Chapter 19

Book:Save Me Mate Published:2024-5-1

Kayden’s POV
“Bring him in,” I ordered.
” Come in,” Davis called out and the door opened, revealing the beta of the attacked pack who to me seemed to be too timid to be a beta.
I scanned him with my eyes from his head to toe before looking directly at his face.
“Where were you on the day of the attack?” I asked him.
“I had gone to the lock heart pack, I was there to offer greetings to the alpha on his marriage, I was sent by the alpha of my pack.” He replied.
“And when did you return?”
“I returned on the very day of the attack,” he replied.
“If you returned that very day, does that mean you know something?” I asked.
“I am sorry Alpha Kayden but I know nothing about the issue on the ground, I only caught a glimpse of the attackers running away,” he replied.
“You saw the wolf Hunters?” I asked, my eyes widening slightly before my brows furrowed.
“Yes Alpha Kayden, I saw the attackers, about six of them.”
“And you didn’t try to fight back? Who the hell made you a beta?!” I half yelled at him before taking in a deep breath. I get to lower my voice to avoid being heard by some silly human beings.
“I… I am sorry I Alpha Kayden but they were fully armed, the only thing I could do at that moment was to stay in hiding.”
“Those damned creatures that should have freaking aborted right from when they were pregnant.” I groaned.
“Do you recognize any of them?” I asked and he slightly shook his head to indicate a negative response.
“What the….. You still do not recognize any of them?! Are you sure you’ve even got eyes?! Such an important event, such thing happened and you didn’t even take it into your brain to at least recognize one of them!” I seethed at him.
“I… I am sorry Alpha Kayden, it’s my incompetence.”
“Thank goodness you know how incompetent you are since you do know. I think it’s time to take you off that position right?” I asked.
“Please… Pardon me Alpha Kayden ” he pleaded.
“The pack was almost made extinct, who do you want to rule over exactly?” I asked him.
“I can lead the others Alpha Kayden, please reconsider your decision ” he pleaded.
“Davis, strip him of his position.”
“I would find a way to get the wolf hunters.” the beta shouted out.
“Now, that’s a good one. I am giving you two weeks, find me a wolf hunter or else, you would not just be removed from the post of beta but you would be sent out of the pack also, you would have to become an omega wolf.”
“Thanks for the grace Alpha Kayden, I would make sure I do something about it. I would make sure I find them.”
“And if you don’t, remember what you would have to become.”I reminded him and waved my hands indicating that they should leave.
They both left the office and I rubbed my forehead, this is so hectic! Finding criminals is so much harder than getting rid of them.
“You bet, I wish they could just come out themselves so I can rip their brains off!” Jay growled in me.
But then I thought about it again, Jay didn’t feel much feeling of loss at the loss of an entire pack, if an entire pack went down, then I should feel it.
Maybe I am getting stronger that I do not feel the loss so much or maybe…
“Hell!” I cussed.
Any freaking thing could have happened!
I ran a hand through my hair and sighed, I picked the note on my table and glanced at it again. WF…
I am going to get rid of this set of people, for daring to ever attack under my own rule!
I squeezed the paper in my hand tightly as the anger in me suddenly increased.
Lauren’s POV
I don’t care who this Samantha is exactly in Kayden’s life, I wasn’t going to let her become the female lead in his life.
It remained yet unbelievable to me, Kayden let a girl into his room just like that, a random girl for that matter!
Hell! That was just too… too unreasonable! It didn’t sound to me like the Kayden I knew and for some seconds, I thought that maybe Kayden decided to eventually change his cold character and then he just happened to begin with that girl but when he talked to me, I realized that was not the case, he was still the same cold and indifferent Kayden that he had turned into, he was still yet ruthless and hard towards me.
“What are you thinking about? Kayden?” Kayden’s mum asked me and I smiled a bit.
“Yes ma’am… I just find it strange that he let a girl into his room”
“I find it quite strange too but who knows what’s going on in that crazy boy’s mind? He might be doing something, who knows?”
“Something he could not do with me?” I asked. If there was anything that warranted the lady to be inside his room alone, then I could surely do that too.
“C’mon, don’t be jealous Lauren, you know how he is, right?”
“I know but then… That girl just really pissed me off.” I said, not even trying to hide the disgust in my voice.
“Don’t talk about her that way, Samantha is a pure soul. I do not know her much but she seems cool plus the fact that Kayden brought her home personally, she must have been a good girl for Kayden to have made that decision,” she replied me and I gulped.
Even Kayden’s mum was influenced by that girl?! I could feel my insides boiling.
“Oh there she is, come over here Samantha,” she called out to the girl and the girl walked over to us.
“How are you coping with the conditions of this home? You like it here?” Kayden’s mum asked her and she nodded.
“Yes ma’am, I love it here, this place is awesome ma’am. And good day miss. Lauren.” the so-called Samantha replied.
“Good day,” I mumbled to her.
“I am glad you also do enjoy this place. I understand that you are new and might be confused, do not hesitate to ask for help from the other experienced workers and congrats.”
“On what Ma’am?” Samantha asked and I mentally rolled my eyes.
I didn’t love the fact that a conversation was going on between the both of them.
“On getting assigned to Kayden’s room, it would normally take years before you get to that stage.”
“Oh thank you so much, ma’am, Samantha appreciates your grace,” she replied.
“Okay, you can leave now.” Kayden’s mum dismissed Samantha and she bowed slightly in front of me too before turning to leave.
I stared at her retreating figure intently.
Samantha, you haven’t found a home yet.
