Kayden’s POV
I sat in my room, doing nothing but pondering over things. I had brought Mantha in here but it seems like things would not be easy for her here, anyone who told her to serve me the watermelon juice knows very well how pissed off I can get and the person is trying to make me send her away.
I wanted to get across to Mantha but then it came to my mind, she had no mobile phone, she technically had nothing.
I picked my phone and went online searching for a suitable phone till I found one, black and beautiful, it seemed like the style she would like.
“And since when did you start to care about what she would like?” Jay asked, a playful tone in his voice.
“Hey, do not tease me at the moment,” I replied to him.
“Are you not being just too arrogant? Remember I am the one who makes you the strong alpha you are.”
“Jay, here we go again. Okay, okay, go one teasing me if that’s what you want to do at this .” I replied and focused on the phone I was intending to get.
“Why do you want to get Mantha a phone?”
“Because I need her to have one so I can get across to her and also…. people like Mantha tends to hide things in their phones, whoever she is, whatever she is, wherever she is from, once she starts using the phone, there would be more clue to it all, there would be more information about her than just the ‘I am an orphan’ story,” I replied him.
“Nice! I am curious about her too.” Jay said.
“Yeah I know you are, she has a pleasant smell, pleasantly mysterious.”
I placed an order on the phone and indicated it to be sent directly to her. I dropped my phone and grabbed my laptop, it was time to get back to work.
Samantha’s POV
“Me? a phone? Of course not! You are mistaken.” I shook my head.
“Mr Kayden has ordered us to deliver this to you. You are Miss Samantha, right?” she asked again and I slowly nodded in affirmation.
“Then you are the right person we are to deliver to. Kindly sign here,” she said and I looked at Cassie who stared at me like she was dumbfounded.
“What did I miss?!” Cara shrieked in excitement.
Yeah, she wasn’t stable in me, she came and left sometimes. It is because I have not had my first shifting yet, when I do, she is going to be with me forever.
“You missed quite a lot,” I replied her, grabbing the pen.
“Do you even have an idea about how to sign?” Cara asked and I gulped.
“It can’t be that hard, just some scribbling,” I replied to her and grabbed the papers I was to sign on.
“Sign here ma,” she said, indicating to me the spot where I was to sign.
“Sure,” I mumbled and signed on the papers. My signature seemed stupid, I just wrote a big Sam and scribbled nonsense on it.
“Thank you ma, here is your package,” she said, handing a still dumbfounded me the package.
“Thanks for your cooperation.” she smiled at me, a warm and yet professional smile before walking out of the quarters.
“Did… did that just happen?” Cassie stuttered, those were the first words that she would be speaking since the woman came in and I understood her, I was shocked like she was too.
“I guess so,” I replied in a very silent tone.
“Alpha Kayden bought you a phone?!” she shrieked excitedly.
“I… I guess so” I mumbled and some girls walked in, done with their tasks too I guess.
Some of them, as usual, did not spare me as much as a glance but many of them sent me hateful looks but I ignored it all, I was kind of used to it, being hated. after all, I had been hated by every other inmate when I was still with the slave masters. Back then, there was only one who loved me, Granny and now also I still had one who loved me, Cassie.
That was enough for me, the love they showered was enough and I did not think I needed to pay attention to the huge hatred when I can simply focus on the love that the few people offer to me.
“Alpha Kayden bought her a phone?”
“How is that even possible?”
“There is no way that happened!”
“Yes it happened and why do you guys all care about it?” Cassie said standing up with a proud gait.
“C’mon, just forget about them and sit down,” I said to her and held her hands, pulling her to sit on my bed.
“Hey, we should show it off and let them all know that their plan to make you give Alpha Kayden watermelon juice and get him pissed off did not work and instead you got a mobile phone from him,” Cassie said.
“What’s the use of showing off? They have all seen it.” I replied her.
“Let’s see the phone,” Cassie replied to me, pulling off the phone from its packaging.
“Wow! So beautiful.” she mouthed and a smile spread on my lips.
“Yes, just take a look at how beautiful it is, Alpha Kayden is such a nice man at times.” I smiled.
“You need to thank him for this but wait a minute, I was saying this earlier, Alpha Kayden seems to treat you a bit differently from the rest of us. You served him watermelon juice, something that should annoy him and then he gifted you a phone, is a gift the punishment?” Cassie asked.
“Don’t think too much, I am going to go thank him and I am sure he will tell me the reason behind him getting me this phone, and you will find that it is not at all what you are thinking of,” I replied her, getting up.
“Okay, be back quickly,” she replied.
“And don’t stay too long at Alpha Kayden’s place, I might get lonely here,” Cassie yelled on top of her voice.
It was evident that she wanted the others to hear that. I shook my head and exited the room.
Cassie can think about totally absurd things. I am sure that Alpha Kayden has a motive behind this mobile phone he gave to me. That cold man only does things that find a way to benefit him, I do not know yet how I am going to benefit him in the future but I knew very well that Granny had told me that cold, rigid and strict personalities like him do not give things out without a motive behind them.
Whatever the motive behind this is, I just hope it is not too much for me to take.
