady walked to us.
“Good day ma’am.” we both greeted with a deep bow.
“Hey, the both of you are doing fine, right?” she asked.
“Yes ma’am.” we both chorused.
“Okay, okay, just get done with what you are doing as fast as possible and have some rest before it is lunch.” she replied.
“Yes ma’am.” we chorused once more and faced what we were cleaning.
Kayden’s POV.
“What do you mean by he can’t be found?” I asked, my brows creasing.
“I have no idea if he ran away or if he was taken away by the wolf hunters but I can not reach him at the moment.” Davis replied and I hit the table hard with my fist.
Jay was angry too. I was not really expecting something positive from that silly beta but him not being found…. That was something really really negative.
“I told you to be a little bit positive! Optimistic! But you did not, this is what was on your mind and that is exactly what happened.” Jay growled.
“Jay, you very well do know that I am not happy about this right?” I asked.
“Oh, I am sorry but I don’t know that” he replied.
“I am sorry Jay, I know how you feel but I promise you I would do something about this.”
“I don’t need your promises!” he yelled at me and I decided not to speak to him anymore.
I understand how he is feeling, it would be better to let him be alone, have some quiet time and sort things out. Jay was definitely offering me what was very far from peace, he growled, howled and roamed in me in anger.
I was angry too, furious! that was like the only human a bit involved in this issue that we had and now he was gone.
“Why didn’t you keep an eye on him? you very well do know how important he is to this issue and yet you let him off without placing someone on him?” I asked Davis.
“I am sorry Alpha, please pardon my incompetence.” he apologized with a bow.
“Just leave, I don’t want to see you. I want to have some quiet time to myself, make sure no one comes in, tell my personal assistant and my manager to cancel each and every appointment I have today, I will be shifting it forward.” I said to him.
“Sure Alpha, I would make sure I do that….” he said and turned to leave but halted.
“By the way Alpha Kayden, Lauren called me, she told me you have not been….”
“Get the hell outta here! does that seem like what we are talking about?!!” I screamed at him in rage, my eyes dilating and the dark ball in it getting lost as Jay threatened to take over and rip off this beta who didn’t seem to know when not to talk about irrelevant issues.
“I am sorry Alpha Kayden.” he mumbled and walked out briskly.
I breathed in and out heavily and banged my fist against the table.
“I am going to get you slimy wolf hunters, I promise you all the worst type of death.” I seethed.
