Kayden’s POV
“I… I am sorry boss… I would never do such a thing again… I am so sorry.” Melissa fell onto the floor and began crying profusely.
Now what I hate so much is tears!
“Are you going to leave as a whole or you’d rather have me cut off your body parts?” I asked and heard her gasp.
“What is going on here?” I heard mum’s voice and I looked away.
“I just asked a question and I think I deserve to be answered, Samantha, what happened here?” Mum asked her.
“Actually ma’am, Miss….”
“Melissa bullied maids, bullied Mantha, stained the stairs with sooth and earlier what did she do?! She walked right into my room without a single fear just to go and meet Mantha who was cleaning!”
“Melissa.” mum called and Melissa lowered her head even more.
“I am sorry ma’am.”
“Stop saying words you do not mean, it annoys me.” I groaned and she kept quiet.
She definitely knows that if I do decide to rage against her, not even mum would be able to save her from me.
“You really did all of that? For what?” Mum scolded Melissa and I could see where this was heading.
Mum was going to try to tell me to let go of all that happened.
“I… I did not actually mean to.” Melissa stuttered.
“Melissa, you very well know the rules of this home. Why break them?” Mum asked and I plopped back to the chair, my gaze diverting momentarily to Mantha.
“I did not mean to, I am… I am so much sorry for what I did.” She apologized again.
“Just give her one more chance Kayden, as you can see she is repentant.” mum said and I mentally rolled my eyes.
“She is not.” I mumbled and mum sat beside me.
“She is really repentant, just let go of it this time around, I am sure she has learnt the appropriate lessons.” mum said and Melissa nodded vigorously.
“And Samantha too is not really annoyed, right? Isn that right Samantha?” Mum asked.
“Yes ma’am, I am not I any way annoyed ma’am.” Mantha replied and I huffed.
“Just let go of it all.” mum urged and I got up from where I was seated again.
“Only one more chance, a slight mistake linked to you and I would not be sacking you, I would be doing something even worse.” I said and walked away from the spot, taking the stairs to the corridor where my room was.
I looked back when I was done climbing the stairs and I could see mother still scolding Melissa while Mantha skipped away.
I stared at her retreating figure for some few more moments before looking away.
I headed to my room and fell heavily onto my bed, I stared at the ceiling for some seconds, not knowing exactly what to think about, there was so manyt things fighting to dominate my mind right now but honestly there were just two that were actually fighting the battle and had the chance of winning, first was the issue of the slave hunters and the second was Mantha.
Yeah it was strange but her appearance and pleasant scent was also strange too. Her introverted self and the way she always kept her eyes on the floor was quite strange too, strangely pleasant.
I shook my head to get her thoughts out since it seemed like her thoughts were starting to dominate my mind.
I turned off my mobile phone and buried my face in my pillow.
Melissa’s POV
I groaned on getting into my apartment, I threw off my slip ons to a distance and looked sharply at nothing in particular. I was angry, I was in rage, I almost got sacked and it is all because of that Samantha of a thing!
My years of having served them is nothing compared to the few days that Samantha has spent there?!
I just hate her so much!! I already hate hate her!! I had to cry, beg and crawl before Alpha Kayden today and it is all because of her!.
I bet that Samantha must be happy now!
I picked up my phone and decided to call ma’am Lauren, she was pretty much the only person on the same page as me.
She picked up my call on the third ring and from her voice I could tell that she was sleeping already and my call had woken her up.
“Why calling so late Melissa?” She groaned.
“Ma’am Lauren, I.. I almost got sacked!”
“What?! What the heck did you do?!” She asked.
“I… I did virtually nothing! It’s all because if that Samantha, she reported me to Alpha Kayden, Alpha Kayden even threatened to kill me because of her.” I added a bit of a lie.
Yeah, if I wanted to get back at this Samantha, I would have to make my story even more better than the original version.
“What the…. Did this really happened?! And because of her?!”
“You know I would never lie to you ma’am Lauren, he told me he could rip off my neck for her, he said he could do anything to anyone who hurt her.”
“That didn’t happen, did it?” She asked and from her voice that sounded so angry and furious, I could tell that I have began achieving my goal.
“It happened ma’am, I might have lost my life if not for the intervention of Alpha Kayden’s mother, she interceded on my behalf.”
“That nasty girl! Who the hell does she think she is?!”
“She pretends to be good in front of Alpha Kayden but the truth is I can see her smirking.” I cried out.
“I would still be needing your help Melissa.” she said and it took a lot in me not to groan.
I was calling her so that she would do things on her own while I enjoy seeing Samantha suffer in her hands.
“What would you be needing my help with?” I asked, still sounding as polite as possible.
“You would still be the one after her for me until I find a way to get in, do not worry about Kayden, you just don’t have to do things yourself, you are the assistant head of all maids, send the maids against her instead and pretend to defend her, isn’t that just the best thing to do in this sort of situation?” She asked a smirk gradually curled up my lips.
How in the world did I not think about this earlier? Samantha, you are really in for this.
