Kayden’s POV
I heard a knock on my door, it was pretty weird. my room had been cleaned already and that did not seem like mom and I did not think that there was anyone that could be looking for me right now.
Lauren?
I groaned at the thought and sat up from my laptop, hoping that Lauren was not the one at the door. I did not want to see her and feel her clinginess right now.
“In,” I said and the door opened slowly assuring me that it wasn’t Lauren, Lauren would never open the door slowly.
It was Mantha. She stepped into the room with a package in her hands and that was when I remembered that I had actually gotten a phone for her, I had almost forgotten about it.
“Alpha Kayden,” she mumbled a greeting.
“Why are you here?” I asked coldly as usual.
“I… I came… I came here to… ”
“As usual Mantha, no stutters.” I cut her off.
“Yes, Alpha Kayden. I received this mobile phone, it is said to be from your honourable self and I have no idea what I have done to merit this so I am here to thank you for your grace and kindness and also….” she raised her head slightly and our eyes met momentarily.
“And also you want to know why I got you that?” I asked and she nodded repeatedly.
“Words,” I demanded.
“Yes Alpha Kayden, I want to know why your honourable got an orphan like me this phone,” she said.
“I need you to have the phone for a reason I won’t tell you,” I replied.
“Oh… then, thank you Alpha.” she bowed.
“You’re curious to know why I got you that?” I asked when she began to move backwards and my words halted her.
“Yes Alpha Kayden, I do want to know,” she replied.
“I will be after you. with that phone, I have my eyes on you, give the phone to me” I demanded, stretching my hands forward.
She moved closer to me, still standing a few meters away from me, she made to place the phone in my hands but I grabbed her wrist instead and pulled her closer.
“Stop staying so far away from me, I hate seeing you shudder,” I said to her and the reason behind my words was one I knew not at that moment.
“Ugh… oh yes Alpha Kayden,” she replied and diverted her gaze to my hand that was still holding onto her wrist.
I pressed my lips into a thin line and withdrew my hand from her hand.
“The phone?” I requested and she handed it to me with both hands, a sign of immense respect.
I took the phone and saved my contact on her phone as A. K.
“Here you go, you have my contact now,” I said to her.
“You… you are too kind Alpha,” she said to me and looked at the screen of her phone.
“A. K….” she trailed off.
“Alpha Kayden,” I replied, telling her the meaning of it.
“Oh, thank you so much for the kindness,” she said with a small smile spreading her lips.
It was the first time I was seeing her smile and to be sincere she looked like her with a smile on, she so much looked like the one. Her smile was undoubtedly beautiful, she seemed quite thrilled by the phone and the pleasant scent from her was drifting right into my nose, intoxicating me.
I gulped and gently pushed her to say from me.
“You can leave,” I said to her.
“Oh, yes Alpha. I really do appreciate this.” She bowed again and walked out of the room.
I stared at the shut door for some moments before looking away, trying to get away the tiny resemblance between Mantha and ‘her’.
Melissa’s POV
“Ma’am Melissa” one of the maids called and I saw three of them walking up to me.
“How is it? You succeeded?” I asked.
“I… we are sorry but she was unable to annoy Alpha Kayden. I gave her a cup of watermelon juice to give to Alpha Kayden but she came back normal, it did not seem like she was scolded or anything and instead….” the girl talking suddenly kept quiet.
“What happened next?” I asked.
“She got a phone now.” another replied.
“She even has no phone before? I bet she must have stolen some money to get it.”
“She… Alpha Kayden bought her the phone and had it delivered to her.” another explained better and my eyes widened.
“Im… impossible!” I spat.
“I… I saw the phone with her, it’s true. Alpha Kayden bought her the phone today.”
I grabbed the table I was standing by and held onto it tightly as the hatred flowed through me.
Alpha Kayden was supposed to be angry, he was supposed to be annoyed at her and send her out, he was not supposed to buy a phone.
“That witch” I mumbled and for the first time, I wished I was a wolf too so I could jump on that Samantha and get rid of her so quickly.
“All of you can leave,” I said to them.
“Do we continue?” One of them asked.
“Get out!!!” I yelled at them and they scampered out.
This was supposed to turn out great. there is no way this is normal, this girl must be some sort of a witch.
I grabbed my phone, I had to call Miss. Lauren again, she would want to get in at this point, judging by the fact that it seems I can not take her down myself.
I dialled her contact and she picked the call at the second ring.
“Melissa, how are things going? You are getting successful?” she asked and I slightly shook my head before it came to me that she could not see me.
” I am sorry Miss. Lauren but I do not have very good news for you.” I replied.
“What went wrong this time around?” she asked.
“I do not think that I can take this for myself,” I replied.
“What do you mean? she is just a maid, you just have to frustrate her, make Kayden hate her and then get her out of there.” She replied like it was all simple to do that while remaining undercover.
“Miss. Lauren, I am sorry but it is not that easy. today, I had her serve Alpha Kayden what he detests, Watermelon juice but she was not even scolded and more….” I paused.
“What happened next?” she demanded, impatience and curiosity evident in her voice.
“Alpha Kayden got her a phone today,” I replied and she went quiet for a while and next, I could only hear her breathing, it was heavy like she was going to explode out of anger.
“I think I have to do things myself now.”
