Chapter 25

Book:Save Me Mate Published:2024-5-1

Samantha’s POV.
“Wake up sleepy head, it is time to go for a cleaning,” Cassie said and I rubbed my sleepy eyes.
“I hope cleaning goes well today,” I mumbled to myself.
“Yes, it should go pretty well since that Miss. Melissa has been scolded already.” Cassie huffed without an idea that Miss. Melissa was just right behind us.
I tried to give her some facial expressions but she seemed not to even notice that.
“You know she looks like a witch, a real one, I wish she was sacked yesterday, that way our free life would be more guaranteed and I would have been so damn happy this morning.” she continued.
“But not to worry, I am sure that since she has already annoyed Alpha Kayden, it is only a matter of time before she is….”
“Cassie!” I cut her off.
“What’s wrong?” She furrowed her brows and I slightly nodded towards the direction of Miss. Melissa.
Cassie turned to her slowly and bit her lips.
“Miss… Miss. Melissa that was not about you… I was not talking about you.” Cassie tried to lie but it was obvious that no one would believe such a lie.
“It’s okay.” Miss. Melissa said and walked away, shocking both me and Cassie.
We both exchanged glances.
“Did Miss. Melissa just say it’s okay after you insulted her that much?” I mumbled and Cassie shook her head in a feigned shudder.
“She must have been so damn scared of Alpha Kayden,” she mumbled too and the softness of his voice yesterday’s night came up in my mind once more.
“Let’s go and have a bath so we can get on with other things,” I said and Cassie held my hand.
The both of us now could be referred to as friends, she was the first friend of my age I would be having and I am so glad that I got someone as jovial, fun and cheerful as Cassie.
The two of us grabbed our towels and we headed to the bathrooms, I was bent on taking a long bath again but Cassie’s voice stopped me.
“C’mon, can you stop spending the whole day taking a bath like a fish?’ Cassie joked.
“I will be out in a few minutes,” I replied and looked into the mirror, I caressed the mark on my neck slowly, the mark that reminded me of my slavery status.
“You know very well that we must hide that away perfectly from everyone,” Cara added.
“I know Cara, I am not going to tell anyone and put us at risk of going back to hell.”
“And you think that Melissa really meant it when. she said it is okay?” Cara asked.
“I think so… Her voice seemed soft, maybe she has just been in a bad mood all this while,” I replied.
“You are still such a petty fool.”
“Oh no, that is an insult you know,” I replied Cara.
“No, it is not. I am doing nothing other than telling you the truth. Bad mood?” Cara scoffed.
“It doesn’t matter, Alpha Kayden has warned her, she will definitely not try to do anything to any of the maids anymore,” I replied.
“Okay, let’s go on with your wishes,” Cara replied sarcastically.
“Yes, let us go with it,” I added with a slight pout and wrapped the towel around my waist.
I stepped out of the bathroom.
“You could spend a year bathing if you are not held back,” Cassie remarked and I chuckled.
If only she knew how prized a bath was to slaves, she would cherish every bath she took.
“Get dressed up and let’s get going,” Cassie added and I got to dress up in the maid’s uniform that had been washed by some other sets of maids.
This place was just too good, even as a maid, just imagine how good it feels like to be the alpha in this home, little wonder Alpha Kayden is so arrogant but yet a bit good.
“Let’s go clean,” I said and we both grabbed the cleaning equipment and walked out along with some other maids who were also going to do the cleaning of their assigned areas.
We both got to the door of Alpha Kayden and glances at each other, it was evident that we were both a bit scared of this cold aura of this room. The both of us looking at each other was a quite comic scene and it helped to relieve tension for a while.
Cassie placed a knock on the door.
“In.” the cold voice ordered and I opened the door, stepping into the room with Cassie following up behind me.
“Good morning Alpha.” we both bowed.
“Get to work,” he said, not looking off what he was reading and ignoring our greetings.
“Arrogant!’ Cara snorted but I gave no response as I walked away from him along with Cassie.
We both set to work and began cleaning but I could not clean properly under his watchful eyes, I could feel his gaze on me now and then as I cleaned the room.
“Hey, focus,” Cassie whispered and I nodded slightly.
I tried my best to focus and concentrate on my work but as long as I could feel his eyes on me, I lost focus and became quite nervous.
“You both are taking too long!” His voice came harshly and that was enough to put me back into motion.
I looked away from him totally and kept my mind off him by humming a song that Granny loved humming, the lyrics I did not know but the tune I knew a lot.
I hummed as noiselessly as I could to avoid annoying Alpha Kayden and the humming did work, I did not feel nervous anymore, it felt like Granny came to me through that tune and comforted me a whole lot.
In a few minutes, we were done with the cleaning. Both I and Cassie packed our cleaning equipment and bowed before him.
“We will take our leave now Alpha Kayden.” We chorused and headed for the door.
I placed my hands on the knob and was just about to turn it when his voice stopped me.
“Stay back Mantha.”
